Great, It’s the Pervy Neighbor. We’re Doomed
Chapter 133: A Matter of Extreme Urgency
The three of them rushed down the stairs together without hesitation.
They didn’t dare go upstairs since Su Mi was still up there.
They reached the fourth floor.
Xiao Peng immediately wanted to run down to the third floor.
Xiao Q grabbed him and said, “Everyone, come with me to 404!”
Xiao Peng was confused, “Why? Shouldn’t we just run straight out of the apartment?”
Xiao Q spoke urgently:
“If we were healthy and hadn’t been locked up for so long, running straight down and out of the apartment wouldn’t be a problem! But with our current bodies, going down from the tenth floor to the fifth floor is already exhausting. Do you really think if we rush blindly outside now, that chainsaw murderer could not catch up to us?!”
Xiao Peng said, “But going to 404 isn’t a solution either!”
Xiao Q sighed helplessly, “It’s the only option we have!”
The three of them didn’t continue down the stairs but instead headed to 404, the wedding room of Shen Xing and Zhou Wu.
Using the key Mike had given them, they opened the door and immediately slipped inside, shutting and locking the door behind them.
At the same time, Xiao Q said, “Quick, push everything in the room that can block the door!”
Because it was a wedding room, Shen Xing had decorated it beautifully. Even Mike, the man who had moved in, was careful not to disturb the original setup when he saw it.
If it had been the old Mike, he probably wouldn’t have cared, but now, seeing the wedding room reminded him painfully of when he and his girlfriend were about to get married.
Now that Xiao Q and the others had arrived, the wedding room instantly turned into a mess.
All sorts of things, tables, and chairs were pushed inside against the door, blocking it completely.
They sealed the door airtight from the inside, locking it down tight.
But even so, Xiao Q knew it wouldn’t hold.
After all, he and Xiao Peng’s friends had once been chased by that young white man wielding a chainsaw all the way to Jiang Ran’s home.
That was a firsthand experience.
So hiding inside 404 wasn’t really safe;
it could only buy them some time!
“By the way, Xiao Q, Mike told us to call the police. Let’s call now!”
Xiao Peng dragged a nightstand from the bedroom and pushed it to the door, panting heavily.
Ke Bei, who hadn’t said much, anxiously grinned, “Xiao Peng! How are we supposed to call the police?! Do you have a phone?! Or can your brain transmit radio signals?!”
Xiao Peng suddenly realized, “Damn! I forgot! Su Mi took our phones away long ago!”
Ke Bei added, “Even if we call the police, how do you know if the people who come are the real police or impostors?”
If they’re real, maybe we can be saved;
if fake, we’re dead meat.
Xiao Peng was desperate, especially since he could hear the chainsaw buzzing louder and louder outside the door.
“What do we do? Just wait here to die?!”
Xiao Q went over to the balcony, stuck his head out the window to observe, then turned back, gritting his teeth:
“It’s a gamble! We’re on the fourth floor, not too high. We’ll escape through the window!”
Xiao Peng quickly shook his head, “What are you thinking, Xiao Q? Even if it’s just the fourth floor, one wrong move and you’ll either die or be crippled!”
At that moment, Ke Bei rushed out of the bedroom holding a bedsheet.
“Use this to make a rope and climb down!”
“There are more in the bedroom cabinets. Look for anything else that can be tied together into a rope! The more, the better!”
The three had run from the fifth floor, chased by the chainsaw murderer, all the way to 404. Then they barricaded the door so tightly nothing could get through.
They hadn’t stopped once, gasping heavily for air, exhausted, their entire bodies aching and weak.
Now they were relying solely on their survival instincts and adrenaline triggered by the fear of death.
They worked quickly.
Soon, they had made a long cloth rope out of bedsheets and blankets.
Of course, tying the knots and making the rope was done by Ke Bei, who had experience.
The other two had never done it, and under such pressure, there was no telling if their efforts would hold;
even if it looked fine, it might break immediately when used.
They tied one end of the cloth rope to a fixed point inside the living room.
Then they stretched it all the way to the balcony and dropped it out the window.
The rope’s end just touched the ground.
“There’s too little material, and time is tight. This rope probably can’t support all three at once. Only one person can go down at a time. So, who goes first?”
Ke Bei asked while reinforcing the fixed point.
Who went first had its pros and cons.
Pros: The first to go down could reach the ground first, run, and escape danger sooner.
Cons: The first person also tested the rope’s strength. If it wasn’t strong enough, they’d fall and become a test subject.
Buzz buzz buzz!
At that moment, chainsaw sounds came from outside.
The chainsaw was already sawing the door, leaving no time for further thought.
“I’ll go first!”
Xiao Peng shouted and charged ahead.
He stepped onto a chair on the balcony, half his body already outside the window.
When he looked down from outside the window, even though he didn’t have a fear of heights, he almost developed one on the spot.
It was so high—he never realized the fourth floor was this high before…
A wave of fear swept through Xiao Peng’s heart.
Even without being weak from captivity, going down four floors relying only on a cloth rope was a huge challenge for him, especially without any safety measures.
“Hurry up! It’s almost too late! If you don’t go, I will!”
Xiao Q kept watching the door;
it was being broken down more and more. It wouldn’t hold much longer!
“Ahhhh! I’m going all out!”
Xiao Peng made up his mind. Staying here meant certain death—brutally killed by the chainsaw!
Going down might not kill him.
So with more than half his body out the window, he fully committed.
Grasping the windowsill, he gradually shifted his hands and body weight onto the cloth rope.
In his mind, he recalled videos he had seen of paratroopers sliding down ropes or firefighters descending high-rise zip lines.
He tried to imitate their movements, but his body wasn’t skilled enough.
He could only cling tightly with both hands and feet, slowly sliding down.
When Xiao Peng had slid halfway down, about the second floor,
Ke Bei anxiously stared at the door and said, “We don’t have time. We can’t wait for Xiao Peng to reach the ground before the second person goes. You have to go down now!”
“Xiao Q, you go first!”
Xiao Q shook his head, “No, you go first. I’ll go last!”
Ke Bei was momentarily stunned.
Then he said, “Alright.”
