CHAPTER 147: THROG’S DEATH

It was pretty normal for guilds to ambush each other during the events, so Ken already had an idea of why they were stalking the Adventurer Guild.

"A little help from them might guarantee success." He smirked, a plan forming in his head.

By now, IceQueen had noticed the Crimson Star Guild. At first, the ChaosKnight members were both alerted and frightened.

Crimson Star was part of the Big Five after all, and with their current strength, if a clash were to occur, not even the Holy Church would be fast enough to come save them.

However, IceQueen and ChaosCleric remained calm because they couldn’t sense any hostile aura from them.

"The last time I checked, the Holy Church and the Crimson Star Guild were on good terms," IceQueen said as the distance between her and Ken shortened.

"That’s true." Ken nodded. "But I’m not here for you."

When he said that, all the members of the ChaosKnight Guild let out a sigh of relief.

"You’re here for the Adventurer Guild too, aren’t you?" Ken inquired a moment later.

"Yes, the Holy Church tasked us to take Broken Heaven down." IceQueen’s reply came with a gleam of hatred flashing across her eyes at the mere mention of that name.

A wide grin appeared on Ken’s handsome face. "It seems we’re after the same person."

"How about this?" ChaosCleric interjected. "We form a temporary alliance and take down Broken Heaven."

"Fine with me." Ken shrugged.

Afterward, he ordered the rest of the Crimson Star members to surround the battlefield while using the trees as cover.

Unaware that he had been completely surrounded by thousands of players and NPCs, Gabriel continued fighting the three goblin generals with fierce, unyielding determination.

Around him, the other members of the Adventurer Guild were still locked in combat against the goblin army.

Because the normal goblins were much weaker, the human side seemed to be gaining the upper hand.

In the middle of it all was Gabriel, currently being circled by the three goblin generals—Blurka, Thrixia, and Throg, who had picked himself up once more.

Underneath Gabriel, there was a pool of blood—both his and his enemies’—and his health was dangerously low.

’This fight is dragging longer than anticipated.’ A deep frown crept onto Gabriel’s face. He tightened his grasp on Crimson Judgement.

"Not bad, human," Blurka said through clenched teeth. "You’re much more durable than I thought."

"The stronger they are, the more satisfying it is when you finally subdue them." Thrixia smirked.

Between the two female goblins, Throg breathed heavily and shot a hateful glare at the human who had left him in such a pitiful state.

"I’m not subduing anyone for you to have your sick fantasies. For the humiliation he’s caused, the only thing this human deserves is death!" Throg roared and charged once more.

Even though his entire body was aching, Gabriel quickly sprang into motion. His left eye seemed to glow intensely, and he smirked.

"Got you."

Suddenly, Throg found himself unable to move forward. When he looked down, he realized there was a glowing circle beneath his feet.

"Throg!" Both Thrixia and Blurka screamed at once and charged forward, but it was too late—Gabriel was the only one close enough to the trapped goblin.

"Die!!!" he roared as he swung his blade in a wide arc.

Throg saw his life flash before his eyes and felt the chilling embrace of death. He tried desperately to move, but he didn’t even budge.

In the end, he could only cry out, "Merc—"

SHHHK!

Crimson Judgement flashed, and a fountain of blood erupted from where the goblin’s head used to be. Moments later, the head thudded to the ground at its owner’s feet.

Gabriel stomped the head, crushing it, and coldly glared at the two remaining goblins.

In the studio, Doodle bit his lips, resisting the urge to jump up and celebrate, knowing there were still two left, and Sir Broken had only taken out the weakest one.

"Y-you killed him!"

Veins bulged on Thrixia’s head. Her spear spun like a blur, the tip glowing crimson as she dashed in. "Piercing Rush!" she roared, thrusting forward. The ground cracked under her feet from the momentum.

Gabriel sidestepped just in time, the spear grazing his ribs.

Even through his Iron Skin, Gabriel felt the pain. Blood trickled from his mouth.

He wiped it with his sleeve. Before she could recover, he swung his blade horizontally—forcing her to leap back or lose her head.

However, this cost Gabriel as he was now left open.

Blurka didn’t waste the opening.

"Twin Fang Assault!"

Her dual blades became a storm of slashes, each one aimed at a vital point.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Gabriel’s arms blurred, parrying each strike, the air sizzling with the sound of steel-on-steel. His health bar dipped slightly—she was fast, too fast for him to fully counter without committing mana.

He used Burrow Shift, vanishing into the ground and appearing right behind Blurka, striking forward.

The goblin general seemed to have read him and activated a movement skill that propelled her out of his attack range.

From the side, he noticed Thrixia rushing toward him.

"Dark Flame Orb!"

Three orbs of dark flame shot out. Thrixia successfully dodged two; however, one struck her, blasting her into a cluster of green goblins.

’Not enough damage!’ Gabriel growled as he brought up his sword to parry Blurka’s strike.

The two disengaged once more, and Gabriel—while keeping Iron Body active—headbutted Blurka.

BANG!

Blurka staggered backward, a hiss escaping her lips as blood trickled from her forehead.

"Ouch!" she growled softly, then grinned. "All of this pain—you’ll feel triple of it when I finally make you my dog!"

"Quit talking." Gabriel waved his hand dismissively. "You look less hideous with your mouth closed."

A big vein throbbed on Blurka’s temple. She had always prided herself as the most beautiful goblin in her camp. All the males wanted her.

In fact, she even had several partners at home, and yet... this human dared to call her ugly!

Blurka’s eyes twitched violently as she murmured, "Fine... I’ll carve that mouth off first!"

She lunged, her blades moving in a whirlwind. Gabriel met her head-on, sparks flying with every clash. Each impact rattled his arms, but he didn’t falter.

However, his health points were now dangerously close to the bottom.

At the same time, in the distance, Ken and IceQueen both smirked from the treeline. Their trap was ready—soon, Broken Heaven would have nowhere to run.
