Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire
Chapter 579 - 337: The Most Merciful Dragon God Descends (Part 2)
CHAPTER 579: CHAPTER 337: THE MOST MERCIFUL DRAGON GOD DESCENDS (PART 2)
"Alas, I can’t contact any Dragon King right now, but I can attempt to call upon the Dragon God using my ancestor dragon status. Whether the Dragon God would be willing to extend a helping hand to a Hell Lord and assist in dividing consciousness, I can make no promises."
Even though the result was known in advance, seeing his foster mother in such a state, Noah could no longer refuse. Even if it was a futile effort, a waste of time and resources, he had to reach out to the Dragon God.
"As long as we can summon the Dragon God, it’s enough."
Selena’s requirements weren’t high; she just wanted to contact an entity on the same level as the Hell Lord, with the same status.
Although she knew that expecting such a being to assist a Hell Lord was a ridiculous and laughable matter, she had few choices left, and this matter was beyond her capability.
The reason she sought Noah was because of his ancestral dragon status. If she went to the True God Church for help, not only would no Divine assist, but even a refusal could be considered merciful.
A more severe True God Church might take action against her, as she was connected to a Hell Lord as an evil mage. As for those evil gods, seeking their help was less desirable than doing nothing at all.
"Let me think for a moment."
Noah pondered over the names of Dragon Gods, recalling their doctrines and personalities.
The number of Dragon Gods, like the number of Dragon Kings, is unfathomable. Even with his ancestral dragon heritage, Noah only knew more Dragon Gods than the average Dragon Clan, and that’s all.
Because most Dragon Gods are not active, even after becoming Divines, they often only possess some inconspicuous, unlikely to be targeted, and non-contentious Divine position domains.
Many Dragon Gods even try to erase their existence from the annals of time to escape the bondage of divine status, which is why many Dragon God’s names are rarely known among dragons.
This type of Dragon God also hates being summoned. They do not wish for their names to be known by dragons. They do not need faith, so seeking them is like asking for trouble.
"They’re a bunch of hard-to-please fellows!"
The oldest, kindest, and most powerful Dragon God is naturally the famous Master of the North Wind, Father of Good Dragons, the Platinum Dragon God Bahamut, Your Majesty.
But the problem is that this Dragon God hasn’t responded to a call for who knows how many millennia. His Divine Country still exists, but it’s empty, with no divine presence aside from seven exceedingly ancient Golden Dragons protecting it.
Thus, praying to this Platinum Dragon God is purely a waste of time. Noah certainly didn’t think he was special enough to make this Dragon God, who disappeared countless millennia ago, reappear.
However, even though the choices were few, Noah thought of a Dragon God, which made his eyes shine with dazzling light. Without waiting for his anxious foster mother to speak, the Ancestral Dragon reached out his Dragon Claw and inscribed a summoning ritual on the palace floor.
As Noah moved, ancient and majestic runes emerged, emitting a soft golden glow. These runes interwove to form a complex and ancient summoning ritual.
Noah didn’t prepare additional summoning materials or offerings, for his palace itself was sufficient to host the summoning ceremony. During the palace’s construction, he chose the best materials available to him; he never shortchanged himself.
When everything was ready, the Golden Dragon swelled his chest, raised his head, and a solemn, deep voice resonated throughout the palace. It was an ancient prayer, unknown even to Ancient Dragons:
"Merciful Tamara, benevolent lady, your radiance illuminates the darkness, your kindness warms all things.
I, Noah, the Golden Dragon bearing the ancestral glory, call upon you with the utmost sincerity.
Great Life Guardian, Light Guide, benevolent Giver. Please hear my plea and descend here."
As the Golden Dragon’s voice, which was far from devout, receded, the ritual inscribed on the palace floor changed. A gentle and warm breeze brushed through, akin to the rustling of leaves.
Silvery threads appeared in mid-air, eventually outlining a silver Giant Dragon exuding a gentle light. Her body seemed to be made of the purest, brightest light, each scale gleaming with divine brilliance. Her eyes were bright as the Silver Moon, filled with love and compassion.
"Child of Bahamut, why do you summon me?"
The Silver Dragon, emanating faint divine majesty, lowered her head, her tranquil gaze falling upon the surprised Noah.
"Lady Tamara, thank you for responding."
Seeing that his summoning had indeed succeeded, Noah, unable to contain his joy, stepped forward to express his gratitude.
Although the lady before him was the kindest and most benevolent of the Dragon Gods, Noah had no certainty of success.
After all, with Bahamut already missing, this lady was not prominent even during Bahamut’s active days; being able to respond now was an unexpected delight.
"I called upon your descent to help my foster father and foster mother."
"Your foster parents?"
Having heard the Ancestral Dragon’s call, the Life Dragon God Tamara cast her gaze on the exceedingly excited Legendary Mage beside Noah,
"Is that your foster mother? Your foster father encountered trouble? An Ancestral Dragon about to come of age needing to seek my help, that is truly..."
Understanding the general issue, Tamara couldn’t help but sigh. It was unexpected that Bahamut’s descendent would seek her assistance. While she didn’t mind helping, the current issue couldn’t be resolved by her descent alone.
"Because the problem is just so troublesome!"
"Then tell me about the issue you are facing."
Towards Bahamut’s descendant, Tamara harbored great goodwill. If within her domain, she would even consider exerting more power.
"Uh, here’s the situation: my foster father is an inheritor of the Titan Bloodline. He was originally a human noble..."
Considering his foster father’s special identity, Noah didn’t get straight to the point but spoke of his foster father Casius’s general history, hoping to gain the Dragon God’s favor.
The opposite was simply kind, not weak; directly requesting her to aid a Hell Lord was out of the question.
Even though Noah’s description seemed verbose and complex, Tamara was patient, listening attentively until she heard that the human noble who nurtured the Ancestral Golden Dragon had fallen into hell, becoming a Hell Lord.
"Did you say a human with an impure bloodline, merely awakening the Titan Bloodline, survived after falling into hell and even became a Lord favored by hell’s will?"
"Yes."
Seeing the lady before him seeking confirmation, Noah continued to persist despite anticipating the result,
"My foster father, even as a Hell Lord, didn’t invade any material world; instead, he launched wars against other Hell Lords..."
"But that’s only temporary."
Tamara stopped Noah from rambling further,
"I understand your problem, Scion of Bahamut. You want me to help this Hell Lord, correct?"
"Yes, I’d like to ask for your help with my foster father, to suppress the will cultivated by hell. If possible, please help him shed the identity of a Hell Lord."
"Help a Hell Lord to escape hell? If I possessed such abilities, then you wouldn’t be qualified to summon me, just as you cannot feel the presence of the Father of Good Dragons now."
