Grind is My Ninja Way
Chapter 604 - 602: Advancement
Nightfall.
Outside Youjin Harbor.
Inside the Konoha encampment.
Seimei sat cross-legged in his tent, repeatedly practicing the Palm Immortal Technique and Reflective Mind Technique, alternating between strengthening his body and guiding the evolution of his Sharingan.
The day's battles had not affected him. After completing his mission and returning to the camp, he immediately resumed his training.
Of course, this doesn't mean he only had this bit of time for cultivation throughout the day.
If that were the case, even if he created more shadow clones, it wouldn't have been enough.
The techniques he was practicing now were those that required his main body's personal attention.
As for large-scale jutsu, he had already delegated those to shadow clones during the day while carrying out missions.
At his current pace, it would take him until at least midnight to complete his training schedule for the day.
Before that, however, one of his skills leveled up.
Inside the tent.
At a certain moment, Seimei opened his eyes.
He lowered his hands, temporarily halting the Palm Immortal Technique and Reflective Mind Technique.
After sensing his condition carefully, Seimei opened his proficiency panel.
He saw that the first skill in the list—Chakra Refinement Technique—had advanced from Level 5 to Level 6.
He had calculated earlier, during the last time his "Physique" attribute improved, that it would take about 19 days for his Chakra Refinement Technique to level up.
Now, 19 days had passed exactly.
Since Chakra Refinement Technique operates passively, it wasn't affected by intense battles or interruptions to the progression of other skills.
Thus, it advanced right on schedule.
As he predicted, reaching Level 6 brought significant improvements to the skill's various effects.
For instance, his chakra recovery rate increased from 2,000 points per hour to 3,000 points per hour.
This increase did not add any burden to his body.
At first, Seimei was surprised.
However, after carefully analyzing the skill's effects, he understood.
The increased recovery rate wasn't achieved by extracting more spiritual and physical energy from him.
Instead, it improved the efficiency of utilizing these energies, reducing waste.
This is why it didn't increase his physical burden.
Now, he could continue operating the Chakra Refinement Technique for 20 hours daily without issue.
This meant he could recover 60,000 chakra points per day compared to the previous 40,000—a net increase of 20,000 points.
Originally, Seimei intended to allocate this extra chakra to Wind Release: Rasenshuriken to accelerate its growth.
However, after some thought, he decided to divide it evenly between Guardian Seal and Object Sealing Array training.
This adjustment would allow each skill to gain approximately 100 additional proficiency points daily.
His reasons for this decision were threefold:
He was already investing a significant amount of chakra into Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, so there was no urgency to increase it further. Several of his other jutsu—Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere, Wind Release: Vacuum Blade, Wind Release: Devouring Wind, and Water Release: Exploding Water Wave—were nearing completion. Once they were perfected, he would gain an additional 180,000 chakra points daily, which could then be allocated to Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. Most importantly, the war was nearing its end. According to his plan, once the war concluded and he dealt with Danzo's affairs, he would begin capturing tailed beasts. At that time, sealing techniques would become crucial.
Although Guardian Seal and Object Sealing Array might not be directly useful for this task, the foundational logic of sealing techniques is interconnected.
By leveling up these two skills now, he could deepen his understanding of sealing techniques, making it easier to learn new ones later. This, in turn, could save him significant amounts of chakra in the future.
Considering all this, Seimei decided to allocate the additional chakra to Guardian Seal and Object Sealing Array.
Even so, it still felt insufficient.
Once Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere and the others were perfected, he planned to further increase his investment in these two sealing techniques.
As these thoughts flickered through his mind, Seimei pushed them aside and refocused on Chakra Refinement Technique.
Beyond the increased chakra recovery rate, the most exciting upgrade from reaching Level 6 was its enhanced potential extraction capability.
Previously, at Level 5, operating Chakra Refinement Technique for an hour increased his chakra limit by 32 points.
Now...
Seimei closed his eyes and silently activated the technique.
Fifteen minutes later, he opened his eyes again and checked his chakra panel.
His chakra limit had increased by 16 points.
Sixteen points in 15 minutes meant 64 points per hour—a twofold increase compared to before.
At this rate, operating Chakra Refinement Technique for 20 hours a day would increase his chakra limit by 1,280 points daily.
This speed might not be the best in the ninja world, but it was certainly among the top.
And this was only the beginning.
He anticipated that as the technique advanced further, the growth rate would continue to accelerate.
At that point, his main concern wouldn't be how to extract more potential in a short time but whether his body's potential could keep up.
That said, advancing from Level 6 to Level 7 required 10,000 proficiency points. With his current rate of 20 points per day, it would take 500 days—more than a year.
Even if his "Physique" attribute improved, allowing him to operate the technique for up to 24 hours daily and gain 24 proficiency points per day, it would still take over 400 days.
That was far from a short timeframe.
Fortunately, with the war ending soon, he would have more time for training, so there was no rush.
After verifying the effects of the Chakra Refinement Technique's advancement, Seimei stopped thinking about it and resumed his training to complete his daily schedule.
Time passed, second by second.
Night deepened.
Eventually, Seimei finished his training plan. Without bothering to remove his clothes, he crawled into his sleeping bag and rested.
