Guide Me If You Dare
Chapter 246: MEMORY SYNCHRONIZATION (8)
CHAPTER 246: MEMORY SYNCHRONIZATION (8)
HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
Stolen corpses.
Forced awakening.
Artificial Cores.
And a pink-haired monster who had an appetite for human flesh.
Bambi can’t be human.
To be honest, Yihun still felt spooked that he hadn’t gone out of his room.
Well, he really didn’t have to go out since his bedroom was like a studio apartment. It had a bathroom, a mini living room, and a mini kitchen.
The only downside was that he had to live off of the instant food in his Inventory.
If I want to eat real food, I have to come out and go to the cafeteria. It’s not like I’m special enough for them to bring food to my room.
Oh, wait.
I’m special— but Charles Kang and Yosef Lee’s goal is to break me mentally and spiritually.
That was exactly why Charles Kang forced him to watch Bambi eat those corpses.
Now that I’m thinking about it, that old bastard revealed those heavy secrets with me to weaken my mental fortitude. He knew I’d be shocked. And while I was shaken, he purposely summoned Bambi there. That scumbag just knew I’d be totally shaken after seeing a kid eat the corpses of my fellow Guides.
Yihun got the important information that he needed, but at what cost?
I really feel like I’m going crazy at this rate.
Well, he already had a few loose screws. But his determination to kill Charles Kang and Yosef Lee kept what little sanity he had left intact. However, because of the horrible things that he had found out recently, he felt like losing his mind.
This is Charles Kang’s goal for revealing all those secrets to me...
Yihun clutched his head tightly while closing his eyes.
It was because he suddenly heard a loud ringing in his head.
Is this what Espers hear when they are about to go on a Rampage?
"Noh Yihun!"
Hmm?
Yihun opened his eyes when he heard someone yell his name while banging on the door quite loudly.
And that was when he realized that the loud ringing in his head wasn’t in his head.
The alarms in his room and the hallway had actually gone off.
Oh.
Yihun noticed that the alarms were blinking black lights and not red.
It only meant one thing.
The Lab is under attack?
Hallelujah!
"Noh Yihun, open the door!"
That was an unfamiliar voice, but at least, it wasn’t one of his crazy ’siblings.’
Yihun put his shoes on before getting up, ready to run and escape while things seemed to be hectic outside.
But when he opened the door...
"Guide Ho Jungwon?"
It was the Guide that Charles Kang and Yosef Lee introduced to him with Bambi.
Yihun remembered Ho Jungwon looking lifeless the first time they met.
But he looks sane now.
"Come with me," Ho Jungwon said desperately, grabbing Yihun by the wrist. "I need your help."
Yihun tried to take his arm back, but he couldn’t.
We’re both Guides, but why is this dude so strong?
Hence, he got dragged against his will.
Where is everyone?
The two of them were running in the hallway, but they hadn’t encountered anyone yet.
Moreover, it was surprising that Charles Kang and Yosef Lee hadn’t sent someone to fetch him when the Lab was under attack.
Well, not that he was complaining.
Oh, wait.
Could it be...?
"Did Charles Kang or Yosef Lee send you to fetch me?" Yihun asked. His instincts were telling him that it wasn’t the case, but he still had to ask. "Are you on their side?"
"Do you think I’ll take the side of those people?"
"I heard you were with Song Heejin before they brought you here. I’m sorry, but I can’t trust you since you worked with that engineer witch."
"Ah, that’s valid."
"So, where are you taking me?"
"I need your help," Ho Jungwon said, his voice almost begging. "I heard you’re the only Guide here who can kill other Guides by making their hearts stop, ultimately crushing their Cores in the end."
Oh.
Yihun used all the strength in him to pull his hand away from Ho Jungwon’s grasp.
This time, he succeeded in freeing himself.
Hence, they stopped at the end of the long hallway.
Ho Jungwon turned around to face Yihun, showing a bit of frustration. "Noh Yihun-ssi, please..."
"Are you crazy?" Yihun asked in disbelief. "You want me to kill Guides?"

BURN.
Moon Noa was satisfied while watching the main building of the Lab burn brightly.
Of course, the one responsible for that was Ryu Sungbin who was currently suspended in the air while throwing huge fireballs here and there.
Matthew, who had the ability to manipulate air, was making the fire grow bigger.
It’s easy for two natural S-Class Espers to completely destroy the Lab, but we have to do it slowly to give the people inside the chance to run away.
But that didn’t mean Moon Noa was letting those people get away.
Lee Sarang and Jin Sooin, along with their subordinates, are already blocking all the possible exits.
In short, everything was under control.
For now.
"Moon Noa, what do you think you’re doing?!"
Finally, the man of the hour is here.
Moon Nam-il, the President of South Korea, had finally appeared.
Of course, the old bastard wasn’t alone.
His strongest Espers were with him.
And there was one more familiar face in the entourage.
"Munhee Noona?" Moon Noa greeted his older childhood friend, and then he laughed. "Did you sell your soul to the devil just for your dream to establish that bureau for Guides or something?"
Kim Munhee just maintained a poker face, ignoring Moon Noa completely.
Aigoo.
"Moon Noa, stop this bullshit," Moon Nam-il said sternly. "Even if you’re my grandson, I won’t hesitate to arrest you—"
"Grandfather, I’m taking away your power as the President of this country," Moon Noa said coldly, cutting off the old bastard’s blabber. "You don’t have the right to run South Korea anymore."
"What are you saying—"
"Human trafficking, forced awakening, experimenting on children against their will. You know that the Lab is committing those heinous acts. And, yet, not only did you turn a blind eye— but you also supported them financially."
"That’s some heavy accusation, my grandson. But if you have the evidence to support your claim, you wouldn’t be here."
"You’re right, Grandfather. I don’t have the evidence."
President Moon Nam-il laughed mockingly.
But that didn’t last long.
"The evidence is in Haru-nim’s hands— and he’s probably announcing your crimes to the world as we speak."
President Moon Nam-il suddenly went pale. "You bastard—"
"And, oh, our coup has started," Moon Noa said, smiling. And then he looked up. "We’re here to overthrow the government."
Kwak Hakjae, the president of the Esper Association, had appeared above them through a portal.
And the Esper Association President wasn’t alone.
Hundreds of Espers started to appear around them— and those Espers followed Kwak Hakjae.
Moon Noa was still bitter that Ki Gayoon didn’t join them, but that would do.
Let the rebellion begin.
