CHAPTER 8: CHAPTER 8: HIS LOVE IS SO CHEAP

When Caleb Sinclair came out, Sienna Monroe was already lying down with her eyes closed.

He looked at her swollen eyelids, touched her cheek with concern, turned off the light, and lay under the covers. Gently holding her in his arms, he inadvertently whispered in her ear, "Wife, I love you, good night."

To Sienna, every word, every sentence, was piercing to her ears.

If he loved her, why did he cheat outside?

His love was truly cheap.

Sienna turned over naturally, facing away from him. Tears silently ran over her nose and fell on the pillow from the corner of her eyes.

Once again, she lost sleep.

She didn’t know how long she cried, didn’t know when she fell asleep. Anyway, her sleep wasn’t very restful, dreams attacked her in waves.

When she woke up, it was already one in the afternoon, her head mildly ached, and her body felt heavy with fatigue.

She threw off the covers, got up to wash, and went downstairs. Auntie Miller greeted her with a smile, "Madam, you’re awake. Sir left at half-past eight, told me not to wake you. The food was just prepared not long ago, would you like to eat now?"

Sienna nodded, "Bring it up."

Auntie Miller responded, turned, and went to the kitchen. Not long after, she brought the dishes, and served her a bowl of soup.

She laughed, "Sir said in the morning you seemed tired these days, didn’t look well, so he specially made this pigeon soup this morning."

Sienna was taken aback, asked in surprise, "He made it?"

"Yes, when I arrived, the pigeon soup had already been stewing for half an hour. As he left, he told me to keep it simmering at a low heat, and he even called at half-past ten to ask if you were awake."

It was the first time Auntie Miller saw anyone from a wealthy family so willing to cook for his wife, so thoughtful and attentive.

She had been working there for three years, and had never seen the couple fight, they were loving and sweet every day.

Sienna loved drinking soup, it was the first thing Caleb learned to make.

Over the years, their fridge never lacked ingredients she loved, and he would often make various soups she enjoyed.

Pigeon soup was actually the most time-consuming.

In the late autumn, the days got light late, so when he got up to handle the ingredients, it was still dark.

Vivian Nash wasn’t wrong when she said that Caleb’s efforts for her were obvious to all.

Sienna stirred the soup with a spoon, couldn’t help but laugh softly, a complex emotion rose in her heart, thick and dense, impossible to suppress.

Seeing her stay silent, Auntie Miller asked, "Madam, why do your eyes look even more swollen than last night?"

Sienna paused in her soup-drinking, recalling the reflection of herself in the bathroom mirror earlier, her eyes indeed very swollen.

She casually replied, "Maybe I didn’t sleep well last night."

Auntie Miller said, "Then you eat first, I’ll hard boil two eggs and help roll your eyes."

Sienna quietly finished her meal, took the eggs Auntie Miller boiled and sat in the living room rolling them over her eyes for a few minutes. Just as her eyes felt less dry, she suddenly heard a ’ding’ sound.

It was a text message on her phone.

[Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash are at the SOHO Shopping Center.]

On one hand, he makes her soup, on the other, he accompanies Vivian shopping.

Sienna let out a bitter laugh, he managed both sides so well.

She switched off her phone screen, went upstairs to change, put on exquisite makeup, chose an ivory Hermes Kelly series handbag, and drove out.

SOHO was the largest luxury mall in the Imperial City, very familiar to Sienna, she was a diamond VIP for many stores there.

Entering the mall, she went straight up to the fourth floor by elevator.

Just after exiting the elevator, she saw from a distance Vivian holding Caleb’s arm as they walked out of a store. Caleb was also carrying two Hermes logo bags.

Whatever Caleb said made Vivian bashfully lean into his embrace, even lightly patting his chest.

Sienna stopped in her tracks, blankly watching their figures.

Suddenly, she wanted to vomit, wanted to throw up the bowl of pigeon soup she had at lunch.

Caleb’s feelings for herself and Vivian, what kind of emotion was it?

Perhaps he loved them both.

But to whom did he give more love?

Sienna dared not, nor wanted to think further, collected her thoughts, took out her phone from her bag, captured a photo, and followed them.

Suddenly, Vivian let go of Caleb and headed towards the restroom.

Sienna paused, watched Vivian’s figure disappear from sight, took a deep breath, and walked forward as if nothing happened.

After a few meters, Caleb noticed her by chance, his eyes filled with surprise and panic beneath his glasses.

He immediately took long strides to meet her, stopped in front of her, and softly called, "Wife."

Sienna was very surprised, didn’t expect him to walk over suddenly.

"Husband... what are you doing here?"

Caleb instinctively hid the bags behind him, seeing her look over, he helplessly shook his head, held the bags out in front.

"I ordered a Hermes Birkin series bag for you a while ago, wanted to surprise you, didn’t expect to run into you here."

That series of bags started in the six-digit range.

Sienna looked into his sincere eyes, felt a tinge of bitterness in her heart.

Just from the surface, she couldn’t tell if he was lying.

She glanced at the other small bag, "And what’s that?"

Caleb answered without any hesitation, "Picked a bottle of perfume for you, it smells nice, you can try it later."

Sienna’s throat tightened.

These were clearly things he picked for Vivian, yet he could calmly say it was for her.

Suddenly, she was curious, when Vivian realized the bag and perfume she happily bought were snatched away, what would her feelings be?

"You might as well have told me directly, I haven’t gone shopping for a while either."

"You’ve been tired these days; I called back this morning and Auntie Miller said you weren’t awake yet, so I didn’t want to disturb you." Caleb smiled, "Shall I accompany you shopping now?"

That reason was well-founded, seamless.

He did call home in the morning.

The phrase ’hypocritically righteous’ flashed through Sienna’s mind, instantly merging perfectly with his handsome gentle face before her.

At this moment, she suddenly wondered... did she really know him?

Probably not well enough.

Otherwise, why couldn’t she tell he was so calm and collected when lying?

"Alright." Sienna’s voice was cheerful, "Besides, mom’s birthday is coming up, we can pick a gift for her."

"Sure, whatever you say." Caleb’s eyes were indulgent, he lifted his hand to lightly touch her eyelids, "Your eyes aren’t swollen anymore. How was the pigeon soup at lunch?"

"Delicious."

She curved her red lips into a beautiful arc, through her peripheral vision, she caught sight of a figure emerging from the restroom not far away, her phoenix eyes darkened, she lifted her hand to point at the Louis Vuitton boutique ahead.

"Honey, I want to go there and have a look."

"Okay."

Following the direction she pointed, Caleb also noticed Vivian standing frozen in place.

Vivian never imagined that in the time she took to go to the bathroom, not only was there a woman by Caleb’s side, but it was actually Sienna.

Her face turned pale, her whole heart was in chaos, her breath slightly hitched.

She knew it was best now to avoid being seen by Sienna, which could save a lot of trouble.

But watching Caleb naturally take Sienna’s hand, as if they were a perfect couple approaching her, she couldn’t move her feet.

"Vivian?" Sienna pretended she just noticed her, wearing a face of surprise and delight, "Are you shopping too?"
