Ruan Chanchan looked at the report in front of her for a good two seconds; for a while, she was certain that this system was pulling her leg, but then she took a look at the system that was smiling at her innocently and knew that Xiao Xi was not joking! This was really the antidote, and this was really the report. Who the hell made this report? She wanted to talk with this person. Who was he, and why was he ruining her little innocent Xiao Xi?

She sucked in a breath and turned to look at Chief Xie before saying to her, "I need someone to bring me some moonlit dew, the petal of the rose of regrets and the tail of the fire salamander."

When Chief Xie heard her request, she ignored the look of outrage on the faces of the elders and turned to look at the scouts before saying to them, "Go and bring these things right away. Make sure that you don’t waste any time; a life is at stake."

The scout warriors nodded and then turned to rush out of the territory.

"Silence," snapped Chief Xie. "I will listen to whatever you have to say once Ruan Chanchan is done treating Yuan Ni, and just as priestess Yuan said, she is his grandmother. She has the right to make the decisions regarding Yuan Ni’s life and death when he is incapable of making them. So you better stay put for me." Chief Xie was a smart woman, and she had seen a lot of things in her life. Shao Xia might believe that she was really sneaky with her actions, and no one noticed anything. But she did and she didn’t like them. Not even the slightest bit.

She pursed her lips and looked at Shao Xia with an assessing gaze, which made Shao Xia stiffen. Something about the look that Chief Xie gave her made her feel that she knew that she was the one behind what happened to Yuan Ni. She clenched her fingers tightly, hoping against all odds that Yuan Ni would die before Ruan Chanchan could make that antidote.

If Ruan Chanchan knew that Shao Xia was waiting for her to fail, she would have rolled her eyes and scoffed at her. With her here, it was impossible for Yuan Ni to die. As long as the mer even had one breath left, she would bring him back to life. Unless he himself had given up.

"Just in time," said Ruan Chanchan as she opened her eyes and looked at the materials that the scout team had gathered. She nodded to herself after she confirmed that all the materials were in order before turning to look at Yuan Ni and smirked. "Looks like someone is awake."
