Chapter 148: Charm Spell
CHAPTER 148: CHARM SPELL
"Master..." Anna gasped as she noticed Gabriel fighting two goblin generals all by himself.
One might’ve thought the fight would have gotten easier with Throg dead. However, that was far from the case—the two female goblins were even more furious now that one of their own had fallen.
They were going all out!
"And I can’t even help!" she frowned as she drove her heel into the guts of a green goblin, crushing it.
Although a good number of goblins had been slain, it almost appeared as if they hadn’t made any progress at all. They were easy to kill, but their overwhelming numbers gave them the advantage.
"Blink! Blink! Blink!" Anna repeated like a broken tape as she flashed through the enemy ranks.
After cutting down a sufficient number, she finally paused and swept her gaze around the battlefield.
When her eyes landed on Gabriel—drenched in blood, still fighting with unyielding spirit—her eyes flashed sharply, and she vanished into thin air.
Gabriel cast Dark Flame Orb at Blurka, the twin-blade wielding goblin general.
Blurka expertly shifted her weight from side to side, attempting to dodge the blast, but it was futile.
After his level-up, Dark Flame Orb seemed to possess a subconscious will of its own.

-10000 (Critical Hit!)
The goblin general let out an angry grunt as she closed the distance. From the side, Thrixia lunged forward with her spear.
"Guard’s Robe!" Gabriel called out, and a transparent barrier encased him just before the two attacks connected.
BANG! BOOM!
The Guard’s Robe, though gold rank, wasn’t powerful enough to withstand the strength of two hero-rank monsters at once. It shattered instantly.
But the brief moment it held was enough—Gabriel had already activated Burrow Shift, escaping the trajectory of their strikes.
A furious look crossed both goblins’ faces as they saw him pop out of the ground a short distance away.
"Run! Run all you want, you can’t escape us!" Thrixia sneered, stomping the ground. She leapt up and hurled her spear at the human.
"Thrixia, don’t kill him! We still need him alive, did you forget?" Blurka frowned when she saw the bluish energy surrounding the spear.
"He won’t die from that. If he does, then he’s not worth the stress," Thrixia spat back.
FWOOOSH!
The spear whistled through the air, its tip gleaming ominously. Gabriel didn’t want to take chances trying to block it, so he did the next best thing that came to mind.
With a powerful kick, he launched himself out of the weapon’s trajectory.
BOOM!
The spear struck where he had been standing. The ground exploded inward, collapsing into a crater several meters deep.
"Told you," Thrixia shrugged and started walking forward.
Blurka hesitated, but eventually followed.
[HP: 20/100]
Gabriel sneaked a quick glance at his health bar, and his expression turned grim.
’I can’t afford to take another hit,’ he frowned. ’And I also can’t use Blood Rush.’
After every use of Blood Rush, Gabriel was temporarily left weakened. In that state, even a level 1 existence could snuff the life out of him. With the goblins still having numbers on their side, he didn’t dare risk it.
’So this leaves me with what?’ he thought, gripping his weapon tightly, his eyes fixed on the two generals closing in once again.
"You killed one of us already, you should be proud of yourself," Blurka said coldly, spinning her blades as wind currents lifted her hair into the air.
Pointing one sword at him, she declared, "Surrender now. Follow us, and I promise you—you’ll be treated no different than a king."
"Of course," Thrixia smirked. "That too has a price. I hope you have enough stamina to keep up with us in the other room."
Gabriel’s eyebrow twitched. A weeb from Earth might’ve seen this as a god-sent opportunity to live a life of riches and pleasure.
But Gabriel only saw them as hideous creatures.
Mistaking his intense stare for lust, the two goblin generals began swaying their hips and making flirtatious faces.
Suddenly, the look of disgust left Gabriel’s face, replaced by a gleam of admiration.
"He’s falling, fufufufu, I knew he’d come around!" Blurka giggled.
"Yes, all the previous humans couldn’t resist us either. He’s no different! I almost thought our special Charm Skill had no effect on him."
"I... I accept," Gabriel muttered, throwing his sword several meters away. The blade sank deep into the ground.
...
Just a short distance away, Bunny’s eyes trembled as she saw Gabriel’s sword land with a heavy thud.
If not for Ragnarok’s timely intervention, she would’ve been killed just then.
"W-wait... WHAT?! Is he actually surrendering?!" she gasped.
Ragnarok99, who had logged back in earlier, frowned. Disappointment flashed across his face.
...
Bunny’s Stream:

...
"I knew you’d come along," Blurka said proudly. After seeing him toss aside his sword, both she and Thrixia were convinced they had won him over.
Blurka caressed his face while Thrixia hugged him from behind, sniffing him with a satisfied expression.
Leaning close, Blurka whispered softly in his ear, "Good... now tell your men to surrender, and follow us ba—"
"I said it before, and I’ll say it again," Gabriel’s voice rang out coldly. "You both are hideous!"
The expressions on both goblins twisted in shock, but before they could react, a glowing circle appeared beneath their feet. Gabriel’s palm flared with dark necrotic energy.
"Decay!" he smiled, activating one of the most powerful skills in his arsenal.
