CHAPTER 182: A UNIQUE CLASS

"G-Gabriel Reyes." The receptionist mumbled, her face pale.

Gabriel raised a brow. He knew he had caused waves during the competition, but did it really warrant this kind of reaction?

He was about to walk away and maybe look for someone else when the receptionist snapped back to reality. Her earlier shock was now replaced with excitement.

"You... are you really Gabriel Reyes?" she stuttered, her voice carrying a trace of disbelief.

"Yes, I am." Gabriel nodded calmly.

Right before his eyes, the receptionist began to breathe rapidly, almost hyperventilating. For a second, Gabriel thought she was having a seizure.

"I-I’m a big fan of yours!" she exclaimed loudly, attracting the attention of everyone present.

Gabriel appeared calm on the outside, though he wondered if perhaps he should have kept his disguise. At the same time, he knew that if he didn’t reveal himself, it would be difficult to get the receptionist to summon the most relevant person here.

Click! Click!

Gabriel heard several flashes behind him. Turning, he saw a few people snapping pictures.

The commotion drew in security, who quickly stepped in to stop the crowd from taking more photos.

Meanwhile, the receptionist typed frantically on her desk phone and made a call.

On the other side, a loud voice bellowed, "Are you sure about what you’re saying? Gabriel Reyes is in the Association?!"

"Yes, sir, he’s right in front of me!" the receptionist said, barely able to contain her excitement.

"I’m on my way! Don’t let him go anywhere!"

Moments later, a man burst through the doors.

"My name is Sebas. How can I help you?" The man, dressed in a suit with a bald head, bowed slightly before Gabriel.

"I’m here to take my class advancement quest," Gabriel replied, his chin raised. "Are you the one in charge of the Association?"

Sebas gave a bitter smile. "I’m the vice president, but you need not worry. I can handle anything you require."

Gabriel thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright then, lead the way. It would be best if we continue this discussion somewhere private."

"Sure... sure," Sebas repeated several times as he led Gabriel toward the elevator.

Gabriel was amused by everything that was happening. He could swear that just a month ago, when he had first come to this world, he was at the bottom of the ladder, treated like trash. Now, even a powerhouse like the vice president of the Association was groveling before him.

During the elevator ride, Sebas stayed unusually quiet, sneaking glances at Gabriel as if to confirm he was indeed the same young man who had shocked the entire kingdom.

Of course, Gabriel noticed his stares, but he acted as if oblivious.

The ride was awkward, but fortunately, they arrived at the next floor just in time to avoid suffocation.

Vice President Sebas led Gabriel to his office and shut the door behind him.

Gabriel sat down.

"If Sir Gabriel doesn’t mind, may I know what class you are?" Sebas asked respectfully.

"That’s the reason I wanted to speak with someone in a high position." Gabriel’s voice was firm as he stared directly into Sebas’ eyes. "Can I have your word that you’ll keep whatever I tell you here a secret?"

When Sebas met those intense electric-blue eyes that seemed to pierce his very soul, he gulped. A thin line of sweat rolled down his temple.

Eventually, he cleared his throat and straightened his tie. "It is Sir Gabriel’s choice whether or not the public learns of his class. The Association is a neutral party. We swore a sacred oath decades ago to only reveal class information if the individual wishes it."

In his past life, Gabriel had indeed seen a player mention this before.

"Very well then." Gabriel nodded. "My class is a bit special."

Sebas’ eyes widened as he began connecting the dots. Perhaps it was because of this class that Gabriel was able to steal the spotlight of the entire event.

"How special is it?" Sebas asked, leaning forward, his voice full of intrigue.

"Special in a way that I am the only existing wielder."

Boom! It was as if an explosion had gone off inside Sebas’ head when he heard this.

"You... you mean to say you have a Unique Class?" Sebas gasped, unable to believe his ears.

How many people in the Valerian Kingdom possessed a Unique Class? They could be counted on one hand!

Unique Classes allowed only one wielder at a time. They were considered broken, as they came with extraordinary skills and abilities.

It took a while, but Sebas calmed his nerves. "Sir Gabriel, what’s the name of this class?"

"Berserker," Gabriel replied.

"Berserker... Berserker. Where have I heard that name before?" Sebas muttered as he rose from his seat and walked toward a massive bookshelf along the wall.

The shelves contained records of all known classes—at least the ones humanity was familiar with. It took him about thirty minutes of searching before he finally pulled out a book with Berserker Body written on it.

Bam!

Sebas dropped the book in the middle of the table, causing a cloud of dust to rise. Gabriel’s eyes gleamed with curiosity as he stared at it.

He flipped through the pages and found the same description he had seen when he first awakened his class.

[Berserkers are warriors who laugh in the face of death—existences that never retreat, never kneel, and never break. They are forged in battle, tempered by blood, and driven by an unrelenting will to conquer.

The path of the Berserker is not one of defense or restraint, but of glorious carnage and absolute dominance.

This class is reserved for one who has stood tall against overwhelming odds, who has bled without faltering, and who has found joy in the slaughter.]

The book, however, had dozens of pages missing. He wasn’t able to learn anything truly useful. The only thing he confirmed was the nature of the class and its foundation.

"So, does that mean my class advancement quest is available here in the Association?" Gabriel asked, a trace of hope in his voice.

"Definitely," Sebas nodded eagerly. His tone, though, was much lower and more careful than before. "If Sir Gabriel doesn’t mind, please follow me."

Gabriel noticed how Sebas’ way of addressing him had changed. The vice president was now more respectful, treating him almost like royalty.

And it was no surprise. Sebas was certain Gabriel would become a powerhouse.

All those who awakened a Unique Class eventually rose to power and were respected by kingdoms across the world.

Sebas could feel history repeating itself before his eyes.
