CHAPTER 90: MENTAL NOTES

[Time Reset]

[Maintain cost: 3 Elemental Master Level Eight Beast Crystals.

Time remaining: 29 Days 23 Hours 59 Minutes 46 Seconds]

Harry checked the information. Now at least he was free for 30 days... He could finally focus on more important things.

Wolfie also could now eat the stored high level beasts meat, The maintenance cost would increase on its level up but now at worst he would leave the wolf in wilderness to hunt on its own.

Harry was assured it would at least defeat the beasts on its similar level with its healing.

With that thought, he stepped out of the room to wander around the settlement. His main goal was to find his friends.

He was sure it wouldn’t take him more than a day to look around, since the number of students was low.

Harry looked up — students were harvesting fruit from the tall tree.

He forced himself to avert his gaze from the fruits that looked infinitely alluring.

His eyes scanned for a familiar face. After following pathways naturally formed by the frequent footsteps of students, he noticed someone he recognized.

He couldn’t remember the name, but it was the guy who managed the betting at the academy arena.

It was shocking for Harry. He expected that guy to have abandoned the academy, but then he realized he had never actually inspected him.

[Body Cultivation: Elemental Master Level 6

Qi Cultivation: Elemental Master Level 5]

Harry’s lips curled slightly, impressed. He was sure this guy shouldn’t be at such a high level. Not only was he at Level 5, but he had already made a buffer in its body Cultivation to break through to Level 6.

The man was talking to another short, dark-skinned guy.

Walking casually, Harry placed a hand on the man’s shoulder.

"Hey, how’s it going?" Harry greeted with a smile.

Thorne jolted at the touch, then exclaimed, "John?" as he backed away.

"I thought you abandoned the academy."

Harry was shocked — he was wearing John’s face. He hadn’t expected anyone to recognize it.

He smiled nervously. "I broke through at the last moment and made significant progress in my cultivation."

"Well... good for you," Thorne said, then continued his discussion.

’Not surprising,’ Harry thought, as he got ignored. It made sense, since John had just been a weak guy at the academy.

Harry didn’t bother them anymore. He saw a few other students from Earth, but not many — and he didn’t know any of them.

The students seemed obsessed with the fruits on the large tree. Despite so many eating them, the fruits looked endless.

He craved them too, but for the day, he restrained himself. Though he didn’t know how long he could keep it up.

"Is there any reason not to eat?" Harry questioned his choice. In the end, all the reasons he had for avoiding the fruit were just speculation.

Since students were eating them openly and seemed fine, that was proof enough of their safety. But even then, he chose to divert his mind from the temptation.

The day passed searching for familiar faces, but he didn’t bump into any of his friends.

The next day came, and he set out for another round.

He had barely walked a few steps when someone rushed toward him.

"Stop right there! Don’t you dare run!" came a beautiful voice.

Harry gritted his teeth. It was the girl he had sold the space ring to yesterday.

"What a bad start," Harry muttered, cursing his luck.

"How dare you scam me?!" Olivia said, pointing a finger at Harry.

He wasn’t interested in her blabbering.

"And how did I scam you? You paid me, I gave you the item you wanted."

Olivia was stunned. Her face went blank. She searched for a comeback, but everything she thought of wasn’t a strong argument.

"You charged too much..." she finally muttered.

"Because you paid too much," Harry replied and turned to leave the argument behind.

"Where do you think you’re going?" she asked, blocking his path.

"On my way," Harry said, sidestepping — only to get blocked again.

"Give me my crystals back!" she demanded.

"I don’t have them."

"What do you mean you don’t have them? I got those fighting fearsome beasts, putting my life on the line!" the girl said, her anger flaring.

"What are you smoking, girl? I gave you the item and took the payment. Even if you wanted your crystals back, you can’t have them — because I already used them," Harry replied.

His mind shifted to her words. She had killed beasts to get those crystals.

"Oh shit..." Harry muttered. He had come here to find his friends, and if he didn’t, he had planned to hunt beasts and level up.

How could he forget about that?

The thought of leaving the shelter hadn’t even crossed his mind since arriving.

"Used? There’s nothing in this place that could cost three Level Eight crystals!" the girl was still adamant.

Harry’s brows furrowed. He could feel that if he focused on anything else, he’d forget the thought that just returned to his mind.

It was already taking all his willpower just to hold onto the idea of leaving the shelter.

Harry ignored the girl and ran at full speed, his only intention being to leave the settlement. Only three words echoed in his mind:

"Leave the settlement."

"Leave the settlement."

From deep inside, Harry had the intuition that something was wrong.

He had barely covered 200 meters when Olivia appeared before him. She moved at nearly twice the speed Harry was running.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

Harry checked his ring and threw two more space rings at her face without breaking stride.

He didn’t care about anything. His heart was racing — the moment he had gotten distracted, it had almost cost him to forget everything.

But he kept that mental thread close. One thing, one word remained ’run’.

The girl was shocked. She had never been treated like this. Her high cultivation level was enough to keep most students in line — not only respectful but often eager to win her favor.

But this guy... He treated her like a lowly beggar and tossed items at her face.

Her jaw clenched. She flickered ahead, stopping Harry in his tracks again.

"Keep them to yourself, you lowly scumbag!" she shouted, throwing the two rings back at him.

With that came a punch — one that traveled at an unfathomable speed.

Harry was at Level 6, while Olivia had the power of a Level 8 cultivator.

He may have had multiple advantages over other cultivators, but still — a surprise punch from a Level 8 wasn’t something to take lightly.

His eyebrows furrowed in anticipation, and his hands raised instinctively.
