God of Technology: Creating the Internet in Another World
Chapter 81: Fall Into Eternal Depravity
CHAPTER 81: FALL INTO ETERNAL DEPRAVITY
The drunkard knew He had escaped control—that wasn’t surprising. But what was weird was how the guy firmly believed he was the third prince of the Kingdom of Dawn, and knew that the royal family had been corrupted by the God of War. He seemed completely clueless about recent events, yet somehow knew tons of old secrets...
On top of that, he actually thought Ren was looking for the Fallen Ones to find a solution to the God of War’s corruption. And apparently, even high-ranking members of the Fallen Ones had been corrupted by some deity.
Things were getting interesting...
"Seems like you know quite a bit about us?" Ren looked at the drunkard, his expression unchanged, almost wanting to laugh.
"The Fallen Ones know all the world’s secrets. Go back, don’t come here again—unless you want to become one of the Fallen Ones yourselves. Just go back!"
The drunkard really did seem drunk, his words rambling and incoherent, repeating himself over and over. It matched Master Wrathwind’s description pretty much exactly.
"Aren’t you curious how I just created that tower?" Ren said with a half-smile. "I think we could exchange some information."
The alcohol smell coming off the drunkard got stronger, but his eyes grew clearer. "Yeah, how could you create a tower? I was wondering if there was something wrong with the space I wove. Are you also one of the Fallen Ones? But I haven’t heard of any dream weaver in the church at your level!"
"I’m not one of the Fallen Ones. If I were, we wouldn’t need to exchange information, right?" Ren found this increasingly interesting. "What’s a dream weaver?"
The drunkard’s brain seemed to miss the last part, just muttering to himself. "Right, you’re not one of the Fallen Ones. If you were, how could I not know? The archbishop wouldn’t fail to tell me. So, what do you want to know? Speak up, hurry up and say it, then leave!"
"I want to know how you guys created this virtual world. If I’m not mistaken, this isn’t just an illusion, right?"
"This is the world of depravity—of course it’s not something as simple as an illusion. To be honest, it’s more like a dream. A place where all five senses feel like you’re in the real world, where you can experience everything you missed, make up for everything you wanted to make up for. Everyone has a world of depravity in their heart—it’s just a question of whether you can feel it, whether you can project it out. Actually, we found the inspiration for reaching this level from the Magic Net. You know about the Magic Net, right? It started spreading from your Kingdom of Dawn."
"The Magic Net lets lots of people chat online, but this isn’t the same thing, is it?" Ren’s eyes lit up immediately. He hadn’t expected his own work to be involved here. No wonder he could feel part of his authority here!
But what surprised Him even more was that this world of depravity only appeared after the Magic Net showed up... Could the Fallen Ones really use external technology to strengthen themselves to this degree in such a short time?
From what Ren knew, even the Kingdom of Dawn or the Gray Fort Empire probably couldn’t pull that off!
"Everyone has a world of depravity in their heart, but relying on your own power to manifest it is way too hard. So we learned from the Magic Net, connecting many people, using many people to manifest it... Plus, we’re trying to connect everyone’s worlds of depravity together, building a ’Great World of Depravity’ where everyone can enjoy a perfect life!"
The drunkard smiled. "How about it? Tempted? If you want to join, I’m sure you’d get a pretty good position. Since you can create that tower, I believe you could weave even better dreams."
"So you guys have multiple Mirrors of Depravity? Also, how do you weave dreams?" The more they talked, the more questions Ren seemed to have.
"A divine artifact like the Mirror of Depravity—of course there’s only one in the world. But we’ve already mastered the method of constructing worlds of depravity. Even without the Mirror of Depravity, we can do it. As for how to weave dreams, that’s our secret. If you agree to join, after the review process, naturally an archbishop will teach you."
Though the drunkard seemed drunk, he was getting more energetic. "I’ve told you so much already. Shouldn’t you explain something to me?"
"You want to know about that tower?"
"No, I want to know how you entered the world of depravity, and why you could sense something was off. I thought maybe I made some mistake when weaving, but now, you’re making me a little scared."
The alcohol smell on the drunkard got stronger and stronger, so strong that Ren found it almost pungent—like he’d been soaked in a vat of wine for who knows how long. Yet the drunkard was obviously getting more and more alert, more and more spirited.
"I just saw it right away." Ren spread his hands and casually sealed off the drunkard’s smell.
Data Craftsman—in a virtual world like this, even if it wasn’t his own network world, it worked just fine.
Like an extension of his own arm!
"I’ve been so open and honest with you, but you won’t give up even a bit of information. Isn’t that a bit much?" The drunkard showed a stiff smile. "You should’ve noticed too—we’re different from other dark churches. We focus more on inner peace. Tell me, let us make the world of depravity more perfect. It’s good for everyone in this world."
"Those who want to fall can easily fall, and those who don’t want to fall will have more comfortable lives because lots of annoying people have fallen... Won’t you really consider it? If you’re willing, the Fallen Ones can help you become king of the Kingdom of Dawn. Even if you want your father, your siblings to fall, we can easily make that happen..."
The drunkard seemed to grow more impatient with each word. After a few sentences, his expression suddenly began to twist, and the surrounding environment started collapsing. "I’m chatting nicely with you because I want to chat nicely. In this world of depravity I wove, I suggest you cooperate!"
"Tell me quickly, why could you tell?! What went wrong?!!"
In just a few sentences, the drunkard’s expression completely twisted. The surrounding scenery began to shake, and the buildings around them started to crumble.
Seeing this, Betty quickly mobilized magic, trying to block it, but suddenly discovered there was no magic power at all in the surroundings. The entire world seemed to be collapsing. "In my world of depravity, even dragons will fall."
"Since you won’t cooperate! Then fall into eternal depravity. Once you fall, I can still read your memories!"
The drunkard’s expression grew more and more twisted.
Ren felt a stream of data rushing toward his body.
