God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!
Chapter 316: They Arrive [2]
CHAPTER 316: THEY ARRIVE [2]
A few minutes prior, Gabriel could be seen wiping out the vampires at a rapid pace. Red light tore through the corridor, and whenever it passed through a vampire, the vampire was split in half.
The red lights were Gabriel’s concentrated mana, which he had channelled into his blade. Whenever he slashed his sword, it let out an arc—an arc that sliced through several vampires in a row.
It was a one-sided massacre, and Gabriel’s clothes were stained with blood, none of which belonged to him. He wasn’t as elegant as Scarlett, Sophie, or Alice. He was brute.
Those two women could literally walk into a slaughterhouse and come out without a bloodstain on them.
As for Gabriel, every part of his body was a weapon, so it was impossible for him not to get tainted unless he was extremely careful.
Right at that moment, a vampire snuck up on Gabriel from behind. Even without looking, his hand shot backward and grabbed the vampire’s face.
Gabriel’s hand was quite large, so it effortlessly covered the vampire’s head. The creature happened to have an extremely petite frame.
Without hesitation, he smashed her head through the wall. Blood and brain matter exploded out, causing the pool of blood beneath Gabriel’s foot to increase.
"They’re getting scared." Gabriel’s eyes flashed as he noticed the vampires were beginning to retreat.
He wasn’t surprised. This wasn’t the first time they had displayed some semblance of intelligence. Even back at the main hall, they had flinched out of fear when Gabriel and Liang were having a stare-down.
Even if they behaved mindlessly and attacked anything on sight, there seemed to be that primal instinct that recognised when something was beyond them or too powerful.
"Grrrrr!" One of the vampires made a strange sound. It seemed to be the most powerful vampire here.
It turned on its heel and was about to flee deeper into the corridor.
"Drake Flame Orb."
A cold, calm voice uttered.
Though he wasn’t close to them, the voice sounded as if he were whispering into their ears, making a coldness crawl down their spines.
Moments later, a sharp whoosh tore through the air as three spiralling dark orbs exploded out of Gabriel’s fingertips.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
All three connected with the vampires, blowing off their heads. The remains of their bodies scattered across the ground, breaking into several pieces like marble glass.
Some time later, after Gabriel finished dealing with the monsters here, he walked deeper into the cave but still didn’t encounter any more enemies.
He sat on a burly-looking vampire corpse and waited, thinking they would sniff him out and attack him.
Seconds stretched on but nothing happened. To kill time, he pulled out his status screen.
All this while, Gabriel had been extracting the corpses of almost all those he had killed, and he had been extracting stats from his victims... so thus far, his stats had gone through quite the changes compared to when he first entered.

Previously, Gabriel’s highest stat had been Strength. However, the vampires’ major trait was their speed. Except for the mutants, the average vampire wasn’t that strong.
As such, the stat that increased the most was Agility.
As for his EP, it had been fluctuating. He had entered the tower with 700 EP, and although he had used some, he was killing just as much, which caused the points to pile up and remain relatively stable.
Some time later, he shifted his attention from his status screen and looked ahead...
Silence.
There were no hisses, growls, or piercing bloody red eyes.
"I guess that was all for this passage," Gabriel said as he slowly stood up from his makeshift seat and explored the passageways.
On Liang’s passageway, the martial artist had just finished dealing with the last vampire with a palm strike towards its heart.
BANG!
The palm, despite not hitting metal, resonated loudly as the vampire was knocked off its feet and flew back, smashing into the wall.
Liang dusted his hands and said with a frown, "These were tough even for me... I better start conserving my strength. If not, I’ll be burnt out."
"Was that all?" he asked out of habit, to no one in particular.
If someone were to see him now, they might think he was suffering from some mental illness... but in reality, it was something most cultivators did.
They were people who trained in seclusion, indoors or on distant mountains. The only way they could keep their sanity was by speaking to themselves.
"I guess I should check it out," he said, strolling deeper into the passageway.
He barely took a few steps before he saw the faint silhouette of a figure. Liang only saw the outline, and he instinctively channelled qi into his fist.
’I knew they wouldn’t be gone just like that,’ he thought, clicking his tongue.
Liang didn’t rush blindly inside. He waited for whoever it was to come into the light.
Whether it sensed him or not, the figure continued to walk forward, calm and measured.
Liang frowned, realising that this figure had far too much composure compared to the mindless beasts that would pounce on anything with a pulsing heart.
A pair of electric blue eyes flashed in the dark.
Liang recognised those eyes and subconsciously let down his guard.
Moments later, Gabriel stepped into the light.
"No need to go that side. I already cleared all the monsters," he said with a straight face as he walked past Liang. "Let’s go look for the others."
"Fast," Liang muttered under his breath, his eyes shining as he watched Gabriel’s broad back.
They passed several vampire corpses, and a look of pure dissatisfaction crossed Liang’s face.
"To think these bloodsuckers won’t drop anything... useless monsters."
Technically, they weren’t monsters but a race—similar to humans.
Suddenly, at that moment, a fleeting thought crossed Gabriel’s mind.
If the main feature of this tower was vampires... did that mean that somewhere in the future, humans could also feature in the tower as monsters?
It was a scary thought. He shook his head and dismissed it.
Moments later, they arrived at the passageway where the others were,
and both men froze in their steps.
