Guide To Reign My Tycoon Husbands
Chapter 656: Fan Meilin: Treated As A Vixen
CHAPTER 656: FAN MEILIN: TREATED AS A VIXEN
Luo Huian was really good with her acting. Throughout the journey and even when they reached home, she pretended not to know anything. But Fan Meilin knew that she was aware of the truth he was hiding. There was something subtle about her care while she was looking out for him, and it made his heart warm up. No woman had ever cared for him in the same way as Luo Huian. With his fame, Fan Meilin had met with countless women who wanted to woo him, so how could he not see what Luo Huian was doing for him?
He knew that she was waiting for him to tell the truth to her, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it. It wasn’t because he was afraid but because he felt guilty and embarrassed just thinking about how he had given his all to someone like Liao Hong when he should have kept himself clean for Luo Huian. The traces of the past made him feel dirty. And bringing them in front of Luo Huian made him feel even worse. How could he say such a thing in front of his wife?
Fan Meilin wanted to be honest, but he was scared. He could only think of other ways to make it up to his wife for the time being.
"She knows, and she didn’t say anything to you?" Xu Qiao frowned hard. Since when did Luo Huian become so understanding and open-minded? He still remembered how she had quarrelled with Fan Meilin and called him a slut for sleeping with other women. Even though it happened due to Fan Meilin being young and Liao Hong being sly, Luo Huian still blamed Fan Meilin for everything, saying that it was him being too loose.
Now, how come that woman suddenly turned so understanding?
Fan Meilin raised his head and noticed the frown on the face of his assistant. He sighed and said, "I know that it feels a bit weird, but she truly has changed. I did tell you this before, didn’t I?"
"You did but—"
The sound of someone knocking on the door echoed in the room, and Fan Meilin and Xu Qiao stopped talking. Frowning slightly, Xu Qiao turned around and walked over to the door. "What’s going on? I don’t think we had any arrangements today."
Because Fan Meilin went through a rough ordeal last night, Xu Qiao made sure that no one would bother him today and even cancelled most of his appointments. Thus, he couldn’t help but wonder who came to see them.
But as soon as he opened the door, the mystery was solved, and his expression turned rigid.
"Ah Qiao."
"Please call me Mister Xu or Master Xu," Xu Qiao looked at the woman in front of him and stated coldly. Inside the room, Fan Meilin started to frown as he got to his feet upon hearing that distant yet familiar voice. He walked over and was not surprised when he saw the assistant of Madam Liao and Xu Qiao’s ex-lover. Su Daji.
Su Daji looked at the two of them; even though there was a hint of grievance in her eyes, she still stared at Fan Meilin and Xu Qiao with a stern look in her eyes. She said to Fan Meilin, "The boss has called for you. Please follow me to the top floor–"
"For what?" Xu Qiao stepped in front of Fan Meilin and glared at Su Daji. "I am telling you that Meilin is no longer the same helpless mer from a small family that is drowning in debt, Madam Su. He is Miss Luo’s husband, and I believe you and your madam might have already heard about how much Luo Huian cares about him, right? If you dare to harm him like you did the last time, it will be the Luo family who will take revenge. Do you think you can go against them? If you can, then you might as well try it!"
The last time Fan Meilin went to look for Madam Liao, that woman humiliated him so badly that Fan Meilin wanted to die. Xu Qiao would never forget the way his friend had cried.
I just want this child and want nothing to do with the Liao family, so why do they humiliate me like this? What have I done wrong?
He spoke those heartbreaking words while hugging him and sobbing like a child. Xu Qiao would never forget the pain that Fan Meilin had to go through because Liao Hong couldn’t go against her mother.
Su Daji glanced at Xu Qiao. Her face remained stoic, but if one looked carefully, they could see the pain in her eyes. She pursed her lips and said, "I assure you that Madam is well aware of this matter, and she will not do anything to harm him."
Xu Qiao still wanted to quibble with Su Daji, but Fan Meilin stopped him. He raised his hand and pulled Xu Qiao back. He said to him, "Calm down. Since she wants to talk with me, I will certainly talk with her." He raised his head and looked at Su Daji with a hint of calmness and anger before saying, "However, just as Ah Qiao said, if your madam tries to do anything to me, then I will not take it lying down."
Now that his wife cared for him, Fan Meilin felt his courage emboldened even more.
Su Daji lowered her head and agreed, "I understand."
Fan Meilin still didn’t trust Su Daji and Madam Liao. He turned to look at Xu Qiao and said to him, "Call Huian. Tell her that I want to go to dinner with her. She did tell me that she is free tonight and to call her when I am done."
He was only saying those words for Su Daji to hear; he didn’t want to call Luo Huian, but Xu Qiao took it literally. He didn’t want Fan Meilin to be bullied by Madam Liao. So he didn’t think twice and called Luo Huian, the second Su Daji took Fan Meilin away.
Luo Huian: "..."
She looked at the phone in her hand and felt her brows twitch hard.
"I think I should take these three to the temples," muttered Luo Huian with a hint of annoyance on her face. She raised her hand and pinched the space between her brows. Like what kind of lives these three mers had that they were targeted all the time! Not a single day went by in peace.
Xiao Bai was an immortal familiar herself, but she still nodded and agreed with what Luo Huian said. "You are right; we should definitely take them to the temples. I have never seen someone have such a hard life."
While Luo Huian was wondering which temple to take her husbands to, Fan Meilin arrived at the top floor of the building. He walked past Su Daji, who calmly followed after him.
"It seems like Master Fan has no trust in us," she remarked while walking beside Fan Meilin.
"Would you if you were in my shoes?" Fan Meilin glanced at the woman. He had one of his hands in his pockets, and his long black hair was swishing behind him. "Do you think that I am a fool who would make the same mistakes again and again, Madam Su?" He had been suppressed by the Liao family because he was a fool, trusting others and trying to see the good in everyone.
However, after going through so much, it would be a surprise if Fan Meilin were still the same kind of person.
Su Daji smiled softly at the mer. She shook her head and stated, "Of course. You are certainly right. If I were in your shoes, then I certainly wouldn’t trust Madam Liao." She glanced at the mer whose face was beaming with confidence and a glow of happiness, and her eyes softened. "It seems like your wife treats you quite well."
"She treats me really well." Fan Meilin’s face couldn’t help but turn red at the thought of Luo Huian, who, despite her harsh tone, cared for him in every way possible. He could still feel her warmth, as she had held him in her arms throughout the night. She didn’t even touch him; instead, she was quite careful and comforting. Not demanding anything in return for making her upset.
Su Daji hummed. It seemed like Luo Huian was really nice to Fan Meilin; since that was the case, the plan that Madam Liao had – it was not going to work at all.
The two of them walked past the marble-floored corridors and headed straight to the office that belonged to Madam Liao. As Fan Meilin walked past the oak doors, he realised that not much had changed, other than the carpet on the floor.
"Madam Liao," He greeted with a soft yet firm tone.
"Fan Meilin", Madam Liao raised her head and looked at the mer, her eyes staring at him calculatively. "I have to say that you are still as charming as ever; if not, how could you still have my daughter hooked around your little finger?"
