Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!
Chapter 162: Let’s Get a Divorce
CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 162: LET’S GET A DIVORCE
Sienna Monroe and Nora Joyce arrived at Capital University just on time.
The seminar wasn’t large but still impressive. Besides the speeches in the auditorium, a special exhibition hall was set up with collections and crafts from various art galleries.
This exhibition hall featured works from six art galleries, without restrictions on types or themes, for the students to appreciate.
Sienna Monroe’s seminar session was scheduled for the second lecture in the afternoon.
The opening ceremony in the morning went smoothly, and she met someone unexpected.
Sebastian Prescott.
The two just nodded in greeting, mindful of the people around them.
At noon, when she went to the cafeteria to eat, Sebastian somehow managed to find her amidst the crowd.
He silently approached her side.
Sienna was momentarily stunned before she smiled and asked, "Why is Lawyer Prescott attending this seminar?"
Previously, during Capital University’s anniversary, his presence was expected, given his reputation as a renowned elite lawyer and second son of The Prescott Family.
However, attending an art seminar, typically meant for artists and educators, was indeed unexpected.
Sebastian turned his head slightly to look at her subtly made-up face; she naturally had striking features, and even a light makeup couldn’t hide her beauty.
His eyes flickered slightly, as if recalling something, and he subtly raised an eyebrow before replying, "The invitation was hard to resist."
This was easy to understand; the university’s enthusiastic invitation was hard for him to decline.
Sienna nodded and playfully remarked, "Seems like the university values Lawyer Prescott, their distinguished alumnus, quite a bit."
Sebastian watched the mischievous light in her eyes and casually responded, "You’re too kind. I look forward to Director Monroe’s afternoon seminar."
"..."
She was hearing "Director Monroe" from Sebastian for the first time.
Sienna’s eyebrows twitched slightly, and a bizarre thought sprang to her mind.
Could he have come specifically for her seminar later?
Just the thought felt ridiculous.
She dismissed it as impossible.
Since there was an event today, the meal was particularly good. As soon as she sat down, she noticed Sebastian taking the seat next to hers.
She glanced at him, and seeing him look back, she smiled lightly. Listening to people at the table exchange pleasantries, she heard several WeChat notifications.
After exchanging greetings, she discreetly took out her phone to check.
It was from the private investigator.
"Miss Morgan, the matter you instructed has been settled."
Sienna’s lips curved slightly as she typed a reminder: "Be cautious of being forcibly put on the hot search. It should sustain until tonight, around four or five o’clock, to increase the buzz."
Private investigator: "Rest assured, it will be done right, and today, this news will spread across Imperial City’s elite circles, especially The Sterling Family."
Sienna’s smile deepened; this detective was indeed clever.
The Sterling Family had to be informed.
She replied with a "Thanks" and put away her phone.
Sebastian glanced at her a few times, but seeing the smile on her lips, he calmly shifted his gaze away.
Having finished the meal and left the cafeteria, there was still time before the two o’clock session. Sienna didn’t join the leaders; instead, she called Nora over to give her a few instructions.
Sebastian had also finished greeting others and walked straight over to her.
He asked in a low voice, "Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash are trending. Did you arrange that?"
Facing him, Sienna had nothing to hide; if not for the crowded table, she would have told him earlier.
Sienna nodded, "Vivian returned a few days ago, and I’ve been waiting for this. Now’s the perfect time; I don’t want to delay any longer."
The trend hadn’t gained momentum yet. When he received a call from Hannah Nash, he checked it.
In an instant, he understood Sienna’s intentions.
She wanted control over the divorce proceedings.
Unknowingly, his lips curved into a faint smile, "I’ve prepared everything, ready anytime."
The preparation naturally referred to the divorce lawsuit.
Facing his deep, almond eyes, Sienna smiled slowly, "Thank you."
The afternoon sessions went smoothly for her. She was well-prepared, looking beautiful and speaking gently, with a steady pace.
During the Q&A, students enthusiastically asked questions, and she patiently answered them one by one.
After four o’clock, when the session ended, she received a call from Auntie Michelle Lowe, inviting her to dinner at The Hughes Family’s, but she politely declined.
After all, there was a scene waiting for her back home.
After hanging up, Sienna said goodbye to the university leaders and, once in the car, Nora showed her the trending topic.
The buzz had increased, and comments exceeded two thousand.
Sienna remained calm, returned the phone to Nora, "Let’s go back to Southcroft."
Seeing this, Nora didn’t say anything further.
*
When she returned to Moonlit Villa Estates, it was already half-past six.
By now, things online were escalating.
Sienna instructed Auntie Miller to cook something simple, then headed upstairs to remove her makeup, bathe, and change clothes. Outside, the familiar sound of an engine was heard.
Caleb Sinclair had come back.
She suppressed the calm emotions in her eyes, holding her phone as she sat there quietly, without making any move.
But from behind, she looked utterly lonely and bleak.
Even though the lights were on, they seemed unable to illuminate her corner.
Caleb hurriedly came in and saw this sight.
His heart skipped a beat, a feeling he couldn’t quite explain slipping away bit by bit.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t hold onto it.
He’d seen the report at around three in the afternoon and furiously ordered Special Assistant Langley to take it down, but within minutes, it was back up, with its popularity still rising.
His feelings were mixed; he suspected it might be Vivian who orchestrated it.
But then again, it seemed unlikely.
Later, he considered that it might involve Joy Prescott and Mrs. Rhonda Garrison.
The former due to Prescott family secrets, and the latter since Isaac Sinclair seemed to be contemplating retirement from the company.
As a son of The Sterling Family, he was definitely a threat to Mrs. Rhonda.
Seeing Sienna’s silhouette now, those suspicions seemed irrelevant.
He took a deep breath and walked over, softly calling, "Sienna..."
At his voice, Sienna slowly lifted her head to look at him; her face was pale, and her beautiful eyes were empty and vacant.
Like the time she was hospitalized after her miscarriage.
Seeing this, Caleb’s throat tightened; he knew she’d seen the trending topic.
"Sienna, let me explain, it’s not what you think."
He knelt down, grasped her hand, and hastily explained, "Vivian and I have nothing. I met her only because I couldn’t stand what she did to you before..."
Sienna withdrew her hand, her voice faint, with little emotion, as if she couldn’t muster tears.
"Caleb Sinclair, I’m really tired; let’s divorce."
