CHAPTER 126: RISING THROUGH THE RANKS

The truck came to a sudden halt.

Gabriel snapped out of his thoughts just in time to hear the urgent yell from the driver. "We’re at the lake! Monsters ahead—giant crocs, prepare for battle!"

"Just the right time," Gabriel muttered as he calmly stepped out of the truck.

Before them was a massive lake, with several mutated crocs resting at the shores and swimming inside.

[Mutated Crocs – LV.26]

The average level was around 25. Sensing the presence of humans, the crocs glared angrily and started to approach.

Bunny quickly turned on her livestream, staying in the back where she could cast spells and support the team.

"Dark Flame Orb!" Gabriel quickly summoned three pulsing dark spheres, launching them at the closest crocs.

ROOOOOOAR!

A single overcharged dark blast was capable of obliterating one croc, so three simultaneously dealt with three crocs at once.

However, despite the death of their kin, the remaining crocs continued to crawl forward.

These crocs weren’t like the ones back on Earth—they were moving at a very fast pace. If one wasn’t quick with their attacks, they’d be overwhelmed.

Gabriel swept his gaze and noticed at least 70 crocs emerging from the lake, all rushing toward them.

"Dammit, just how many are there?!" one of the mages in the team cursed as he fired magic attacks at the approaching horde.

"Ice Lance!" Bunny cast her ice skill in quick succession.

But, even with their combined efforts, the crocs—who had no regard for their lives—only drew closer.

"Dark Flame Orb! Dark Flame Orb!" Gabriel’s expression remained calm as he continued spamming his magic attacks.

One of the crocs successfully reached his feet, and just before it could open its jaws and snap at him—

CRACK!

A violent kick smashed into its head.

The kick alone cracked the skull of the croc and sent it flying back into the distance.

The livestream erupted in shock when they saw how easily Gabriel had cracked the skull of a mutated creature with just a kick.

[Dammit, did he channel all his stats into Strength?! What’s that monstrous power?!]

[That strength doesn’t match his level! A freaking bug!]

[...]

"I need a powerful AoE skill," Gabriel frowned as he continued to spam his dark flames.

However, despite his best efforts, the crocs seemed unending.

"I’ll soon run out of mana!"

"Just how many are inside that lake?!"

Hearing his teammate’s words, Gabriel summoned Crimson Judgement. Afterward, he started bouncing on his feet.

Thud! Thud!

Ironically, although Bunny was the one making the stream, all her attention was fixed on Gabriel—so she was the first to notice him suddenly bouncing.

BANG! BANG!

Cracks formed on the ground whenever his feet touched down, and the battlefield rumbled—making the viewers’ eyes widen.

The crocs, who had been charging toward the others, also paused in their tracks, turning their attention toward Gabriel.

Then, immediately, they abandoned their original targets and began crawling toward him.

Bunny was confused when she saw the strange phenomenon. However, she soon realized it was caused by him.

She glanced at him, a look of awe and fascination shining in her eyes.

’It’s working.’ Gabriel thought, his eyes flashing as he saw that he was drawing all the crocs toward him, giving his team a breather.

Just when they reached an arm’s length, their jaws revealed, ready to shred him into pieces—he gripped Crimson Judgement tightly.

He channeled mana into the blade until it was covered by pulsing crimson light. Then, he began to spin in a circle, cutting all the monsters apart.

With over 140 Agility points, his form became a blur. Those watching could barely see anything. All they saw was crimson light and the body parts of the monsters flying around.

A severed croc head landed near Bunny’s feet. She stared at the head for a moment before lifting her gaze.

She saw thousands of flesh fragments falling from the sky.

It was raining monster body parts!

Everyone stared in awe and disbelief!

There was just something so dangerous and beautiful about the current scene.

There were no comments on the livestream—no one wanted to miss even a single moment of the action.

"Look! Look what I told you!" Doodle exclaimed. "Sir Broken adapts! He turned the battlefield into his workshop!"

Noel was just as speechless. For the first time, she had to agree with Doodle.

"Look at the rankings! The Adventurer Guild is rising!" Doodle pointed out—and indeed, the adventurer group had overtaken the Holy Church by a wide margin and was now slowly approaching the Martial Palace.

Scarlett and the others watched with stunned expressions before slowly breaking into smiles.

Alice paused and stared up at the ranking, a subtle smile on her face.

"That jerk is annoying... but at least he’s very strong."

Sophie, in the midst of the poisonous forest, touched her heart with a pleasant expression on her face.

She had just talked to Bunny on the commlink a few moments ago—which meant she was not responsible for the sudden rise.

If it wasn’t her... then it was him.

"I know I didn’t make the wrong decision when I chose to pursue you." She clenched her fist and swore to make her intentions known after the event.

Liang of the Martial Palace had a speechless look on his face.

"Evelyn, we really underestimated the Adventurer Guild," he said, staring at the sky.

Evelyn maintained a calm composure, though a shocked gleam shone within her eyes.

"I never underestimated them. It seems you forgot about Scarlett... she’s the current vice leader, after all."

"Right..." Liang mumbled.

"She’s dangerously strong, if I recall. I think she’s the one carrying the Adventurer Guild."

Jack and Aria narrowed their eyes.

"Jack, I think you should go all out now," Aria spoke in a dazed voice.

"That... seems to be the only way."

"Ugh, we have no chance at winning this!" a player from the White Flame Guild facepalmed as he saw the massive gap between the top three guilds.

White Flame was dragging fifth with Crimson Star, and both weren’t making significant progress—despite having hundreds of players in their ranks!

The current ranking was...
