CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: PREGNANCY (REVISED)

Sienna Monroe returned home after eleven, took a hot bath, and emerged to find Caleb Sinclair still not back.

It wasn’t until the next morning at the dining table that she saw him looking busy.

Caleb saw her, put down the hot milk in his hand, and his brows were filled with gentleness, "Awake? Did you sleep well last night?"

Sienna was momentarily dazed, unable to distinguish where he had spent the night last night.

Did he come home, or stay with Vivian Nash?

She suppressed the emotions in her eyes, walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down, "It was fine. When did you come back last night?"

"A bit after three."

"So late?"

Sienna raised her head in surprise, seemingly wanting to catch any signs of deceit on his face, but didn’t know if it was true or if he had hidden it too well.

She still couldn’t discern any clue, saying, "How much sleep did you get then? Why are you up so early?"

"I slept for about four hours, it’s fine. I can’t sleep even if I stay in bed longer. Plus, I can make you your favorite egg pancakes."

Sienna looked at the hearty breakfast on the table, "Did you prepare all this?"

Especially that plate of egg pancakes...

She remembered when Caleb used to learn to make these pancakes, he failed many times, never getting the proportions right, or they would burn.

He practiced for a long time. June Ewing even said that she and the servants in the side building ate egg pancakes for an entire week during that time.

He didn’t officially make them for her until he succeeded.

She was always touched by his attentiveness, carefulness, and thoughtfulness.

But now, his abundant love had overflowed, and those empty corners had been filled by Vivian Nash.

Or perhaps, her place was only left in those corners, while Vivian Nash occupied her former place.

Sienna took a sip of hot milk, still resistant and unable to accept this idea.

She found it amusing.

The heart that was once bright, happy, and content was now riddled with wounds by him and Vivian, bleeding profusely.

Yet up until now, seeing how Caleb would deceive her because of a call from Vivian Nash and recklessly go to accompany her.

She couldn’t remain unruffled.

Her heart still ached, felt suffocated.

Sienna picked up her chopsticks and tasted a bite, chewing slowly, and smiled while giving her review, "Haven’t had them in a while, delicious, your skills are great."

Caleb added another piece to her plate, "It’s my fault, I haven’t made them for you in so long. From now on, I’ll make them for you every day."

Sienna smiled, yet her eyes were as calm as a still lake, her voice somewhat indifferent, "No need, eating the same thing every day, you’ll get tired of it eventually, a change of taste is good."

"Then, whatever you want to eat in the future, just tell me, I’ll make it for you, and if I don’t know how, I’ll learn."

"Okay."

Sienna responded with a smile, suddenly remembered, and said, "By the way, when I came back last night, I accidentally bumped the car in front of me, the front bumper of your car cracked a bit, and three patches of paint fell off. I need to send it to the auto shop for repair today."

"A bump?"

Caleb stood up, looking tense, and walked over to her, examining her arm up and down, "Are you hurt? Why didn’t you call me?"

The anxiety and worry in his eyes and voice were definitely not fake.

Sienna always felt a sense of disorientation in his deep and sincere attitude, even feeling a bit unreal.

She smiled, "No. If something happened, I would definitely have called you."

Caleb said with guilt, "I’m sorry, honey, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have let you drive back by yourself in the rain last night."

"It’s really fine, don’t be like this."

He tightly held her hand, "Blame me, really blame me. If anything happens in the future, call me at any time, don’t have any concerns, didn’t I say it before? You are more important to me than anyone or anything else, absolutely the top priority, Sienna, I can’t be without you."

Caleb knelt down, looking up at her, his eyes filled with deep affection beneath his glasses, "So, no matter what, you have to tell me immediately, okay?"

More important than anything?

Then what does Vivian Nash mean?

Can a single call from her take him away, doesn’t that make her important to him?

In the situation where he couldn’t be without her, then why would he have an inappropriate relationship with Vivian Nash?

Sienna didn’t understand.

Perhaps what Caleb was saying now was true, but since he chose to betray her, Vivian Nash would always be an unavoidable thorn between them.

No matter how much her heart was moved, it would eventually return to calm.

The final bit of reason and clarity would still tell her what choice was right.

She wasn’t that magnanimous.

Nor could she forgive and let it go with a laugh.

At the very least, the harm they caused her was substantive.

"Okay."

She replied with a smile.

Caleb squeezed her hand, looking at her gentle smile, stood up straight, leaned in wanting to kiss her lips, but Sienna’s heart tightened, and her mind immediately flashed images and sounds of him passionately kissing Vivian Nash.

Disgusted, revolted.

"Ugh..."

She couldn’t hold back, raising her hand to cover her mouth.

Caleb was stunned and asked nervously, "Babe, what’s wrong? Feeling sick? Is your stomach uncomfortable?"

Sienna waved it off, "No, no, probably ate too much."

"Really nothing wrong?" Caleb still looked worried.

"Mm, nothing."

He pressed his lips, and suddenly a thought flashed in his mind, eyes lighting up with a hint of joy, "Babe, your period this month hasn’t come yet, has it?"

Sienna was momentarily dazed, knowing from his expression what he was thinking.

Pregnancy.

However, her period was due these days.

The women’s calendar marked today.

Her period was always very punctual, even if delayed, it would be only by a day or two at most.

But, being questioned by Caleb like this, she was inexplicably unsure and panicked.

Just now, it was indeed because Caleb tried to kiss her that she felt disgusted, which triggered the urge to vomit.

Could it be true?

Impossible!

This month, she hadn’t let Caleb lay a finger on her.

But if she really were pregnant at this time, what would she do?

Abort, or give birth?

Those thoughts were a tangled mess, and now she could only suppress her emotions and made some excuses, "It’s not time yet. What are you thinking?"

Caleb chuckled, brushing her hair to one side, and said warmly, "What else could I be thinking about? I’d like to be a father. Don’t you want to be a mother?"

Sienna opened her mouth, but the first thing that came to mind was that nightmare that made her skin crawl.

If that dream was meant to alert her.

Even if she really were pregnant, she wouldn’t want it.

She licked her lips, "I do want to, but... I’m not sure if I can be a good mother, and I’m not prepared..."

"It’s alright, babe, I’m here, aren’t I? I’ll be with you, learning and growing together. We’ll become qualified parents together."

Caleb promised solemnly, "No matter if it’s a son or daughter, I will love them well."

"After a few days, if your period still hasn’t come, we’ll go to the hospital for a checkup, okay? What if it’s good news?"

Sienna nodded, placing her hand on her abdomen, and said softly, "If it really is, then it must be fate."

Caleb stood up, "You shouldn’t wear high heels these few days, be careful. Are you going to the art gallery later? Your car’s still over there, I’ll drive you."

"Okay. What about the broken car?"

"I’ll have the family’s driver take it over there."

"Mm."

Sienna didn’t wear makeup, tidied up her things, and got into another frequently used Land Rover that Caleb drove. Just as she closed the door, the phone in her bag suddenly pinged.

She took it out and looked: [On June 19 last year, Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash booked a room at The Crestview Hotel for the first time, July 2, the second time, July 26, the third time, August 9, for the fourth time, they checked in for three days, August 25, checked in for two days, September 4, the sixth time, checked in for four days, September 21, was Vivian Nash’s birthday, they stayed five days, then Caleb took Vivian to Meridia and Hartfield for a week...
