Chapter 150: No Mana
CHAPTER 150: NO MANA
"Ladies and gentlemen!" the commentator’s voice exploded with excitement. "The Adventurer Guild has just been surrounded by not one, but TWO rival guilds—Crimson Star and ChaosKnight—in what looks like a perfectly coordinated ambush!"
The Crimson Star and ChaosKnight guilds surrounded the Adventurer Guild, weapons drawn and faces filled with determination.
Most of Crimson Star’s members wielded special mana guns, the tips glowing with a faint bluish light.
A trace of annoyance flashed across Gabriel’s face as he tightened his grip on Crimson Judgement.
"I expected Crimson Star to show up," he said calmly, not even a shred of panic detectable in his eyes. "However, I didn’t think ChaosKnight would be foolish enough to keep coming after me."
One would think she would have given up after being defeated over and over again, yet she still chose to come after him.
Gabriel didn’t know whether to call this bravery or stupidity.
But he was leaning more toward the latter.
IceQueen’s eyes twitched; she clearly wanted to retort. However, Ken, the vice leader of Crimson Star, raised a hand, silencing her.
Ken looked at those present and said in a deep voice, "We only want Gabriel Reyes. If you hand him over, we promise to let everyone else go."
When they heard this, several members of the Adventurer Guild gasped, not expecting such a demand.
They had thought Crimson Star would ask for their points, which would have put them in the top two, giving them a chance to compete for first place.
"Bastard." Alice sneered, gripping her dagger tightly. "If you think we’ll let that happen, then you must be the most delusional person in the world. Who the fuck even are you?"
"Alice is right." Anna nodded. "If you want Master, you’ll have to go through us."
"Yes! Sir Broken is going nowhere!" Ragnarok99 roared, stepping out of the crowd.
A slow smirk appeared on Ken’s face, his gaze never leaving Gabriel. "You’re weak. I can barely sense an ounce of mana on you. I trust you’ll make the right choice."
At his words, a vein bulged on Alice’s temple. She wanted nothing more than to teleport across the field and slit his throat.
But she couldn’t—not with dozens of mana guns aimed their way.
One move, and they’d open fire.
Even if their warriors and mages were strong, not many could outrun a bullet.
Suddenly, Gabriel shifted, and the hundreds of men from Crimson Star and ChaosKnight flinched back.
Though clearly weakened, they didn’t dare underestimate the monster who had taken down three Hero-rank enemies.
Especially ChaosCleric. Standing further back, his face went pale. After having his head smashed into pulp repeatedly, he had developed a kind of PTSD. He now flinched every time his eyes landed on Gabriel.
Left to him alone, they wouldn’t even be here.
’Damn it, I never signed up for this!’ he thought, his face twisting with anxiety. ’All I wanted was to play and enjoy the game, not to keep being killed! Does she find pleasure in being killed?’
Back at the front, Gabriel’s expression remained neutral.
"Indeed, you’re right. My mana has run out."
"I knew you were a smart one." Ken smiled.
"However..." Gabriel continued, his voice turning cold. "I didn’t think Crimson Star would stoop so low—allying with ChaosKnight to target an enemy when they’re at their lowest point."
"You bastard!" IceQueen’s eyes went bloodshot with anger. Gabriel’s words were subtle, but they stung more than anything else.
Ken’s eyebrow twitched. He knew Gabriel was right—it was a low move. But he had witnessed Gabriel, a mere level 50 existence who had yet to complete his first class advancement, take down three Hero-rank monsters.
Even if it was done with some trickery and deceit, it didn’t change the fact that Gabriel had come out on top.
After witnessing this, only a fool would underestimate him.
"Everything is fair in war, my friend," Ken replied with a smile. "Now calmly hand yourself over, or we’ll use force and end everyone here along with you."
A flash of coldness passed through Gabriel’s electric-blue eyes. "I don’t have mana. Doesn’t mean I can’t fight."
Ken’s eyes narrowed, but before he could act, a word escaped Gabriel’s lips.
"Devil Mirage Technique!"
And then he moved.
"W-what?!" Ken, IceQueen, and the guild members widened their eyes as they saw countless Gabriels charging at them all at once.
They weren’t the only ones deceived—even his allies froze.
"Fire! Fire at all of them!" Ken roared. The tips of the mana guns lit up, and his arm recoiled as a storm of bullets rained down on Gabriel.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
"Take cover!" Alice shouted as she activated her skill, vanishing and reappearing behind the gunslingers, slitting throats one after another.
"Attack!" IceQueen roared, and over a thousand members of the ChaosKnight guild charged in.
"Ladies and gentlemen, just when we thought it was all over, the ChaosKnight and Crimson Star have come for the Adventurer Guild!"
Back in the studio, Doodle announced with a grin.
"Doodle, what do you think? Any chance of them winning?" Noel asked.
"Of course not!" Doodle replied confidently. "Sir Broken took down three Hero-rank enemies! You think a bunch of players and the second-weakest guild of the Big Five can stop him? Hell no!"
And truthfully, Doodle’s words weren’t baseless.
At that very moment, Gabriel appeared in front of the first gunslinger. His blade flashed, and the man’s body split cleanly into two parts.
He spun, his fist smashing into another’s face, blowing it clean off his neck.
Another player slashed furiously, thinking he had caught him.
FWISH! SLASH!
The Crimson Star member’s sword cut through thin air, missing completely.
"What the—?!" the man shouted, but before he could react, Gabriel’s knee slammed into his stomach. Blood spewed from his mouth as his body flew several meters back, crashing into three allies.
"Keep shooting! Don’t stop!" Ken roared, veins bulging on his forehead and his blood running cold. "He was supposed to be weakened! How the heck is he still fighting?!"
