Bai Chengfeng’s heart sank. He spun around and saw the stunningly beautiful Su Qingning standing there gracefully.

Bai Chengfeng’s heart was bleeding. This was the woman he had dreamt of possessing, and now a filthy beggar had beaten him to it. Anger wasn’t enough to describe his feelings.

Although Su Qingning’s voice wasn’t loud, it carried an authority that no one could refute. Bai Chengfeng knew it was unrealistic to expect Su Qingning to divorce that filthy beggar. He had known her for some years and was well aware of her personality. She was definitely a person whose word was her bond.

Realizing this, Bai Chengfeng suddenly smiled. "Qingning, don’t misunderstand. I was just joking with your husband. We’ve known each other for so many years, you know I like to joke around!"

Su Qingning nodded. She walked up to the cashier and said, "Check, please!"

Zhuo Bufan smiled. "Miss Su, the bill has already been taken care of."

Su Qingning was taken aback. Her gaze instantly fell on Bai Chengfeng. She said coolly, "Bai Chengfeng, how much was it? I’ll transfer the money to you."

So, she thought Bai Chengfeng had paid the bill for her.

Lin Xiao was upset. He immediately took out his diamond card. "Qingning, look closely. This is Chunyu Pavilion’s diamond card. Dining here is free with this."

Su Qingning was so angry she felt like crying.

Does this guy have no shame? It’s just a plain, unmarked piece of junk, yet he has the audacity to claim it’s Chunyu Pavilion’s diamond card and that you can eat for free with it.

"You jerk, who do you think you’re fooling?" Su Qingning scolded furiously.

However, Zhuo Bufan suddenly spoke up. "Miss Su, that card is indeed our Chunyu Pavilion’s diamond card. Dining with it really is free. Not only that, but this card allows for unlimited spending at any establishment under the Shao Family’s banner—malls, hotels, you name it. It’s all free."

Su Qingning was stunned. She hadn’t expected the card to be so valuable, much less that someone would give such a precious item to Lin Xiao.

"Where did you get this card?"

"Who gave it to you?" Su Qingning pressed.

Su Qingning’s gaze fell on him. In that instant, she came to a conclusion: Bai Chengfeng must have given the card to Lin Xiao. After all, the Bai Family certainly had the resources for such a thing. Although Bai Chengfeng had said nothing, Su Qingning knew his cough was the only answer she needed.

With that thought, Su Qingning snatched the card from Lin Xiao’s hand. She then respectfully offered it to Bai Chengfeng. "Bai Chengfeng, this card is far too valuable. We can’t accept it!"

Lin Xiao looked at Su Qingning, completely exasperated. "Qingning, this diamond card really isn’t from this scumbag."

Su Qingning’s beautiful eyes reddened with fury. She simply couldn’t understand. Bai Chengfeng had already tacitly admitted to it, so why was Lin Xiao still trying to argue? Did he want to humiliate them even further?

"Forget it, Qingning. Don’t be angry. The card wasn’t from me. You two can go," Bai Chengfeng said suddenly.

Lin Xiao felt like he was about to cough up blood. A flash of triumph flickered in Bai Chengfeng’s eyes.

"Qingning, honestly, I really feel for you, being married to a stinking beggar who does nothing but lie through his teeth."
