Greek Myth: Zeus Wants Me to Be His/Her (XXXX)?????
Chapter 92: I Think Someone Else as Queen of the Underworld Might Not Be So Bad?
CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 92: I THINK SOMEONE ELSE AS QUEEN OF THE UNDERWORLD MIGHT NOT BE SO BAD?
"Hades!!!"
Demeter could no longer suppress the fury inside her. She raised her divine sickle and leapt forward, her gaze locked onto the figure shrouded in black gauze.
Styx tried to stop her but couldn’t react in time.
Facing that strike, Hades simply raised her hand.
"Sister, you don’t need to look down on me like this, do you?"
She was no longer the Hades who had dismantled all her divine duties and powers and handed them off to others.
Now, she was the sole ruler of the entire Underworld.
Except for Nyx, not even Mother Earth Gaia could make her flinch down here.
Black death energy gathered in her hand, and she caught the blade between two fingers.
Behind the bridal veil, her face twisted into a mocking smile.
"Agriculture isn’t exactly a battle-class divine authority, is it? Withering, decay, and death... they can’t harm me in the slightest."
In her other hand, a black spike took form, sharp and deadly, stabbing straight toward Demeter’s abdomen.
At the last second, Hecate reacted quickly, using her magic to switch Demeter out, narrowly avoiding the strike.
After all, their divine power wasn’t even close at the moment.
"I thought it would just be you, Sister. Maybe Athena and Artemis tagging along too. Didn’t expect there’d be so many of you."
Hades’s gaze swept over the group on the chariot, a hint of surprise in her voice.
"My beloved sister... a goddess I don’t recognize... the goddess of oaths of the Underworld river..."
"Oh, and two recent acquaintances. Lord Hypnos, and... a mere human."
Her last sentence came laced with sarcasm, making Hypnos’s face flush red.
Now face to face, she finally recognized that Hades was the same person she met on the river that day—Eidoneus.
She’d boasted quite a bit back then, but now couldn’t remember what she’d even said.
Her eyes drifted to Eros, who casually waved his hand.
"Don’t look at me. I’m just a weak, pitiful, helpless little human. I only came to admire the beauty of the goddesses."
But Eros had already sensed something was off.
This Hades was powerful. Just one exchange and Demeter had almost been flattened.
He originally assumed Hades would be weaker than Poseidon. After all, hadn’t she once been a stepping stone for her?
But now, it seemed she wasn’t just on par—maybe even stronger.
Better stick to his role as the neutral spectator for now.
Luckily, neither Demeter nor Hecate expected him to contribute, so they ignored his comment.
Hypnos wanted to say Eros was clearly stronger than her, but one sharp look from Eros shut her right up.
Hades lifted her veil, revealing a smile so dazzling it could make Eros switch sides on the spot.
"Of course I remember what you said. So, now that we’ve met again, what do you think?"
"So many compliments are stuck in my throat, I don’t even know where to begin."
Eros deflected. After all, he had four goddesses beside him—praising another right now would be suicide.
"Then let’s wait until I finish my business here. You can compliment me then."
Hades lowered her veil again, returning to her quiet black bridal form.
"Hades! What exactly are you trying to do?!"
Demeter finally spoke, now that attacking head-on wasn’t working.
Styx had really nailed it, Demeter was such a doting mother that she genuinely would’ve sliced Hades down if she got the chance.
"I’m not trying to do anything."
Hades’s voice was calm, almost gentle.
"I’m just fulfilling my duty as ruler of the Underworld. But what about you, Sister? Why attack me without reason? Are you unhappy I became queen? Or have you always disliked me?"
Eros sucked in a sharp breath. This woman could weaponize sarcasm like no other.
As expected, Demeter’s barely stabilized mood nearly snapped again.
Her precious daughter was lying unconscious right behind Hades, and she was going to act like nothing happened?
"Enough nonsense! Give me back my daughter!"
Demeter took a deep breath, holding back her anger.
Eros looked over. Persephone truly was elegant and beautiful, pure like a blooming lotus.
No wonder Hades had fallen for her hard enough to just... steal her.
Honestly, if Eros were the king of the Underworld, he might’ve done the same.
"She’s not just your daughter anymore," Hades said calmly, stroking Persephone’s cheek. "She is the chosen Queen of the Underworld."
"It’s too late. You can’t take her away, no matter what."
Every move Hades made was like dancing on Demeter’s nerves.
Especially when she refused to explain anything. Letting Demeter guess only made her even angrier.
So this was the real Hades. Demeter used to think she was the quiet one, but turns out she was just like Zeus and Poseidon.
How did this happen? Of six sisters, the older three were all romantic purists, but the younger three... all absolute troublemakers.
Was this a curse? Or did she pick this up from Zeus?
Styx’s eyes flickered as she asked:
"Your Majesty, is there truly no room to change the Queen of the Underworld?"
"I can suggest someone far more suitable. What do you say?"
Hades snorted, about to reject her, but Styx casually raised her hand—and pointed at Eros.
"Look at him. His looks speak for themselves. You’ve interacted with him a little now, you know his personality."
"But beyond that, he’s the last human of the Silver Age, the template of the new humanity, and the one who fought side-by-side with Lord Apollo to kill Python."
"He sailed the seas, snatched the Sea Queen’s divine authority from Poseidon, and even crawled out of Tartarus to reach the Underworld, defying the River Styx."
She listed off Eros’s achievements like reading a résumé, then concluded,
"Isn’t a man like him far more suitable as King of the Underworld than some fragile flower goddess?"
"???"
Eros stared at Styx in disbelief. He never expected to get stabbed in the back like this.
He wanted to ride the queen, not become one!
Styx tossed him a sly little smile.
She was dead serious.
This wasn’t a stalling tactic. She genuinely meant it.
If Eros became Hades’s consort, he wouldn’t be able to leave the Underworld anymore. Sure, it’d be inconvenient on paper, but at least he wouldn’t run away.
She needed him to stay. If he left, who else was going to patch the dam?
So, Styx came up with a nasty little plan.
Crown Eros as the Queen of the Underworld. Everyone happy, problem solved. The end.
As for Eros? Oh, he’d be fine. Styx would personally make sure of that—lots of tender comfort and love. And Hades? Well, she’d definitely handle him plenty too.
If that wasn’t enough, she’d drag in Hypnos, Thanatos, Charon, the goddesses of vice, betrayal, retribution, and even the one of outer space.
She’d sweet-talk them all if needed.
Let’s see how long Eros could resist. Once he couldn’t even walk straight, would he still complain?
Eros caught on fast. He instantly saw through Styx’s scheme.
Damn it. This woman was getting more devious with age.
You really couldn’t scam rich women. Not like rich little ones—those were easy.
He missed Amphitrite. She was sweet and obedient. Stuff like this never happened around her.
But it wasn’t like he could get mad. In a way, Styx was helping him meet women.
The only cost? Probably being pinned down by them permanently.
And after all that, Hades was now clearly interested. Her gaze on Eros visibly shifted.
And not just her. Hypnos chimed in right after.
"Yes! Big brother, I think you’d make a great Queen of the Underworld! Just stay!"
Demeter’s expression was a bit strange, but she glanced at her unconscious daughter and said,
"If you agree, I swear on the name of Kronos’s bloodline, I will repay you in full."
"As long as you can save my daughter, I’ll give you anything within my power."
Eros felt a little tempted, but just a little.
He didn’t doubt the oath. Even if he asked Demeter to bear him a child, she’d do it.
Probably while cursing his name under her breath, but still, she’d do it.
But he couldn’t trade his freedom and future away for one or two... well, you get it. He wasn’t giving that up for a small gain.
Still, he wouldn’t reject them outright. He responded tactfully.
"I’m just an ordinary human. Being Queen of the Underworld feels a little out of reach for me."
"I don’t think it’s out of reach at all."
Hades’s lips curved into a smile.
"If you give him to me, maybe I’ll even return Persephone to you."
Of course, that was a lie. Her real goal was revenge, and Eros couldn’t help her with that.
But she did want to see whether Demeter would turn on him for her daughter.
The atmosphere grew tense. Eros looked around at everyone.
"You’re not seriously considering this... are you?"
