Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!
Chapter 165: Moving Out, Leaving
CHAPTER 165: CHAPTER 165: MOVING OUT, LEAVING
Rather than an outburst, it feels more like a breakdown.
A kind of breakdown where the heart feels ashen.
The look in her eyes as she glanced back was so determined and resolute, with a trace of... sorrow.
Even though there was no overwhelming anger or hatred, Caleb Sinclair had a vaguely unsettling feeling, as if if he didn’t let go, the next moment she would be willing to go down with him.
Especially the phrase "let me go" felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, crushing his spine.
He opened his mouth, feeling as if a million cracks had formed in his heart, and the cold winter wind kept blowing into them, scattering their past with a deep echo.
In the end, it was thoroughly extinguished in the chaos of the world, never to be caught again.
He understood now.
Continuing to obstruct, continuing to retain her, would only push her further away, ultimately leading them to a point of mutual contempt, with no turning back.
After hesitating and struggling for a long time, he had no choice but to let go in pain.
The moving company came quickly, with four men and many boxes.
They didn’t touch anything else; as soon as Sienna Monroe filled a box, they took it downstairs.
Soon, the cloakroom was packed up, all her belongings were moved out, and the closets were empty.
In no time, the once warm and tidy bedroom was empty too, appearing very desolate.
In the end, the most glaring thing was the large wedding photograph standing on the cabinet.
When they got married, she and Caleb Sinclair took a total of six sets of wedding photos, traveling to numerous places, each with a different style.
The photo in front of her was in a pink wedding dress by the seaside, Sienna holding a bouquet of pink roses, one hand led forward by Caleb, their eyes meeting with smiles.
Inside was nothing but sweetness and happiness, as if no scenery around could compare to the person in each other’s eyes.
Sienna’s gaze lingered on it for about two seconds, and complexity arose in her heart again but was quickly suppressed.
She walked over, took the wedding photograph down, intending to take it away and throw it.
"This can’t be!"
Caleb, who had been silently watching, felt a sharp pang in his heart, rushing over to snatch the wedding photograph.
He pleaded bitterly, "Sienna, this belongs to us, you can’t take even this away..."
"Since it belongs to us, I also have the right to dispose of it."
Sienna held the frame tightly, slowly lifted her head to look at him, her eyes clear yet tinged with sorrow.
Her voice was calm, light and airy, carrying a tone of irony, "Do you find this set of wedding photos ironic?"
The people in the photograph represented the past, but she wanted to personally discard that past.
By now, those bits and pieces felt like shackles strewn across her.
Only by discarding these items would those shackles fall away one by one.
Caleb’s throat tightened.
Ironic?
Of course, it was ironic.
Suddenly, he recalled the day they took the wedding photos.
They were so happy, smiling even more joyfully than in the photos, and eagerly looking forward to entering marriage, creating a home for just the two of them.
But who could have expected that, in just three short years, they would reach this point?
And this was entirely his fault.
But what use is regret and reluctance?
In the end, he couldn’t say a single word, merely falling into endless inner struggle, ultimately releasing his hold slowly.
Sienna didn’t say more, knowing anything extra would be a burden, seeing the moving company people take away the last two boxes, she carried the wedding photograph downstairs.
Auntie Miller saw the moving company people going in and out downstairs, feeling anxious, even dismissing other servants specifically.
The meal had actually been ready for a while, but she didn’t dare to call them down to eat.
Seeing Sienna coming down, she rushed forward, "Young lady, the food is ready, enjoy it while it’s hot."
Sienna looked at her, pursing her lips.
Auntie Miller had cared for her for three years, although she was June Ewing’s person, she was considered devoted and never made a mistake.
She nodded slightly towards her, "Thank you for your care all these years, you’ve worked hard."
Hearing this, Auntie Miller anxiously said, "Young lady, what’s going on? Couples fighting doesn’t need to be such a big scene,
The young master really values you normally. Whatever he did wrong, please forgive him, discuss after eating, would you?"
Sienna knew Auntie Miller’s heart was still inclined towards Caleb and didn’t bother explaining too much.
She said lightly, "No need, take care in the future."
She could feel a gaze burning into her from the staircase.
But she didn’t look back, heading straight to the garage, letting Auntie Miller call after her in anxiousness, tossing her bag and wedding photo to the back seat of the Porsche carelessly.
Then she left without a hint of nostalgia, left this villa that had once held so much joy and happiness, and also pain and sorrow.
