bChapter /bb302 /b

After arriving at the hospital, Adam remained obedient and kept his emotions in check. Just seeing Yosef lying pale and lifeless in bed, Adam se instantly reddened, tears welling up. He couldn’t help it. His eyes were filled with tears.

He wanted to cry, but remembering what his mom had told him, he bit his lip hard to hold back the tears. Still, he couldn’t stop them. Tears streshed down his face as he tightly shut his mouth, trying not to make a sound.

Skr knelt down and hugged Adam tightly. She said softly, “Adam, with me here, your dad will be just fine.” She gently wiped the tears from his cheeks. “Now, wipe your tears, stay calm, and wait outside with Uncle Hudson, okay?”

Little Adam kept nodding, “Okay, Mom. I understand.”

Hudson took Adam by the hand and led him out, but the little boy kept turning back to look at his father, reluctant to leave.

Skr summoned Yosef’s attending physician and inquired about his test results. “You’re saying he’s been poisoned, but you don’t know what kind?

The doctor nodded, looking apologetic. “Yes. Based on our tests, we can confirm Mr. Campbell has been poisoned, but the specific toxin is beyond our detection capabilities.”

Skr checked Yosef’s pulse. The reading indeed showed signs of poisoning.

This toxin was called “Dream“. Victims would appear to be in constant sleep, trapped in endless dreams, pletely unresponsive, no matter how others tried to wake them. Without the antidote, the condition would progressively worsen until they died quietly in their sleep.

Skr fixed the doctor with a cold stare. “Have you found the antidote yet?” she asked, her tone icy. “If not, ihow /imuch time does he have left?”

She didn’t tell the doctors that she could detoxify. Maybe there were hidden spies in the hospital. Even if she managed to save Yosef, the mastermind would just try to poison him again or use some other method to harm him.

They had to catch the person behind all this, or the danger would never end. The doctor frowned, “Dr. Stone, you can’t help?”

Skr shook her head and said, “This poison is too bizarre. I’ve never encountered anything like it before, so there’s nothing I can do to help.”

“It seems we’ll need to consult more specialists,” the doctor said gravely. “Otherwise, I’m afraid he might notst more than a week.”

Skr let out a sigh. “I know this is asking a lot, but please do everything you can.”

Yosef’s attending physician nodded firmly. “We’ll do everything in our power,” he assured her.

After the doctor left, Skr carefully searched the room to confirm there were no hidden surveince devices. Only then did she produce her silver acupuncture needles and begin detoxifying Yosef.

After all the silver needles were inserted, Yosef suddenly convulsed and spat out a mouthful of dark, tainted blood. The poison had prated deeply into Yosef’s system. To fully detoxify him, Skr would need to perform another round of acupuncture treatment.

Skr swiftly cleaned up the iroom/i, making sure there was no trace of blood or any other suspicious evidence left behind, before calling Adam and

    Hudson back in.

Adam looked up at his mom with hopeful eyes. “Mpm, is Dad’s poison gone now?”

Skr gently shook her head and said to Adam, Mom doesn’t have a solution right now. I’ll need to go back and look into it some more.

Adam deted like a popped balloon and mumbled dejectedly, his voice small and trembling, “Mom, can’t you save Dad either?”

Skr gently stroked Adam’s head and said, “Just because I can’t help right now doesn’t mean I won’t find a wayter. I promise, I’ll find ba /bway bto /bbcure /bthe poison. Your dad is going to be okay.“/

Adam murmuted a quiet b“/bbmm/b” pressing his lips together as he gazed at the person lying in the hospital bed, his eyes brimming with Lane.

b“/bLying to little Adam like this and making him sad really gave me a pang of guilt,” Skr thought. “But for the sake of the n, I had no chove, thed only way.”
