Godly Revival System: I Buy My Killer's Stats
Chapter 463: Opening the Void
CHAPTER 463: OPENING THE VOID
"Can you open a portal into the Void for me to explore?"
Ethan asked with a hint of both curiosity and excitement.
Since the Mystic Soil Spirit said that, except for the Greenheart Realm, there were no other Void Secret Realms that it knew, Ethan was curious about exploring the Void.
For others, it might be a dangerous path that could not be traversed without enough strength, but for Ethan, no path was dangerous with his [Godly Revival Ability] and the [Godly Revival Life Cards].
However, Ethan didn’t have enough strength to open the portal to the Void because it was an ability that only Soul Transformation Realm Cultivators possessed.
Nevertheless, while listening to Miso’s entire explanation, Ethan could tell that she had the ability to open the Void or at least had a way to open a path to the Void.
’If not, why would she mention so many times that her previous master had intentionally avoided entering the Void and followed such a difficult and tiring process?’
This was Ethan’s thought process behind his question.
"T-this..."
As for Miso, she was expecting Ethan to ask some questions, as she said many things that might be confusing to someone like Ethan; however, she didn’t expect him to ask such a question.
".....I can indeed open a portal."
Nevertheless, Miso didn’t think much about it after seeing the genuine curiosity in Ethan’s eyes.
So, she proudly nodded her head as she felt no harm in revealing her abilities to her master.
"As expected of a Quasi-Divine Grade Nature Spirit. Miso, you are freaking awesome."
Ethan’s eyes lit up when he heard her response, praising her with a wide grin while barely resisting the urge to shake her again.
"I know, but still... thanks for your words, Master," Miso muttered, a proud yet bashful smile appearing on her face.
Who doesn’t feel good about genuine praise? Miso was no exception either.
But in the very next breath, Ethan said something that made her freeze—
"Open a portal to the Void for me to enter it."
Her eyes widened, and her proud smile vanished in an instant.
"Master!" she gasped. "D-Do you even understand what you’re asking!?"
She floated closer, her hands raised in panic.
"Forget about exploring, just opening a portal to the Void carelessly might attract the attention of Void Beasts lurking in the shadows! They feed on fluctuations like that!"
Her voice trembled with a sense of urgency, "Without enough strength, opening the portal itself is suicide! If even one Void Beast manages to slip in... with our pitiful strength, the Mystic Soil Domain would be destroyed instantly!"
Miso wasn’t exaggerating; instead, she was just stating facts.
Even though she was a Quasi-Divine Grade Nature Spirit, in front of ancient predators of the Void, she might as well be a lantern bug before a thunderstorm.
As for her master, he might have incredible potential, but currently, he was a cultivator who was yet to reach the Nascent Soul Realm.
Against those Ancient Void Beasts lurking in the darkness, even Soul Transformation Realm Cultivators have to be extremely careful, not to mention that Golden Core Realm Cultivators would die with a glance from such beasts.
"It’s alright, Miso. Just open it for a moment and close it right after I enter. I just want to experience what the real Void feels like."
But Ethan didn’t back down. He smiled calmly.
Miso frowned deeply and shook her head furiously, trying to remind Ethan about something:
"Moreover, with the Master’s current strength... the moment you step into the Void, your body will explode from the pressure alone!"
"..."
Ethan fell silent as he felt that Miso was really adamant about not opening a portal to the Void.
Although he understood the concern behind Miso’s actions, Ethan had his own plans.
So, he looked away for a second, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly and getting lost in thoughts... thinking of ways to convince Miso that nothing bad would happen to him or the Mystic Soil Domain.
After a few moments, he turned back to her and asked with a serious look on his face:
"Miso... aren’t you curious how I was able to enter the Mystic Soil Domain in the first place?"
She blinked but didn’t respond.
"If you open the portal... I’ll show you."
Ethan’s voice was quiet, but sincere.
"And as for my death... don’t worry about it."
At the same time, he didn’t forget to assure her as he said, "It wouldn’t be the first time I died. Just believe me... believe in your New Master. This time, you are not going to be alone, as I will make sure to continue living."
Those words echoed in her soul as Miso noticed a look of determination flash in Ethan’s eyes.
One of the main reasons why Miso was not opening the portal was not because the Void Beasts would invade the Mystic Soil Domain; instead, she was worried about Ethan, her new master’s death.
She had been alone for centuries, while occasionally meeting the participants entering the Mystic Soil Domain.
If Ethan died, she would be alone again for who knows how long before she finds a good master.
Nature Spirits don’t easily acknowledge some random passerby as their master, and especially the Special Nature Spirits like Miso have even higher requirements for acknowledging their masters.
So, she didn’t want to lose the new master that she had acknowledged recently.
However, her eyes trembled as she stared at him because in those eyes, there was no fear in his face or hesitation, but only calm certainty and determination.
A heavy silence hung between them for a few breaths, and then, the next moment:
"...Fine," she whispered, "I’ll believe you, Master."
The look she saw in Ethan’s eyes was not something that came from overconfidence or craziness, but it seemed like genuine excitement—
The kind someone felt when they were about to break through in their cultivation or gain enlightenment.
Therefore, she no longer hesitated as she raised her hand.
Energy gathered at her fingertips, swirling like a maelstrom, and the sky above the Mystic Soil Domain darkened, and the land trembled as space twisted and split apart.
’Taking the safer path didn’t end well for my old master. So, let’s see how things turn out for my new master.’
Thoughts like this flashed in her head as she was opening the portal to the Void.
"Anyway, I’ll use this chance to test something too," she added, her voice now firm because she realised that compared to her previous master, this new master was more daring as he was willing to take the risk.
"To see just how long I can hold open a portal to the Void with my current strength."
So, as her master became powerful, she should also help him with opening and maintaining the portal while he explored the Void.
’Swiish’
Soon, a swirling rift bloomed open—inky black with glowing cracks of distorted light pulsing along its edges.
It was a portal to the Void, which was unstable and hummed with ancient pressure, and yet, it was open.
"Miso, there is no need to wait for me. You can just close the Void if you sense any Void Beasts."
"M-Master?"
And before Miso could say anything, Ethan jumped in without hesitation.
