He Ate a Divine Dragon
Chapter 47 went ballistic
CHAPTER 47: 47 WENT BALLISTIC
Damn it.
Bai Chengfeng was practically exploding with rage. How dare a stinking beggar tell him to kneel?
For fuck’s sake! He was the Second Young Master of the Bai Family in Jinling! How could this filthy beggar dare to say something like that?
"You stinking beggar, are you fucking looking to die? Do you think you have me by the balls just because you poisoned me? Let me tell you something, my master is an expert in poisons! He can cure me in minutes!"
Lin Xiao looked at the piece of trash as if he were an idiot. The poison he had administered was called Soul-Dissipating Powder. Its victims would quickly suffer catastrophic heart and lung failure, their bodies eventually rotting into a puddle of slime. If this scum hadn’t used a Gu-toxin on Su Qingning and then tried to poison him, Lin Xiao would never have resorted to such a vicious method.
While it wasn’t the deadliest poison in existence, it certainly couldn’t be neutralized by just anyone. Seeing the smug look on Bai Chengfeng’s face, Lin Xiao sneered. "Is this so-called master of yours Peng Bo from the Ghost Medicine Sect?"
BOOM!
Bai Chengfeng’s jaw nearly hit the floor.
His apprenticeship was a closely guarded secret. Barely anyone in his own family knew about it. How the hell did this stinking beggar find out?
"You stinking beggar... h-how do you know?"
"Want to know? Kneel and beg me," Lin Xiao said with a grin.
That was right; Lin Xiao was deliberately humiliating him. To him, scum like Bai Chengfeng was on such a low level that it was beneath him to act. Otherwise, Lin Xiao would have killed him long ago instead of wasting his breath.
Bai Chengfeng’s anger boiled over into a furious laugh. "You stinking beggar, who the fuck do you think you are, telling me to kneel and beg? Let’s cut the crap. Hand over the antidote, and we can call it even. If not, my master will kill you in minutes!"
Lin Xiao shrugged dismissively. "What, have you not noticed? Your so-called master has been unreachable since yesterday afternoon."
Yesterday afternoon at the hospital, this piece of trash’s master had realized Lin Xiao’s true identity. Unable to withstand the overwhelming terror, he had ended his own life with a blade. But Bai Chengfeng knew none of this. He shot Lin Xiao a disdainful glare. He had indeed tried to contact his master yesterday afternoon and had been unable to get through. But his master was often elusive, so being unreachable was a common occurrence.
At that thought, Bai Chengfeng snorted coldly. "So what, you stinking beggar? Why are you acting so high and mighty? Even if my master is out of touch, my older brother can still kill you! For him, getting rid of trash like you would be easier than squashing a maggot!"
Lin Xiao nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "Then what are you standing around for? Go get your brother to avenge you!"
Holy shit.
Bai Chengfeng was so enraged he could have coughed up blood.
Is this stinking beggar missing a few screws? Why is he so damn arrogant?
"Fine, you stinking beggar! You just fucking wait!"
After spitting out the threat, Bai Chengfeng quickly fled.
Lin Xiao sneered as he turned and walked back into the bar. He had to go cultivate his relationship with Su Qingning. If he didn’t build a rapport, how would she ever agree to sleep with him? And if they didn’t sleep together, how would he ever recover his cultivation base? After all, three months was a fleeting amount of time.
Su Qingning was at her desk, working. The incident just now hadn’t soured her mood, but one thing did bother her. After what had happened, Xue Dashan obviously couldn’t continue working at the bar. That left a huge gap in her security.
Su Qingning knew that her marriage to Lin Xiao would prompt those who coveted her or the bar to make their move. With Xue Dashan around, his status as a Martial Artist was enough to deter most troublemakers. But now he was gone. It gave Su Qingning a headache.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t hire another Martial Artist, but they were incredibly expensive. A Yellow Level Martial Artist like Xue Dashan cost five million a year. If she wanted to hire a Profound Level Martial Artist, it would cost at least twenty million, and even then, there was no guarantee she could find one.
Just as she was pondering her options, the office door was pushed open. Lin Xiao strode in with a smile on his face.
"Hmph! What are you doing here?" Su Qingning snapped, annoyed. She hated how he never knocked.
Lin Xiao smiled. "I came to see my lovely wife, of course!"
"If there’s nothing else, please leave. I have work to do."
"Now, now, darling. I performed so well today. Don’t you think I deserve a reward? Maybe two or three French kisses?"
Su Qingning was both embarrassed and angry. This guy hid behind me the whole time, and he still has the nerve to boast about how well he performed? He’s shameless to the extreme!
"Hmph. You hid behind me the entire time, and you have the nerve to say something like that?"
"Darling, I told you to move, but you wouldn’t listen," Lin Xiao retorted.
Su Qingning glared at him. "Shut up. I’m irritated enough as it is. Can you please stop bothering me?"
Lin Xiao laughed. "I’d never want to upset you. What happened? What’s making my peerless wife so irritated? Come on, tell your husband, and I’ll solve all your problems!"
For some reason, Lin Xiao’s word "peerless" sparked an inexplicable flicker of joy in Su Qingning’s heart. But her expression dimmed when she remembered the last part of his sentence. Why does this guy love to brag so much? Solve all my problems? I wish he actually had that ability. But he’s just a beggar who knows how to run his mouth. Where would he get that kind of power?
"Hmph. And what gives you the courage to say something like that?"
"My handsome face, of course," Lin Xiao said with a grin.
Su Qingning was speechless. "Get out. I need to work!" she said coldly.
"I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s wrong."
Su Qingning’s patience was wearing thin. "Are you dense?" she snapped. "Xue Dashan is gone! The bar has no one to protect it! What else do you think I’d be worried about?"
"You’re worried about that? I thought it was something serious."
Su Qingning gave Lin Xiao a flirtatious eye-roll. "You rogue. It’s easy for you to say. You think this isn’t a big deal?"
Lin Xiao chuckled. "Of course it isn’t. Just leave it to me. I guarantee you won’t have to worry about a thing ever again!"
"Would it kill you to not brag for once?" Su Qingning said, exasperated.
"Brag? I never brag. Fine, I’ll lay my cards on the table. Su Qingning, listen closely. Standing before you is a supreme expert, just one step away from being invincible," Lin Xiao declared, his voice ringing with conviction.
Su Qingning stared at him as if he were a complete idiot. "Are you finished? If so, you can leave now."
Lin Xiao looked at Su Qingning, a wry smile on his face. He had wanted to prove his strength to her, but seeing her utter disbelief, he instantly lost all interest.
"Alright, darling, I was just joking," he said, changing his tune. "What I meant was, if you need a Martial Artist, I can introduce you to one. I have quite a few friends in that circle, after all."
The Martial Alliance is filled with masters. I could just grab any one of them, and they could easily protect Su Qingning’s bar.
Su Qingning snorted. A moment ago, he was bragging about himself. Now that I’ve called his bluff, he’s started bragging about his friends. I’ve had enough of this.
"Fine," Su Qingning said coldly. "Call your friend over, then."
