Chapter 180: Ruan Chanchan kissed Yuan Ni
CHAPTER 180: RUAN CHANCHAN KISSED YUAN NI
Yuan Ni was indeed awake. He woke up when he heard Shao Xia stubbornly refusing to let Ruan Chanchan take a look at his condition. When he heard Ruan Chanchan say that she could save him, his heart was filled with hope. Even though he took the risk for Shao Xia, the second he finished ingesting the mushrooms, he felt like his heart was set ablaze. He was in so much pain that he couldn’t even open his mouth to scream and fainted.
And when he woke up, he heard Ruan Chanchan say that she could save him. Though he didn’t have much hope, he still wanted to live. So when Ruan Chanchan said that she could save him, Yuan Ni, whose pain had reached greater heights, wanted to scream for help, but before he could even open his eyes, he heard Shao Xia say that Ruan Chanchan couldn’t even touch him. Was it really because she was worried about him, or was it because she didn’t want Ruan Chanchan to save him? Though Yuan Ni more or less had had an idea, he didn’t want to accept it.
There was no way, right? It was impossible. Shao Xia wouldn’t want him to die. The two of them were together, and she even told him that she was willing to make him her mate; she wouldn’t want him to die. She wouldn’t, but even when he continued to reject this notion in his mind again and again, his heart had already made a decision when he was lying on the ground with his eyes closed.
With his heart aching and the fire burning in his veins, Yuan Ni couldn’t help but cry silently. Unfortunately for him, even when his heart was shedding tears of blood, he couldn’t convey how much in pain he was at that moment. Because even when he wished for the pain to ease, the tears alone couldn’t suffice for it.
Ruan Chanchan saw Yuan Ni’s tears trickling down the side of his face and collected them with the help of a clean leaf. Now that she had gone through extensive training with Xiao Xi’s help, her actions were quick and efficient. She didn’t waste another second and started grinding the cleaned ingredients of the antidote, and once she was done, she squeezed out the liquid in a stone bowl and then added the tears that she had collected from Yuan Ni.
"Go ahead and feed him," said Ruan Chanchan as she handed the stone bowl to Priestess Yuan.
However, upon taking the stone bowl, they realised that there was another obstacle waiting for them. They all looked down at Yuan Ni, whose mouth was tightly closed and turned helpless. What was this? Why was this mer acting so stubborn at this moment?
Even priestess Yuan turned exasperated when she saw Yuan Ni’s actions. Her grandson was the only foolish one who thought that no one knew that he was awake, when the truth was that everyone could see that his eyelids were moving. No one was foolish enough to buy his novice act. Only he was the foolish one to believe that he was making them all a fool by doing this.
"Yuan Ni, we all know that you are awake," said Priestess Yuan in a low voice. "Open your mouth and drink this antidote."
Yuan Ni stiffened and slowed down his breathing when he heard his grandmother’s words, but the more he acted like this, the more exasperated everyone became.
"Just drink the damn thing," snapped Ruan Chanchan when she saw that the mer was actually going for the ultimate move. She knew that he was hurt to the point that he wanted to die, but there was a difference between dying and wanting to die. She lowered her voice and threatened the mer, "You’d better drink this antidote; I have worked hard on this for you. If you don’t drink it, then I will shove it down your throat."
Yuan Ni didn’t open his mouth in the least. Even though he knew that if he didn’t drink the antidote, he was going to die, he still didn’t want to drink it. Why? Because he was heartbroken!
Ruan Chanchan waited for the mer to open his mouth, but when she saw that the mer was still acting stubborn, she rolled her eyes and snatched the bowl from Prietess Yuan before taking a sip of the antidote and squeezing the chin of the mer pretending to be unconscious.
At first, no one understood what Ruan Chanchan was trying to do. They thought that she was furious with Yuan Ni and was drinking the antidote herself, but then they saw her sweep down and kiss Yuan Ni!
The eyes of the tribemen went wide as saucers, and some of the elders covered their mouths and gasped as they looked at Ruan Chanchan, who was performing such an atrocious act with someone who was unconscious.
"You—you..."
"What are you doing?"
Three voices screamed at once. One of the voices belonged to Shao Xia, and no one was surprised by it, but the additional two voices? Well, that made everyone turn to look at the mers who had screamed. One was Xie Daiyu; well, it was still understandable. But why was Nan Zhi screaming as well? Why would Ruan Chanchan’s action of kissing someone matter to him?
Nan Wu noticed that many of the tribe’s women, mers and men were looking at her brother, and she immediately pulled him back. This idiot. Why was he reacting so strongly? He was acting as if Ruan Chanchan had arranged for an imprinting ceremony with just one mer, and he no longer had any choice.
"What else? I am feeding him an antidote!" Ruan Chanchan was annoyed with the screaming and yelling; thus, she pulled her head back and glared at Shao Xia. "He is not willing to drink the antidote. What do you expect me to do? Let him die?"
"You—"
