CHAPTER 200: THE GODDESS OF AGRICULTURE’S DESIRE!

"Want some? I just made fenugreek pastries using cheese sacrificed by beastmen and other materials sacrificed by elves, plus flour I got from the Goddess of Agriculture..." At some point, the Goddess of Magic came over carrying a plate of small sweets.

She already liked eating sweets. After getting several recipes from Ren, she often made some.

Whether it was her excellent skills or the materials being too... shocking, even Ren, who didn’t particularly like sweets, found them delicious.

He smiled and picked up a pastry, taking a bite. "Your skills are getting better and better!"

"Really? I’m glad you like them." The Goddess of Magic smiled slightly, sitting beside Ren. She also picked up a pastry. Looking at the scene projected in front of them—actually the Tech Lab, where the God of Nature, Goddess of Agriculture, and Viscount Roster were having a pleasant conversation—she was also stunned. "I didn’t expect them to integrate so well. There’s no sense of discord."

"When they have the same goal, then when working toward that goal, they won’t care whether they’re human or god. If nothing unexpected happens, the Southern Territory will be the first region illuminated by the light of the agricultural gods. I really am looking forward to seeing what potential will burst forth from the God of Technology’s Magic Conductors, the God of Nature’s druid potions, the Goddess of Agriculture’s grain seeds, plus blessings from some other gods."

Ren was unprecedentedly concerned about this project. It would directly determine what the population cap of the industrial age would roughly reach—at minimum, it could determine the population cap of the first phase of the industrial age.

The Goddess of Magic smiled and leaned on Ren’s shoulder. "You’ve already done very well. I never imagined the mortal realm could produce so much grain and feed so many people."

While the two were chatting, in the Tech Lab, Viscount Roster had also completed communication with the two gods. To ensure the success of this large-scale experiment, these two gods had decided to send some clerics from their churches to the Southern Territory to join the Southern Development Company and assist with production...

Originally it was voluntary, but Viscount Roster said they should provide certain wages and profit-sharing rewards, stating that the entire Southern Development Company operated this way. He presented a theory about how people would be especially dedicated when everyone’s interests were tied to output, convincing the two gods.

Faith could indeed make many people give unconditionally, even give their lives. But the two gods knew more clearly that even within churches, not many could do this. Moreover, clerics using their status to make money was something that often happened. It’s just that their value far exceeded their harm, so they were mostly tolerated.

Benefits were indeed a good solution.

Letting all clerics going to the Southern Territory gain certain benefits while also getting special status in the church—this way, they could create better results.

"In that case, let’s settle it. I’ll have the Church of Agriculture clerics closest to you go preside over a sacrificial ceremony and give you the Golden Spike Grain seeds." The Goddess of Agriculture let out a long breath. Whether it was an illusion or not, the human part of her seemed to have grown a bit more recently.

"Perfect. I can also prepare these next few days. Plus, building the druid potion factory... using lots of magicians and Magic Conductors, we should be able to start production around the same time." Viscount Roster nodded slightly.

Things were finally settled, but seeing that Viscount Roster wasn’t leaving immediately, the God of Nature couldn’t help but speak. "Why haven’t you left yet when everything’s settled? You still have lots to do!"

"Well, my God granted us a new material that can make clothing and Magic Conductor components. I also came to see that material, but it seems someone in that materials lab is conducting related research. I need to wait."

Viscount Roster’s words made both the God of Nature and Goddess of Agriculture curious. There was such a material? What were the raw materials? If it had wide uses, could they also grow some and enhance some?

Seeing the two gods’ expressions, a thought suddenly flashed through Viscount Roster’s mind. It seemed this special material was synthesized from plants and minerals. So, if the two gods bred it, might they produce cheaper or more powerful varieties?

If so, this seemed to have important implications for the upcoming magic-tech industry. Never mind anything else, just what was needed inside various machines could be considered massive amounts.

The God of Nature and Goddess of Agriculture looked at each other. Obviously, they’d already read related information from Viscount Roster’s mind.

Interesting!

Using plant secretions fused with minerals to form new materials, and in Magic Conductors, belonging to that type of relatively important material.

If so, could they also become part of magic-tech industry? And if so, wouldn’t they also get a share of magic-tech industry faith?

The people and gods with various thoughts waited quietly in the courtyard until the lab opened and the apprentice walked out. He was also stunned for a moment. Before he could speak, Viscount Roster pointed at the semi-transparent fabric in his hand and spoke first. "Is this that material called nylon?! Aren’t you researching machinery? Why did you think to research new materials? Do our machines need it?"

"No, Viscount. I’m researching how to weave nylon into something like fabric. I’ve succeeded." The apprentice smiled. "If nothing unexpected happens, our territory can produce nylon fabric in a few hours."

"Oh?! That fast?" Viscount Roster was a bit dazed. He really didn’t know this. But recalling the progress on researching various spinning machines and looms earlier, he couldn’t help but feel it was ridiculously fast.

"Because we already had some machines with similar functions. This time was just a small modification." The apprentice’s smile was bright. "By the way, Viscount, I think we should invite some people who understand art and expert tailors back. This will make our new material known faster."

After a slight pause, the apprentice continued, "This is a great material. It can be used in Magic Conductors, medical care, clothing, agriculture, and many other fields. I think it’s necessary to spread it quickly. Of course, this is just my thought. As you know, I’m just a technician. Regarding business..."

"Did you just say this can be applied in agriculture? How?" Before Viscount Roster could speak, the Goddess of Agriculture eagerly asked, "Also, if I’m not mistaken, this material called nylon should be made by mixing dragon whisker grass with some mineral, right?"
