CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32: SHALL I BRING YOU SOME POOP?

"Mr. Shao, I—I’ll release him right away," Wang Dagang said, trembling.

Even without Shao Zhonglou’s phone call, Wang Dagang no longer dared to push his luck.

"Hmph, release him? You casually arrested someone, and now you think you can end this matter without a single word of explanation? Wang Dagang, who do you think you are?"

"Mr. Shao, I was wrong, I was truly wrong! I’ll apologize to Mr. Lin," Wang Dagang pleaded.

"Hmph, apologize? You think that will work? I’m telling you, this is far from over."

Shao Zhonglou hung up.

Wang Dagang felt like he was going to die. Drenched in cold sweat, he collapsed to the ground. He wanted to stand up, but his entire body was limp. Forget standing; even breathing felt difficult.

But the blows didn’t stop there. Just then, Wang Dagang’s phone rang again.

The call was from another unknown number. Wang Dagang didn’t dare to answer. He really didn’t. Who knew what powerhouse would show up next to deal with him? He was afraid, truly afraid. But he feared that if he didn’t answer, the caller would only get angrier.

After a moment’s hesitation, Wang Dagang picked up the phone with trembling hands.

"Is this Wang Dagang?" a cheerful voice asked from the other end.

"I... I am. Who... who is this?" Wang Dagang asked shakily.

"Oh, Xiao Shixiong."

BOOM!

King of the Southern Town, Xiao Shixiong. An existence even more terrifying than Shao Zhonglou.

Wang Dagang’s mind turned to complete mush. He had lost all ability to think.

"You arrested Lin Xiao?" Xiao Shixiong asked cheerfully.

Wang Dagang could no longer speak. He shivered like a leaf in the wind, his face as pale as a corpse.

"Listen, I have three demands. First, release Lin Xiao immediately. Second, go and clarify your dirty dealings with the Zhang Family. Third, after you’ve handled all of that, find a quiet place and end your miserable life!"

Xiao Shixiong hung up.

Wang Dagang fainted on the spot.

In the interrogation room, Lin Xiao sat with his legs crossed, watching the two policemen who had just brought him in with a smirk.

"Kid, I’m asking you one last time. Are you signing this confession or not!" one of the policemen barked.

"Not signing," Lin Xiao replied indifferently.

The policeman who had spoken sneered, "Kid, I advise you to sign obediently. Otherwise, I’ll beat you until you do!"

"And I’d advise the two of you not to dig your own graves. Otherwise, your fate won’t be as simple as just losing your uniforms!"

"Oh yeah? Tough guy, huh? Come on, I’d like to see you try and strip this uniform off me!" the policeman taunted.

No sooner had the words left his mouth, the door to the interrogation room was pushed open.

Five or six policemen walked in with grim expressions, led by a man in a white shirt. The man was none other than Bai Xiangqian, the chief of the Jinling City police department.

"Chief Bai, what... what brings you here?" the taunting policeman said with a fawning smile.

Bai Xiangqian glared at him with a dark expression. "Take them away!" he said calmly.

"But Chief Bai, this guy hasn’t signed the confession yet," another policeman chimed in obsequiously.

"You idiots! I meant take *you* away!" Bai Xiangqian roared.

It was as if a bomb had gone off in their heads. The two policemen’s faces instantly turned deathly pale.

"Take them away!" Bai Xiangqian ordered with a wave of his hand. Several officers quickly escorted the two men out.

Bai Xiangqian then walked over to Lin Xiao and said respectfully, "Mr. Lin, my apologies for what happened today. It was my failure in leading my team properly."

Lin Xiao watched him with a small smile. "It was a bit of a dereliction of duty, but the fault doesn’t lie with you. Can I go now?"

Bai Xiangqian looked at Lin Xiao with gratitude. "Of course, you’re free to go. However, if you have any demands, please feel free to state them. I will make sure they are met."

Lin Xiao laughed. "Forget the demands. I just hope you can all handle things impartially; that’s all I ask."

"You can rest assured. I will handle this matter with the utmost seriousness."

"Then that settles it. I have no other requests."

Lin Xiao stretched languidly and walked toward the exit.

Just as he stepped out of the police station, he saw Shao Mei’er leaning lazily against a luxury car, her alluring aura palpable even from a distance.

"What brings you here?" Lin Xiao asked with a smile.

Shao Mei’er smiled seductively. "I came to pick you up, of course."

"Did your dad send you?"

"Of course not! Although my dad told me what happened, I came on my own."

"Good timing. Give me a ride home."

"Stinky daddy, my dad said he wanted to invite you for a casual lunch," Shao Mei’er said, her smile as bright as a flower.

"Some other time."

Shao Mei’er pouted her sexy little lips. "Alright then."

「At the same time.」

Su Qingning was so angry she felt she could vomit blood. She glared furiously at her uncle, Su Daonong, and her cousin, Su Qingkun.

She could have never imagined it. Just last night, her uncle had agreed to let her continue competing for the position of heir to the Su Corporation, only to show up today trying to take her bar away. This was bullying of the highest order.

"Su Qingning, I’ll be straight with you," Su Qingkun sneered. "Your beggar husband has been arrested. If you hand over the bar obediently today, that’ll be the end of it. But if you dare to refuse, the Su Family won’t mind pulling some strings to make sure that stinky beggar never sees the light of day again!"

Su Qingning’s heart skipped a beat, and panic instantly flooded her stunning face. So, that was it. The reason Su Daonong and his son had suddenly come to demand her bar was because Lin Xiao was in trouble. They were obviously trying to use him as leverage against her.

"Why... why was he arrested?" Su Qingning asked, her voice trembling.

Su Qingkun chuckled darkly. "Because he offended me. I had the young miss of the Shao Family get him arrested!"

BOOM!

Su Qingning’s mind went blank. Didn’t the young miss of the Shao Family like Lin Xiao? Wasn’t she willing to offer a high price for me to divorce him? Why would she suddenly have him arrested on behalf of Su Qingkun?

But that no longer mattered. The most important thing was to get Lin Xiao out of there.

Su Qingning knew that because of her marriage to Lin Xiao, countless people in Jinling City hated him. She was a prime target. Now that he was locked up in the police station, there was no telling how those people would try to kick him while he was down. Su Qingkun was the perfect example.

Even though this bar was her everything, and she was incredibly reluctant to part with it... at this point, reluctance was useless. Saving him was the priority.

Having reached this conclusion, Su Qingning took a deep breath and asked in a low voice, "Su Qingkun, I can give you the bar, but you have to rescue Lin Xiao first!"

Su Qingning’s mother was startled. She knew how many years of blood, sweat, and tears her daughter had poured into the bar, managing to turn a failing business into a success. To put it bluntly, the bar was her daughter’s life. And now, she was willing to give it up for Lin Xiao.

Just as Su Qingning’s mother was about to urge her to reconsider, Su Qingkun spoke viciously. "Su Qingning, cut the crap! Give me the bar first, and then I’ll save that stinking beggar. Otherwise, I’ll call Shao Mei’er right now."

As soon as the words were out of his mouth, a charming voice suddenly interjected.

"Call me for what? To deliver you some shit?"
