Hate me, Miss Witch!
Chapter 220 - 140 Ennie: Just Solving Needs Alone
The air seemed to freeze in an instant.
Nearby, the blonde girl blinked, still struggling to comprehend the true meaning behind Silvia's words.
What spiritual power division? What familiar transformation ritual? What tactile sharing...?
These were all esoteric concepts, and for Enola, such complex vocabulary was admittedly challenging to understand.
Shiayar's gaze, however, grew increasingly strange.
If he couldn't recognize the reality of the situation now, given all these hints, he would seriously have to question his own intelligence.
Shiayar looked deeply at Silvia beside him, his gaze intense.
Well, I'll be.
I'd wondered why that white cat was so clingy to me. It wouldn't even bother its own master when she arrived, preferring to stay with me. So eager to please, going above and beyond just trying to curry favor with its future master.
I never expected you to be *that* kind of cat!
And to think, every time I petted her, that white cat would act coy yet delighted, eventually even actively seeking pats and cuddles.
I never realized my main wife also had such a repressed side.
Her true self was too embarrassed to be openly affectionate in front of Ennie, so she sent her familiar—her incarnation—to secretly get intimate with me every night, right under Ennie's nose!
Honestly, though... it was quite enjoyable.
「Meanwhile.」
The Knowledge Holy Chalice seemed finally satisfied with Silvia's response, and new text emerged on its shaking surface.
"Deal reached."
The instant these words appeared, the twilight's radiance churned.
The slender figure of the Gray-Silver Witch flashed out of existence, vanishing from Shiayar and Enola's room and returning next door.
From beginning to end, she kept her lovely eyes cast down, not daring to meet Shiayar's gaze.
This is so embarrassing!
Originally, I just had the whimsical idea of creating a spiritual familiar to protect Brother Shiayar, without thinking it through.
But then, I foolishly indulged in Brother Shiayar's gentle caresses, becoming obsessed and unable to pull myself away.
What a massive blunder!
The Knowledge Holy Chalice paid no mind to Silvia fleeing the scene; instead, it quickly rolled over, still shaking.
Two curved arrows, like a pair of eyes, focused steadfastly on Enola.
"Next, it's your turn to answer a question."
Enola's delicate body instantly tensed, and she clung tightly to Shiayar's clothes, hiding behind him.
Feeling the warm, soft body pressing against him from behind, Shiayar couldn't help but feel amused.
Perhaps because she had witnessed the ghosts all over Ceylon as a child, Enola was terrified of them.
However, Shiayar had to travel all over the continent for his archaeological missions.
This was a world with supernatural powers, where Humans, as Beastmasters, specialized in spiritual power. So, investigating ancient sites—or to put it bluntly, grave-robbing—inevitably involved dealings with spirits, zombies, and other undead beings.
Ennie would turn pale at the sight of zombies, ghosts, and Skeleton Soldiers. Yet, she was also worried about Shiayar delving into tombs alone, so she was agonizingly conflicted every time.
So, to cure Enola's phobia, Shiayar decided to fight poison with poison, regaling her with tales of unspeakable horrors to supplant her fear of the undead.
The effect was immediate. Ennie soon lost her fear of ghosts and could even accompany Shiayar into all sorts of haunted ruins, blasting Skeleton Soldiers' heads apart with her spear.
The side effect, however, was that Ennie's fear of the unspeakable horrors from Shiayar's stories only deepened.
Every time Shiayar told her one of his ghost stories, she would be so frightened she'd curl up in his arms. Naturally, he never tired of this.
Now, the sight of this eerie and unknown Holy Chalice reminded Enola of the fear she had felt as a child, when Shiayar's stories about "Containment Breach" and the "Foundation" dominated her nightmares, leaving her unable to sleep unless Shiayar stayed with her.
The custom of sharing a bed had continued ever since. Perfectly aligning with the expectations of a certain schemer, of course.
"This one is even more significant."
"The Tower at the End of the World, the Storm Anchor, anchoring the world, sustaining the stars—the Sacred Spear Contractor!"
"Compared to the young Throne we just discussed, this guest is of equal importance."
The Knowledge Holy Chalice swayed slightly and then posed another question. "May I ask..."
"What exactly were you doing between nine and ten in the morning on the seventh day of the Month of Fertility in Holy Calendar Year 902?"
Was there anything special about this date?
Shiayar recalled for a moment. Although nearly half a year had passed, his current rank of spiritual power allowed him to clearly remember some fragments.
At that time, they had already moved to their new home in the Black Lily District. Shiayar had gone to the magictech potion shop to buy some secret potions to help Crimson with her special training.
Nothing particularly out of the ordinary.
However, the blonde girl behind him also stiffened. With Silvia's prior example, Enola naturally didn't attempt to exchange any secret knowledge.
She was an intuitive type and seldom bothered to memorize such mystical knowledge. Even the formidable White Tower Master hadn't been able to offer enough valuable secret knowledge for a trade; it would only be humiliating for Enola to try.
Enola cleared her throat gently, her porcelain-white cheeks showing no hint of wavering. "I was training in the meditation room at the residence."
The Holy Chalice shook violently, emitting a dazzling light. "Correct location, but incorrect activity."
"Astral Realm broadcast: One warning!"
The blonde girl's long eyelashes trembled slightly, her fingers unconsciously gripping tighter. "In the meditation room, I was missing Shiayar terribly."
"Too vague. How exactly were you missing him?"
"By looking at Shiayar's belongings while thinking of him."
"Which belongings?"
Enola's voice gradually became ice-cold. "An Image Capture Crystal that recorded Shiayar sleeping and his sleep-talking, as well as the pajamas he'd just taken off that hadn't yet been washed, along with his bedding and sheets."
The Chalice gave a sharp bounce, almost like a fish leaping from water. "Just looking at them?"
Enola's gaze slowly shifted from icy to angry. Finally, she took a deep breath, and even the glow of the Sacred Spear around her seemed to dim.
"That morning, while Shiayar was at the magictech potion shop," she began, her voice strained, "I listened to Shiayar's sleep-talking—his crazed ramblings about me—secretly recorded by the Image Capture Crystal. Hugging the pajamas he had just changed out of, I was alone in the meditation room... and I quietly took care of certain... private, developmental needs using a method unique to young women."
She had spoken as obscurely and circuitously as possible. This girl might have been skilled in agility or strength, but she certainly wasn't an intellectual hero.
To Shiayar, however—who, despite lacking practical experience, possessed a wealth of theoretical knowledge—her meaning was as clear as day.
This seemingly emotionless girl actually has such a side?
Shiayar was stunned.
So it wasn't just Silvia; even Enola had this side to her?
Then why deal with it on your own? Why not just come to me to... take care of those needs?
"Shiayar, you're a boy; you wouldn't understand certain... special physiological habits we girls have..." Ennie tugged at Shiayar's sleeve, her ice-blue eyes carefully observing his expression.
Ah, so she's testing me to see if I actually understood. Shiayar instantly got it.
"Yes, what are these special physiological needs you women have?" he asked, feigning ignorance. "The saying goes that men and women shouldn't even pass things directly to each other, so I really don't quite understand."
Shiayar put on a timely look of utter bewilderment and confusion.
He knew his dear Enola was shy, and he definitely needed to help her save face here. Otherwise, if her pride flared up again, the recently reinstated bedroom privileges might be revoked!
Shiayar's answer immediately made Enola gently pat her flat chest and sigh in relief.
It seems Shiayar really didn't understand, she thought.
