The atmosphere was tense and oppressive, with only the roar of the chainsaw audible from outside. Jiang Ran didn't even notice as the system in his mind suddenly announced:

[Ding! Detected host is about to encounter danger. Will actively awaken host's alternate personality to resolve danger. Cost: 1000 points!]

Buzz buzz buzz!

At this very moment.

The young white man brandishing the chainsaw had already entered Room 304. After entering, he immediately started breaking down the bedroom door.

Room 304's door was a security door, and a high-quality one at that, yet it couldn't withstand the chainsaw. An ordinary bedroom door stood even less chance - forget this massive chainsaw, even a regular fire axe could smash through easily.

Although Xiao Q and the other two had piled many objects behind the door, they might as well have been scrap metal before the chainsaw's onslaught. Soon, the young white man cleared everything away and appeared at the bedroom doorway.

His cold smile, bloodstained body, towering frame, and the chainsaw in his hands made a terrifying sight. Upon entering, he sneered at Xiao Q: "Hehehe, you kicked me earlier. Now I'll let you try kicking me again."

Xiao Q's group all held makeshift weapons - whatever they could find in the bedroom like lamps and chairs. Even a cornered dog will jump over a wall, let alone humans. The three had originally planned to rush the intruder together when he entered, going all out!

But when he actually broke in, none of them made the first move. Each waited for someone else to go first - textbook self-interested behavior. Now, under the chainsaw's threat, all three retreated together behind the bed, pressed against the wall.

"Let me think... who should I kill first?" the young white man chuckled coldly. Suddenly he noticed someone still lying on the bed. "Stupid Chinese, think pretending to sleep will save you? I'll chop you up first!" he laughed loudly.

"Hey! Wake up already!" Xiao Q pushed Jiang Ran, unable to tell if he was truly asleep or faking. He wouldn't budge!

"Bro! Get up! Playing dead won't help!" Xiao Q desperately wanted Jiang Ran awake - another fighter would help. He wasn't the type to think "as long as someone dies before me, I can die later." But no matter what they said, Jiang Ran wouldn't wake.

Xiao Q decided you can't wake someone pretending to sleep, so he stopped trying. Standing straight, he glared at the smirking white man still by the doorway.

"Foreign devil, you and that black guy - are you both mentally ill? The black guy I get, born with underdeveloped brains. But you're white - why join his stupidity?" Xiao Q suddenly spat through gritted teeth.

The white man kept smirking: "Hehe, Chinese, if my friend heard your racist remarks, you'd die painfully! No - you'd beg for death but not get it!!!"

Xiao Q: "Racist? I'm racist against him AND you! You two idiots can't tell which crime is worse - kidnapping one person versus murdering several of us?"

Xiao Q truly believed these foreigners had brain damage. When they were discovered committing kidnapping, so what? That's still better than later taking out a chainsaw and killing several people! Murder to cover it up? Even if you kill us all, you can't silence this! With so many deaths, other residents would definitely call the police!

Thus he genuinely couldn't comprehend these foreigners' thought process!!!

The white man sneered: "You're clever, but we're not that stupid either. You're judging us from your own perspective, projecting onto us. But you're not us - we have information you don't. Killing you all is our best option."

Xiao Q scoffed: "Fine! Then do it now!" Extremely provocative, yet the white man remained motionless in the doorway. Xiao Q's companions also noticed something odd - why wasn't he attacking? Earlier he'd chased them relentlessly!

Though studying criminal investigation, this was Xiao Q's first experience with such an intense manhunt - real crime. He'd been panicked earlier, only now fully regaining his wits. He realized why the white man hesitated:

"That chainsaw requires contact to kill, unlike a gun. If you charge in, at best you can only hit one person at a time. If the others aren't too cowardly to take advantage - if they all rush you to grab the chainsaw - you'd be screwed. That's why you're hesitating!"

The white man mocked: "Clever. So come try grabbing it then, you trash who ran so pathetically earlier! I'll start with you!" His gaze fell on Jiang Ran still lying on the bed - he'd make an example of him first.

"Get up bro! He's really going to chop you!" Xiao Q warned Jiang Ran again, but he remained as if truly unconscious. Xiao Q felt he'd done all he could.

Now the white man reached the bedside, eyes cold, lowering the chainsaw vertically - ready to give Jiang Ran an impromptu abdominal surgery. Xiao Q's group couldn't bear to watch, mentally preparing for the bloody scene and agonized screams while readying themselves to either seize the chainsaw or flee during the chaos. This was the chance Jiang Ran was giving them - they had to take it!
