The footage stopped at this point because the surveince cameras outside had been tampered with at some point.

    That ck sedan was captured by a street camera a kilometer away. It was clearly headed toward the vi area, but the cameras within the area didn''t catch any sign of it.

    "I haven''t seen this car before," Kale replied with a frown. "Doesn''t look like one from this neighborhood."

    "Check the license te."

    "Got it."

    Kale quickly recorded the te number and began the investigation. In less than ten minutes, the results came back.

    "The car is registered to Jeffrey," he said.

    Debra''s mind reeled at the name. Even though she hadn''t seen the body, many others had when Jeffrey was pushed out.

    The Nichols family had already prepared for the funeral. He couldn''t be back from the dead again.

    Juan''s earlier words sounded in her mind. "Things are not over yet."

    She quickly pulled out her phone and called Juan.

    The line went through quickly, and his voice came through, "What''s up?"

    "Drake is gone. We found a suspicious car, and it belonged to Jeffrey. Have you

    seen it before?" Debra said, sending him a photo.

    There was a brief silence before Juan replied, "No, I haven''t."

    "Is he really dead?"

    "He is. I stabbed him with a knife. There''s no way he''s still alive."

    "Then someone''s ying tricks."

    Debra''s eyes dimmed. She had thought that she''d be able to enjoy some peaceful days, but it seemed therewas someone else behind the scenes.

    "Don''t panic. Don''t you have the Potter family''s intelwork? Look into it again: If I''m not mistaken, the system has information about everyone in the circle. It shouldn''t be hard to figure out who Drake''s been involved with and who might have taken him."

    "Got it. Thanks." Debra ended the call and dialed Jordan''s number.

    But before she could even press the Call button, Marion walked upstairs.

    "He left on his own."

    "What? What is going on?"

    Marion ced a card on the table, on which a joker was dancing.

    "He left this on the table in his bedroom."

    "What does this stand by?"

    "When we were on missions, we''d leave each other signals. Drake is good at gambling, and he always carries a deck of cards with him. The joker means danger is approaching. He must''ve left on his own. He ced the card on the table to warn us that someone wasing after us."
