CHAPTER 331: FLOOR 100(1)

[Ding! Broken Dawn has cleared Floor 99]

The bold notification rang out loud both inside and outside of the tower.

Everyone was momentarily stunned. They seemed to forget how to speak, just staring at the screen.

Scarlet, who was standing amidst the crowd alongside members of her guild, looked up at the massive display screen, a strange light flashing through her eyes.

There was a hint of pride and admiration in those pale blue eyes—something rare for Scarlet, who was notorious for masking her emotions.

"He really did it..." she muttered under her breath and silently activated her skill. When she read the results, her eyes widened in shock.

’He’s still stuck at level 50, but somehow he increased his stats...’ she muttered internally.

Others might wonder how Gabriel was fighting opponents far higher leveled than him. It sounded illogical, however the truth was obvious.

She had noticed this same exact phenomenon during the Inter-Guild Display Event... and now that she had witnessed it again, it eradicated all doubts in her mind.

She was almost ninety percent certain that Gabriel’s illogical stats were a result of his innate talent—just like hers was.

On another side, Ares watched the expression of the young man who had taken down a level 110 vampire in a series of quick exchanges.

"Clever... he used the shield as a smokescreen and then snuck up with that thing behind his opponent."

Speaking of that thing, he couldn’t help but shift his gaze to the towering frame of Grizzlenaught, who had an obvious resemblance to Gabriel.

Red fur and piercing electric blue eyes.

Even a fool could tell that whatever creature it was—belonged to Gabriel.

"Without that, the fight would have dragged out like the others," the figure standing beside him commented as well. "This is the easiest Hero Rank death I’ve ever seen."

Ares felt a slight shiver run down his spine. He briefly imagined switching places with the vampire duke, thinking about how he would escape such a situation—but nothing came to mind.

’Someone like him needs to be in my guild. That way he could grow better.’ Ares grinned mischievously.

Although Olympus had lost, he wasn’t too worried now. He intended to recruit Gabriel, and whatever reward Gabriel received in this tower would automatically strengthen Olympus as well.

"With the promise of a high position, surely he won’t refuse my offer." Ares laughed, already envisioning the prosperous future Olympus would have after Gabriel joined.

Finally, the crowd—who had been stuck in a trance-like state, too stunned by how swiftly a powerhouse had been killed—began to react.

"Pinch me, I must be dreaming! Did Broken Dawn just take down the Floor 99 boss?"

"Holy hell, they really did!"

"Hahahaha! They’re heading to Floor 100—no one saw this coming!"

"Hahahaha, they did it! We all thought the level 100 monster would be difficult for Broken Dawn, and there he goes shocking us by making its death easy and painful!" Doodle announced into his mic, spit flying everywhere.

The normally calm co-host barely maintained composure. "That trickery... he fooled even us!" he said, voice trembling with excitement.

...

Across the entire Valerian Kingdom there was cheering and jubilation—and of course, fights and heated arguments, especially from those whose favourite guild failed to kill the Floor 99 boss in time.

Naturally, the most pissed faction was the ChaosKnight Guild. Not only had they embarrassed themselves in this tower run, but their number one enemy had once again taken the lead.

"Are we on a cursed streak or what!" ChaosCleric sighed. "It’s almost as if even the universe doesn’t want us to go against him... if only she could take the hint."

As he said this, he couldn’t help but shift his gaze to the front where IceQueen stood in her dented armour—a result of the brutal battles that took place in the tower.

She was clenching her fists so tightly her nails dug into her skin. Thick red veins bulged at her temple.

’All the grinding, all the dungeon hunting... just for him to steal the spotlight again.’ she thought, gritting her teeth. ’Even the Church has begun to lose hope in us.’

She stood still for a few moments before turning around and walking away. She didn’t need to say anything to the gathered ChaosKnight members—they simply followed her, disappearing from the scene.

Meanwhile inside the tower, the other two guilds—Martial Palace and Olympus—also received the notification, and their jaws almost dropped to the ground in shock.

The most shocked were Jack, Aria, Liang, and Evelyn.

These four had faced the vampire duke head-on. They knew how powerful it was. Among the two guilds, in terms of overall manpower, Broken Dawn was the weakest.

They didn’t even have a Hero Rank member, unlike Martial Palace who had Liang or Olympus who had Jack!

So how did a bunch of unranked adventurers take down the boss?

"It must be a weaker version. I refuse to believe it!" a member of Olympus said, shaking his head in denial.

"The tower doesn’t work like that... they really defeated it faster than us," another said, still trying to accept reality.

Jack stood there, looking at the vampire duke that was now on its last legs thanks to both him and Aria.

But what was the point? Even if they killed it, Broken Dawn had already advanced.

Just to confirm something, Jack quickly ended the vampire duke with a strike of his spear—yet the door didn’t open.

"Just as I thought... Floor 100 only accepts one team." He sighed. A part of him had hoped they could rush in and maybe fight for the final treasure.

On Martial Palace’s side, having similar thoughts to Olympus, Liang finished off the duke quickly as well—but the door remained closed.

"You really did it... first was the Inter-Guild Event, and now this one too... I refuse to think we’re some kind of side character in movie while you’re the main character," Liang said to no one in particular.

There was no hate or anger in his voice—just intense curiosity to know more about Gabriel.

"There’s nothing left for us. Let’s return to Floor Zero."

"Yes, Vice Leader!" they echoed.

While the two guilds exited the tower, Broken Dawn advanced forward.
