CHAPTER 102: CHAPTER 102: TYPHON, SO YOUR WIFE WAS IN THE UNDERWORLD? [100 P.S CHAPTER]

"To be honest, your disguise isn’t great."

Hades turned back and spoke with a hint of regret in her voice.

"But with this form of yours, if any goddess were to see you, she’d probably want to take you home as her divine beast."

Eros, now transformed into a massive red dragon, radiated both majesty and an uncanny kind of alluring magic.

She genuinely had no idea how he’d come up with such a form, it had stirred a flicker of possessive desire in her the moment she laid eyes on him.

"Don’t worry about that. Just tell me, does this work or not?"

Eros raised his head proudly. This time, he manifested only seven heads, adapting to the transformation much faster than before.

"It should be fine. You did well with the form. But... are you sure you can handle the monsters?"

Eros didn’t answer that directly. He simply flicked his tail and swatted Cerberus aside.

Even empowered by the Underworld, Cerberus, now bulkier than ever, was still tossed around effortlessly by Eros’s tail.

Taking on a few monsters? As long as it wasn’t Typhon or Gaia herself, Eros was more than confident.

"Well, seems like I was worried for nothing," Hades murmured.

"But if you’re expecting a reward, I’m not really sure I have anything worthwhile to give."

She lowered her head, genuinely considering what she could offer.

"How about I split part of the Underworld’s divine authority and gift it to you?"

"Forget it. Accepting that means I’d be stuck in the Underworld forever. You call that a reward?"

Eros declined without hesitation.

Did she think he was an idiot? Most divine duties in the Underworld were pure traps, aside from a select few.

Hades chuckled awkwardly.

But truth be told, beyond her godly duties, she didn’t really have much else to offer.

Her divine artifacts? A few rare materials and metals? None of it seemed appropriate.

"...Alright then. If you help me resolve this, we’ll go by the Law of Serendipity."

"When my palace is finished, the first offering presented to me shall be yours."

The so-called "Law of Serendipity" was invoked when neither party knew what they wanted, so they’d agree on an unknown future item as a reward, leaving it to fate and unpredictability.

Eros agreed readily.

Before he entered the darkness, Hades waved him closer. He lowered one of his great dragon heads.

She gently kissed one of his crown-like horns, imprinting her mark.

"If you ever face an enemy you cannot defeat, call upon me using this mark."

She’d talked about giving Eros a protective mark earlier, but only now did she truly place it on him.

The mark was on one of his dragon horns, though once he returned to human form, it was unclear where it might manifest.

Eros raised his head, chest puffed out with pride, and strode toward the darkness beyond the Underworld’s border.

His wings folded behind his back, making his large form appear surprisingly compact.

As he stepped into the deep, formless dark, his first instinct was that he’d returned to Tartarus.

But with a closer feel, he realized it was different.

Tartarus was the abyss, swallowing all light and displaying endless darkness.

But this darkness felt like ink spread across a page, light buried beneath a painted surface.

Not a big deal.

Once Eros simulated the aura of Gaia’s monsters, the darkness began to take shape. Like a sixth sense, a new perception allowed him to "see" his surroundings.

He curiously scanned the dark world with his seven dragon heads, but quickly lost interest.

There was nothing to see here. Even less stimulating than the Underworld.

It resembled a massive underground cavern, damp, gloomy, filled with crawling creatures, and eerily silent.

He might as well hurry and kill some monsters, then head back for Hades’s reward.

The vast emptiness of this place made searching aimlessly pointless.

Instead, Eros spread his wings wide and let out a thundering roar from his seven heads.

Infused with magnetic field energy, the shockwave swept in all directions. Countless crawling creatures instantly exploded, and even the stone ground cracked beneath the force.

These monsters of Gaia rarely possessed much intelligence, they were just wild beasts.

Typhon was probably the highest standard Gaia could manage.

And beasts, by nature, had very strong territorial instincts.

This kind of blatant provocation? Someone would definitely show up soon.

Eros waited patiently, until the ground beneath him began to tremble.

Was someone coming?

He opened his eyes, preparing to make a bold, arrogant entrance... but something felt off.

The tremor was way too intense.

Within the darkness, countless pairs of crimson eyes lit up, like a field of glowing lanterns.

Many-eyed monsters? Could it be Typhon?

Eros didn’t think his luck was that bad. Besides, the pressure wasn’t Typhon-level.

Still, the number of eyes kept increasing, covering his entire field of vision, all staring at him with pure, savage malice.

Shapes began to emerge.

One... two... three...

Countless grotesque and violent creatures appeared before him.

But oddly, Eros let out a sigh of relief.

As long as it wasn’t Typhon, they were just cannon fodder.

Even terrifying beasts like these weren’t an issue, nothing more than glorified lizards compared to a proper Hydra.

He folded his wings, ready to display his strength and crush these lesser creatures,

, but then, the monsters all stepped back, making way.

From the darkness came the sound of scales sliding across stone.

A massive serpent slithered forward, but its upper half was that of a beautiful nymph.

Her long, narrow eyes were strange and enchanting, practically glowing with demonic charm.

The monsters clearly obeyed her as their queen, clustering protectively around her like bees to a queen.

The serpentine woman swayed gracefully toward Eros.

"What a magnificent child you are... those horns, those wings... and these seven tender, expressive heads."

She reached out, perhaps to caress one of his heads, but Eros sharply swatted her hand away with his tail.

Yet the woman didn’t get angry. Her gaze remained fervent, still locked onto him.

"My name is Echidna, daughter of Phorcys. Once the guardian of grapes... now, a fallen beast."

"Whose child are you? Phorcys’s? Mother Gaia’s? Or some other god I’ve never heard of?"

Her gaze burned hotter.

She had never seen such a majestic, devilishly handsome creature, those crown-like horns, crimson scales blazing like fire, his body perfectly muscular yet not bloated.

Compared to this red dragon, even Ladon, the hundred-headed dragon, was a flabby lizard.

He was clearly no ordinary monster. He had to be the child of a true god.

Echidna?

Eros instantly perked up. His golden eyes locked onto her.

He had no personal grudge against Echidna, but he had plenty against her husband.

Her husband was none other than Typhon, the one who had nearly killed him and badly wounded Poseidon with his monstrous power.

Ah... so fate did love a good joke.

A storm of wicked schemes began to bloom in Eros’s mind.

But first, he had to probe her.

Typhon might’ve been wounded by Zeus, but he could still be lurking around, recovering.

If Eros was going to pull something big, he needed to pick the right moment.

The red dragon lifted his head high, glanced down at Echidna with disdain, and said with arrogant contempt:

"So you’re Echidna? Small fry like you aren’t qualified to ask my name. Where is Typhon? I want to see him."

Rather than take offense, Echidna’s eyes grew even hotter.

To her, this was the proper attitude for such a magnificent creature.

Had he acted polite and humble, she would’ve found it out of character.

The more arrogant he was, the more she liked it.

"Oh child of an unknown god, there is no need to rush."

She smiled sweetly, then turned to scold the other monsters, ordering them to withdraw.

"My husband Typhon is still receiving instruction from the Primordial Mother. He doesn’t have time to be here."

"If there’s something you want with him, you may speak to me instead."

She carefully avoided mentioning that Typhon had been devastated by Zeus and was now a mangled remnant, being reformed by Gaia.

But what she said was enough.

If Typhon wasn’t here, Eros had nothing to worry about.

He looked Echidna up and down.

Her lower half was thick and serpentine, but not grotesque. Like an insect queen, her fuller body exuded an intense, maternal presence.

Her upper body was that of a stunning nymph.

In his human form, Eros might appear as a towering giant.

But in this dragon form, she looked small, almost delicate.

The conditions were perfect.

Sorry, Big Bro Typhon, but this opportunity was just too good.

With a plan forming, Eros lowered his voice and said coldly:

"I came to warn you. Stop invading the Underworld."

"Your actions are disrupting my plans. You brainless beasts."

His blunt insults made the surrounding monsters growl menacingly.

But Echidna silenced them, still wearing her smile.

"Then tell us exactly how we’ve disrupted your plans. We’re eager to understand."

"Hmph."

"Your idiotic blundering scared off my target in the Underworld. Isn’t that obvious?"
