CHAPTER 298: THE UNLIKABLE VAMPIRE MUTANT

The room was massive, wide enough to fit a small stadium, but everyone’s eyes were stuck on the throne at the center.

The Vampire Mutant didn’t move.

Its skin was corpse-white and stretched tightly across exaggerated muscles. Its skull helmet dripped blood from the eye sockets. Razor bones jutted out of its elbows, shoulders, spine, and ribs like natural weapons. Its fanged grin widened slowly when it noticed them enter.

Gabriel’s expression didn’t change—but his jaw tightened.

Anna silently stepped closer, whispering, "Master... your heartbeat is fast."

"Ignore it," Gabriel said calmly. "Fall back."

"Leader?" Bunny asked, confused. "But we can—"

"You can’t fight this one."

There was no debate in his tone. One sentence froze everyone.

They didn’t understand, but the authority in Gabriel’s eyes made them step back immediately. Even the players who usually made snarky comments kept their mouths shut.

Gabriel took one step forward.

And the ground cracked under his foot.

Sophie stared at his back. "He... he’s angry."

No one answered, but they all knew.

Gabriel never showed emotions. Not even when he killed bosses, crushed rival players, or wiped monsters with his bare hands. But right now...

His shoulders were trembling slightly.

Not from fear.

From rage.

---

The Vampire Mutant stood up from its bone throne. The ground shook slightly.

"Guuuuuuuuh—"

Its throat bubbled with a disgusting wet sound before it growled deeply, like a beast recognizing prey it had killed before.

Gabriel stared at it and then spoke, "I remember you."

The guild members blinked. That was the first time they had heard Gabriel say something like that to a monster.

He continued slowly.

"You killed me dozens of times."

Everyone stiffened.

Killed?

What is he talking about?

Gabriel lifted his greatsword off his back with one hand. The blade hummed with weight as if recognizing its owner’s killing intent.

’In my last life, you spawn-killed me repeatedly. You camped the respawn point. You tore me apart every time I revived.’

The memories flashed sharply.

The Mutant ripping his arm off.

The Mutant biting into his neck.

The Mutant dragging his corpse across the ground.

The Mutant laughing in that disgusting gargled voice as Gabriel screamed, unable to escape the respawn loop.

His fingers tightened on the hilt, and he stepped forward.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

The Vampire Mutant roared and shot forward like a bullet. The players couldn’t even see the movement—one moment it was at the throne, the next it was in Gabriel’s face.

The vampire swiped forward, and a blood spear formed instantly in its left hand.

Gabriel moved before the spear fully materialized.

BOOM!!

The floor exploded as he vanished from sight.

The Mutant swung, but its claws cut only air.

Sophie’s eyes trembled. "Fast... he’s faster than when he fought Andrew..."

"No, he’s angry," Anna muttered. "Master isn’t holding back his body speed anymore."

CRACK!

Gabriel appeared behind the Mutant and swung his greatsword downward like a guillotine.

The blade connected.

BANG!!!

The force sent the monster flying across the room. Its massive body tore through three stone pillars before slamming into a wall, burying half its torso in it.

But the moment dust rose—

The Mutant’s body twitched.

A huge chunk of its shoulder reformed instantly. Bone spikes regrew from the wounds. The cracked skull helmet knitted back together.

"Regeneration," Ragnarok99 muttered. "It’s recovering faster than all the ones we faced."

"No... this one is on another level," Sophie said. "This monster is very powerful... maybe that’s why he told us to fall back. We might just get in his way."

The Mutant ripped itself out of the wall. Blood dripped from its mouth, but its red eyes burned fiercely.

Then—

—its silhouette vanished.

"Huh?!"

Players panicked as the Mutant reappeared right in front of Gabriel, claws extended.

Gabriel’s eyes didn’t even blink.

He simply stepped forward.

SWOOSH!

The claw swiped past his cheek by a hair.

He didn’t counter with his blade. Instead, he punched savagely with his bare fist.

BAM!!!

The Mutant’s head snapped backward from the blow. Its neck twisted at a grotesque angle as it was sent skidding backward.

Before it stabilized, Gabriel was already there. He didn’t use skills. He didn’t use mana. He didn’t shout. He didn’t waste movement. He simply swung his greatsword again.

BOOOOOM!

Half the Mutant’s torso was cut clean off.

Everyone gasped.

But as the massive chunk of flesh hit the floor, it twitched... then squirmed... then bubbled.

And a new torso grew.

In seconds, the Mutant was standing tall, whole, and grinning with blood-soaked fangs.

"Grrrrrrrrr...!"

Ragnarok99 gulped. "This regen is insane—how do we even kill something like that?!"

The others looked horrified. Usually vampires had good regeneration, but never this fast or this extreme... this was a whole new level entirely.

While the group was whispering, Gabriel was already on the move. He appeared beside the Mutant and kicked its knee this time.

KRAAACK!!

The bone broke sideways. The Mutant fell slightly.

Gabriel swung horizontally once again.

SWISH!

Its right arm detached and flew across the room.

Then the left arm.

Then its legs.

Each time they fell, the pieces regenerated instantly, growing from the stumps as if the monster were made of living clay.

Someone whispered, horrified, "D-Does it even have a weak spot?"

"Fuck!"

Meanwhile, Gabriel continued to clash with the Mutant.

BOOM!!!

He punched the creature in the face so hard its head exploded.

Red mist sprayed everywhere, but then a fresh head grew instantly.

He punched again.

Another explosion of flesh.

Another head grew.

Again.

Again.

Again.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Players stared with pale faces.

"H-He’s not... giving it a chance to recover!"

"I don’t know... maybe if he keeps cutting it apart, it’ll eventually die."

Bunny watched all this and felt like it was a good thing she had stopped streaming earlier. She had already missed some juicy scenes, but she was still in time.

"Let’s do this." A grin slowly spread across her face as she tapped her live button, notifying millions of people across the world while stepping forward.
