Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right
Chapter 1541
Debra''s phone rang.
She nced at the screen and answered the call before Michael''s angry voice came through.
"You''d better have a good exnation for this."
Debra pulled the phone away from her aching ear.
"Calm down."
"Calm down? I told you to go have fun at that club, not blow a million dors. And now, you''re all over the news, crowned the ''Queen of the Overseas Nightlife Scene'' overnight. And you checked into a hotel with a male model. Have you lost your mind?"
Michael rarely lost his temper. This time, he was genuinely furious.
Debra rubbed her temples. "I was just blowing off steam. Nothing happened with that model."fn869b For original chapters go to F?nd-Novel/fn869b
"You threw money around like crazy and booked a hotel room with him. The rumors are everywhere. The whole overseas circle thinks you and Marion are getting a divorce. I bet Seamar City is buzzing with gossip, too. Going back now is like walking away with your pants down."
"It''s not that bad. I''m exhausted. We''ll talk when you''re back."
Before Michael could say another word, Debra hung up.
Jordan nced at her. "What''s your deal with Michael?"
"At first, guilt. Then, business. Now I guess we''re creative partners who just click."
"There''s one thing he said that I totally agree with."
"What''s that?"
"You''ve lost your mind. Seriously, you''re not one to make irrational choices, but what you didst night is senseless." He paused and added, "You better have a good reason for all of it. Otherwise, I might start losing respect for you."
Debra stared out the window at the falling snow. "The heavier the snowfall, the more it covers. Even the dirtiest, muddiest roads turn pure white. You see the snow but don''t know what''s hidden underneath."
Her eyes dimmed for a moment. "Oh, by the way. I ran into William overseas. He treated my injury and met with Andrew. How is he? Did William say anything to you?"
"He''s fine."
"Living abroad is probably better for him. Without the pressure of running the Potter family, he must feel a lot lighter."
"Yeah."
"Lately, I keep having these dreams. They''re strange."
"What do you mean?"
Before Debra could answer, a pair of blinding headlights shed in front of them.
Jordan instantly hit the brakes, bringing the car to a halt. He stepped out, reaching for the gun at his waist.
But before he could draw it, the driver of the opposing car stepped out.
"Juan?" Jordan narrowed his eyes.
"I''m here for Debra," Juan said directly.
"You''re divorced. What''s there left to talk about?" Jordan said pointedly.
Debra stepped out of the car. "Jordan, knock it off. Mr. Nichols isn''t one for jokes."
She shut the car door and turned to face Juan. "What''s the deal?"
