Around seven-thirty, the two left Christian's dorm to head to the first area. "I can't believe I couldn't even last ten minutes. Is my focus that bad?

"Most people I've taught had the same reaction," Christian smiled.

"So, you've taught others?"

"Yes."

"Other girls?"

"I plead the fifth."

"What does that mean?"

"It's a saying where I'm from that means I refuse to say anything that would incriminate me."

"Aren't you incriminating yourself by saying these words?"

"I am, aren't I?" The two laughed as they continued their walk. However, after walking for a few meters, Christian noticed three people in the distance.

"Isn't that Lucretia and Xin'er?" he asked.

"It is, but who is that beautiful woman with them?" Kallista asked. The two approached.

"Christos, Kallista, this is my mother, Mo Hanfeng," Xin'er introduced. A woman wearing deep blue Qin Dynasty robes, with black hair and a jade pendant on the side, stood beside Xin'er, holding a small box, exuding a refined atmosphere. She was young and beautiful, making it hard to believe she was Xin'er's mother instead of her sister.

Christian immediately wanted to make a proper salute. Sadly, he realized he knew nothing about China's culture or customs at that period, so he opted for a polite bow, and Kallista followed.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Madam Mo."

"No, the pleasure is mine," Mo Hanfeng returned the bow. "And you call me by my Western name, Allya, if that is more comfortable."

"Madam Mo is perfectly alright with me."

Mo Hanfeng smiled at these words. "Fengxin has told me everything that happened in the test, everything you did for her, especially you, Christos. As a mother, I cannot tell you enough how indebted I feel toward you for saving my child's life. Our family does not have much, but we believe in repaying favors."

"There is no need for gratitude. Honestly speaking, we would not have survived the test had it not been for her vast knowledge," Christian said politely.

"That's kind of you to say, but I insist." Mo Hanfeng handed him the box, then looked at Kallista. "I didn't know you were together, so I plan to head to your dormitory afterward."

"No, no, I don't need any reward."

"Not a reward, just a show of appreciation," Mo Hanfeng smiled. She touched the green jade pendant on her side, and it released a new box. She slowly handed it to Kallista.

Christian held the box in his hand, but he did not know whether he should open the gift now, so he observed Mo Hanfeng and Xin'er's expressions.

"Please, open it. As I said, it's merely a show of gratitude — it's nothing too extravagant," Mo Hanfeng reassured with her soothing voice.

Christian and Kallista nodded before slowly opening it.

"Mooncakes?"

"You've had it before?" Mo Fengxin asked.

"I have, a long time ago, and they were quite the delicacy," Christian nodded. Eleanor once brought home Cantonese Mooncakes from a business trip, and Christian remembered they were pretty delicious.

"Thank you," he said as he slowly closed the box.

"Yes, thank you," Kallista followed.

"No need for that," Mo Hanfeng said politely. "Well, I won't keep you from your friends. Xin'er, you know where to find me if you need something."

"Alright."

Mo Hanfeng bowed politely to everyone before slowly walking away. She remained elegant, composed, and radiating with nobility. After this meeting, Christian was even more confident that Xin'er was from a destroyed royal clan.

"Your mother is quite beautiful and dignified. She reminded me of mine," Kallista commented.

"Most people say that about her," Xin'er said with a smile. "By the way, where are you guys heading?"

"Before we get to that, I need to say something," Lucretia declared while staring at Christian. "My father wants to see you."

Christian was instantly quiet. "I'm sorry, but I can't visit him."

"Why not?" Lucretia asked immediately.

"I don't want to get involved in the affairs of your blood crest clans."

"He only wants to thank you for saving and helping me pass the test," Lucretia argued.

"I've only been here for a few weeks, and I know things are never as simple when it comes to these noble clans. So, my answer remains the same."

"You!"

"I'm saying these for your good. If you want to preserve our friendship, you should keep your clan's affairs separate from me. In fact, you should keep them separate from all of us," Christian warned.

Lucretia immediately felt insulted until she noticed the reaction of the others. Kallista's expression indicated she was agreeing with Christian, and Xin'er lowered her head, refusing to look her in the eyes. Lucretia released her clenched fist: "I understand."

The four of them headed to the first area, and Christian talked about Menes' situation to alleviate the tension. He also offered to teach them meditation and Occlumency. Lucretia was silent, and Xin'er said she would answer after asking her mother.

The rest of Christian's day was the same as the day before. He read for hours, walked Kallista home before returning to his dorm. However, he did not feel someone following him, unlike the previous day. The next day, Kallista arrived early for meditation, and she was the only one there.

Xin'er had already told him that her mother had her own form of meditation, and Lucretia disappeared midway yesterday and never returned. Christian expected to fall into a rigid schedule, with little to no deviation, until he had memorized all the content Vincent had chosen for him.

However, something unexpected occurred on the third day after passing the test. As Christian was deep in his memorization, Kallista rushed into his table, forcing the librarian to give her a dirty look.

"What has gotten you so excited?" Christian asked.

"Is it true?"

"What?"

"That you defeated Sesha Mesmori and Aurelius Ignitus."

"Where did you hear that from?" Christian immediately asked in a hushed tone.

"The rumors are spreading like crazy."

"And where did those rumors come from?"

"Sesha admitted it herself, and soon afterward, news of your defeat of Aurelius also spread."

"Damn it," Christian cursed.

"So, it's true?"

"It is, but it's not as exciting as you think. Aurelius was too cocky and gave me time to prepare plenty of water to fight him. Sesha was too confident in her mind magic and never expected to be counterattacked as she entered my mind," Christian admitted.

"You say that as if other people would be able to win against them even if they were in your situation."

"They should," Christian replied. "And you give these people too much credit. Any wizards who have such obvious flaws are not that competent in my eyes."

"Bold words."

Christian raised his head to see someone standing before his table. The librarian warned him about making tall piles, so he kept the number of books on the table to a minimum, allowing him to see who was speaking.

"Amenirdis, right?" She was the young black girl whom he faced during the finale of the second round test.

"Did you go easy on me during our fight?" Amenirdis asked.

"Huh, no."

"I don't believe you. I want a rematch."

"I have no desire to fight you," Christian said.

"Why? Are you a coward? Are you afraid to lose?"

"If you believe I beat you while holding back, what makes you think you could defeat me when I go all out?"

"You're not the only one who held back during that fight," Amenirdis sneered.

Christian remembered the last spell she used during that fight. "You are probably telling the truth, but that doesn't change anything. I don't have any desire to fight you."

Amenirdis showed a look of disdain. "I thought you were a worthy rival. I—"

"Librarian, someone is disrupting my reading time."

Amenirdis stood in shock, not expecting this reaction. "You know the rules," the librarian said in his deep and unquestionable tone. Amenirdis snorted coldly before walking out.

Christian sighed in relief. "Huh? What's with that look?"

"You don't know who she is?"

"Not a clue."

"She's the Ptolemy Kingdom's Saintess. She's a Divine Champion."

"Divine's Champion? I remember Aunt Eleanor once said similar words about family."

"Who is Aunt Eleanor?"

"Don't mention this. What do you mean by Saintess or Divine Champion?" Christian asked.

Kallista stared at him briefly before explaining:

"Divine Champion means she was blessed by the gods, allowing her to use divine magic. As soon as she was discovered, the king immediately declared her the kingdom's Saintess, a high position as she considered the bridge between the mortal and divine world."

Christian ran his hand through his hair. "Divine magic? I recall that she suddenly developed a blue arm during our fight. Is that what you mean?"

"Blue arm? Then, it must be Combat Magic. No wonder the king was so quick to make into a Saintess," Kallista muttered.

"What are you talking about?"

"Only Gods who rule over a domain with fighting ability can give their champions access to Combat Magic. As you can guess, they are sought after by many."

"Hmm, you still haven't explained what combat magic is?"

"The record I've read said the chosen champion can summon an avatar of their Gods. The avatar can protect them from potent magical and physical attacks, while also causing a significant amount of damage themselves."

Christian immediately pictured something he had seen in Jim's memory, related to an anime called Naruto and a technique called Susanoo. 'How cool would it be to have my own Susanoo? He was instantly interested in combat magic.'
