CHAPTER 144: SCARLETT’S OVERWHELMING STRENGTH

Within seconds, the front ranks were gone, blood pooling fast enough to stain the ground.

Scarlet flicked her blade, spraying blood aside. Her gaze locked on the hulking figures at the back.

"Your turn," she said coldly.

The goblin generals’ grins vanished as they watched their forces crumble. Even after slaughtering hundreds of goblins, Scarlet didn’t break a single sweat.

Her breathing remained calm, her gaze steady—she was anything but tired.

The two goblin generals were irritated at the sight. They had been certain their army would be enough to weaken her.

They exchanged glances. No words were spoken, but that look alone conveyed everything—they would attack together. Without hesitation, both charged the swordswoman at terrifying speed.

"It has begun," BrawlerX muttered, biting his lip, feeling extremely anxious about the clash.

He wasn’t the only one. Everyone present felt the same, though most managed to mask it.

When the first goblin general closed the distance, he immediately went for Scarlet’s head.

Scarlet had already read his movements before he even made them. She quickly met the cleaver with a slash of her own.

FWISH! CLANG!

As their weapons clashed, a shockwave exploded from the impact, sweeping dust and debris into the air.

Those watching from the sidelines covered their eyes, squinting to see through the haze.

But all they could make out were three blurred figures clashing repeatedly inside the dust storm, each intent on killing the other.

Not even the spectators in the viewing centers could keep up—the three moved at lightning speed, their strikes sending shockwaves rippling outward.

Within the dust, Scarlet danced between the attacks of the two red-skinned goblins with practiced ease.

The first general found an opening and lunged, only for the woman to flicker out of the way.

BANG!

His cleaver struck the ground, the earth exploding upward. He clenched his teeth, an angry gleam in his eyes.

Scarlet parried the second goblin’s attack and followed up with a violent kick that smashed into his chest.

BANG!

The impact sent him flying like a ragdoll. He hit the ground hard, but recovered just as quickly.

Spitting dirt, he charged again.

"She... she’s holding her ground," BrawlerX’s eyes widened in shock. He knew Scarlet was strong, but he didn’t think she would be powerful enough to—

"Maybe the situation is not so hopeless after all."

"It was never hopeless," Lilly, Scarlet’s closest friend and assistant, replied. "This is not the first time the vice leader has fought several powerful enemies at once."

"She... did sh—" BrawlerX stuttered.

Sophie cut in before he could finish. "If she didn’t win, she wouldn’t be here," she said, watching the exchange with calm, narrowed eyes.

’One day, I wish to be stronger than her,’ a determined gleam passed through Sophie’s green eyes beneath her veil.

...

"Die, human!" The first goblin growled, charging recklessly out of frustration from his repeated failures.

At the last instant, Scarlet sidestepped, letting his swing cut through empty space.

BOOM!

The cleaver smashed into the ground with an ear-splitting explosion, shattering stone and sending a tremor through the area. Before he could recover, Scarlet’s slim sword came down in a diagonal arc.

CLANG!

Sparks flew as the second goblin intercepted the strike. A flash of irritation crossed Scarlet’s face.

If he hadn’t interfered, she would have ended one of them right there.

"Lucky," she clicked her tongue, withdrew her blade, and unleashed a furious assault on the second goblin.

’It seems I pissed her off by saving brother there.’ The goblin general’s blood ran cold as he struggled to block her well-timed, precise strikes.

"Aghhhhhh!" he roared in pain as her blade pierced his skin, blood pooling at his feet.

From behind, Scarlet sensed a shadow charging. Despite his best attempt to be sneaky, the hero-rank swordswoman easily picked up on the anger and killing intent radiating from him.

Lightning-fast, before the shadow could close the last few meters, she spun and slashed the air.

"Silver Moon Slash!"

From the side, a knowing smirk formed on Lilly’s face.

"He’s done for!"

From the tip of Scarlet’s blade, a pulsing silver arc exploded forward, splitting the air and rushing toward the approaching goblin general at monstrous speed.

FWOOOSH!!

The goblin’s eyes shrank. He barely had time to lift his cleaver before the arc slammed into him.

KRAAASH! BOOM!

-29000 (Fatal Hit)

His weapon shattered into millions of fragments that scattered across the ground.

The blast carved a deep crater into the earth, smoke and dust billowing outward.

When the haze cleared, the general was sprawled in the dirt, his chest split open in a deep diagonal cut that exposed his internal organs.

"Brother!" The first goblin lunged again, aiming for Scarlet’s torso.

But she knocked his attack aside and delivered a vicious slash across his arm. Black-red blood sprayed into the air.

"Aghhhhhhhhhhhh!" he roared in pain, retreating several steps.

But seconds later, his arm regenerated completely.

The red-skinned goblin flexed it and smirked.

Scarlet remained calm. ’Regeneration skill. It can only heal injuries... I’m sure a weak, normal monster like this shouldn’t possess such a skill. If it were a boss-rank monster, it would be understandable.’

She had faced her fair share of enemies with regeneration abilities and knew how troublesome they could be.

Seeing the confident grin on the goblin’s face, she could tell—he still had something up his sleeve.
