CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 053 GOING OUT TO PLAY WITH GU SHITING

The future is so far away, Sheng Tang wanted to wait until her third year of high school to start worrying about it.

Deep down, she definitely hoped to stay in the city for university. This city had some of the best universities in the country.

Jiang Baocu laughed at her, "Quite ambitious!"

"Right back at you!" Sheng Tang retorted.

The two of them laughed uproariously.

Once she adapted to the school, every day passed by in a stable rhythm, and time flew by.

On Friday, Sheng Tang received a message from her senior, Gu Jiahui.

Gu Jiahui invited her to join the student council’s literature department: "With your talent, you could support half the literature department. Please consider it seriously, Sheng Tang."

Sheng Tang replied, "I’ll consider it, thank you, senior. But I feel I might not be very suitable."

This was her polite way of declining.

She also asked Jiang Baocu, "Do you know Gu Jiahui?"

"Yes, he’s in the student council," Jiang Baocu said. "Tall, handsome, wears glasses."

Handsome?

Sheng Tang had met him once and thought he was a somewhat frail-looking boy.

She felt she might be lacking in aesthetic sense.

"...Why are you talking about him?" Jiang Baocu was very curious.

Sheng Tang said, "He invited me to join the student council."

With her works "Farewell to Cambridge Again" and "Once You," Sheng Tang’s talent was evident, and it was reasonable for the student council to extend an olive branch.

Jiang Baocu didn’t think much about it, "Then you should join."

His mother had suggested last night that he could go for a walk during the weekend, even just to a park to enjoy the scenery.

Gu Shiting was terrified of seeing people and couldn’t handle being in public places.

However, Doctor Sun thought many of his issues could be expedited in treatment by having him go to crowded places with Sheng Tang.

When Sheng Tang was around, he felt much calmer and more in control.

After considering it, Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu agreed to this plan.

Mrs. Gu had a particularly tactful way of speaking.

During dinner yesterday, she had specifically mentioned to Gu Shiting, "The maple trees in Central Park have turned completely red. Many people are taking photos; the scenery is beautiful."

Then she added, "You could invite Sheng Tang. She doesn’t seem to have many friends and would probably be bored at home on a Saturday."

Sheng Tang indeed didn’t have many friends.

The Gu family was very well-informed about Sheng Tang’s situation.

Hearing this, Gu Shiting’s interest was piqued; his eyes lifted slightly.

Gu Shiting valued his friendship with Sheng Tang deeply.

He didn’t sleep much that night.

Going out to Central Park? Just thinking about the crowded place, shoulder to shoulder, made his head spin, and he broke out in a light sweat. But thinking about how Sheng Tang had brought him home and he hadn’t returned the favor made him feel embarrassed.
