Great, It’s the Pervy Neighbor. We’re Doomed
Chapter 57: Old Man from Room 301's Extreme Fear of Jiang Ran
Xiao Q smiled and said, "Out of those two police reports, one time it was fake cops."
"Fake cops?!"
Both Xiao Peng and Ke Bei were stunned.
Especially Xiao Peng, since he had personally experienced both incidents, while Ke Bei had only heard about them secondhand!
Xiao Peng thought carefully before saying, "Are you sure about this? You're certain one time was fake police? They both seemed real to me!!!"
Xiao Q replied, "No, one time was definitely fake."
"The first time, during the Wang Ju and Lin Shengli incident, those were real police. Otherwise, your good friend who killed someone wouldn't still be locked up awaiting trial."
"But the second time, with those two foreigners, those were fakes."
Xiao Peng frowned. "You're sure about the second time? The police car, uniforms, and guns looked more real than the real thing!"
Xiao Q explained, "Police cars, uniforms, even guns - these are hard for ordinary people like us to obtain, but for whoever controls this apartment building, it's no trouble at all."
"To confirm, I went to see my uncle."
Xiao Peng asked, "You mean your uncle who's a criminal investigator?"
Xiao Q nodded. "I asked him to check the police records for Alice Apartment in Nancheng City."
Xiao Peng said, "Wait, didn't you say before your uncle never helps with personal matters? Not even for family?"
Xiao Q replied, "Exactly. So I had to ask my cousin to beg him. Of course, this wasn't too big a deal, so he agreed."
"Here's what I found out:"
"My uncle could only find records for Alice Apartment's first police call - the Lin Shengli incident - including personnel deployment and results. But the second time? No record at all."
Xiao Peng exclaimed excitedly, "Nothing? Then the second time must have been fake cops! Probably sent by whoever controls the apartment? Wait, if so, why did they kill that Black guy? And where did they take the White guy?"
Xiao Q said, "Those aren't the important questions."
"I told you about the fake cops to bring up another issue."
"If we successfully catch the Dog Man and call the police, how can you be sure whether real or fake cops will come? If they're real, great. But if they're fake..."
Ke Bei seemed to understand Xiao Q's meaning and said in surprise, "Xiao Q, you're not suggesting... if we catch the Dog Man, we should just kill him ourselves? No police, just dispose of the body?"
Xiao Q nodded and snapped his fingers. "Smart. That private detective experience shows."
"But it's just a suggestion. The Dog Man has no grudge against me or you. He killed Xiao Peng's girlfriend, so the decision whether to use this method is Xiao Peng's."
Xiao Peng's jaw dropped in shock, not expecting Xiao Q to propose something so extreme.
Especially since Xiao Q was just making the suggestion - the final decision rested with him.
Xiao Peng began pacing the living room, torn by internal conflict.
The wall-mounted TV was still on, replaying the earlier footage.
The images flashed before Xiao Peng's eyes again.
In his mind, a black figure advocated capturing and killing the Dog Man, while a white one argued for turning him over to the police.
Ultimately, black defeated white.
"Kill him! That monster deserves to die! We'd be doing the world a favor!!!"
"But..."
"Xiao Q, what if we get caught? If we don't call the police, what if other residents do?"
Xiao Peng scratched his head anxiously, his heart pounding so hard he could barely breathe.
Xiao Q scoffed. "Other residents calling police? Don't kid yourself. This isn't a normal apartment. Besides us, who would bother? When those foreigners were chasing us, we had to call the police ourselves."
"Just avoid the ordinary residents. Keep it discreet!"
Though their conspiracy was known only to heaven and earth...
The live stream audience also knew.
Middle-aged Uncle: [This keeps getting better - three people hunting the Dog Man together?]
Domineering Female CEO: [Maybe it's because I'm a woman, but I really hate these perverts who prey on vulnerable women - first Lin Shengli, now this Dog Man.]
Little Aunt: [Has anyone actually seen what this Dog Man looks like? I've seen his crimes - seven or eight girls dead by his hands?]
Middle-aged Uncle: [Never seen his face - the bastard never takes off his mask.]
Just then, a new user named Ultimate Rich Kid commented:
[So exciting! This live stream beats those fake documentaries hands down!]
Little Dragon Girl @ Ultimate Rich Kid: [Haven't seen you before - new here?]
I am the Hero @ Little Dragon Girl: [My real-life friend - I recommended the stream.]
Ultimate Rich Kid: [Hero, you should've told me sooner! This is so fun, I almost want to sign up and move in for the adventure!]
Fairy Sister @ Ultimate Rich Kid: [That's suicidal! Money won't help - you'd be lucky to survive one round!]
Ultimate Rich Kid: [Hahaha, don't underestimate me. Maybe I'll sign the agreement and play sometime...]

Gurgle.
Meanwhile.
Jiang Ran had just finished his morning shift as online store customer service and taken two pills for his dissociative identity disorder.
His stomach growled fiercely with hunger as he prepared to go out for lunch.
As he left home and approached Room 301, the door suddenly opened.
A hunched old man with white bandages covering his face emerged carrying a trash bag.
Jiang Ran immediately recognized the old man from Room 301 and waved enthusiastically: "Uncle, taking out the trash? Need any help? Oh, what happened to your face?"
Hearing Jiang Ran's voice, the old man - who had just stepped out to throw away garbage - quickly looked at the approaching figure.
He saw Jiang Ran's warm, friendly smile.
But to his eyes, it was the grin of a demon.
His face twisted with rare terror as he immediately pushed open the not-quite-shut door and darted back inside.
The door slammed shut with a loud bang.
"Huh... what was that? Why did he seem so scared of me?"
Jiang Ran was thoroughly confused.
What was wrong with the old man?
Then something occurred to him, and he knocked on the door:
"Uncle, has someone been hurting you? Is it your kids? Or maybe your granddaughter?"
"Uncle, don't be afraid! If someone's abusing you, tell me! We're neighbors - we should help each other! Abusing elders is illegal and immoral these days!"
After several unsuccessful knocks, Jiang Ran shook his head and left.
He was certain something had happened - probably abuse, judging by the facial injuries.
Maybe from his kids - he remembered the old man mentioning unfilial children last time he'd helped.
Meanwhile, inside the apartment...
The eight-pack-abdomened old man leaned against the door, tears welling in his helpless eyes:
"Who's hurting me? Who's hurting me? You damn well know who's hurting me, you instigator!"
"Wahhh... help each other? Ancestors forbid! I can't accept your 'help' again - you'll be the death of me!"
"You black-hearted bastard!!!"
