Elianna was about to hit Skr when she e caught a glimpse of a ck suit jacket out of the corner of her eye. She forcibly swallowed her rage and binstead /b

burst into tears.

“It’s my fault. If you want to scald me with hot water, I won’tin,” she whimpered pitifully. “But we’re out in public. If you do this hereb, /bpeople will think we’re at odds. If a video of you pouring water on me gets online, theizens will tear you apart.”

She looked like putting Skr’s reputation above all else, which made Skr let out a coldugh.

“Skr, what are you doing?” Yosef’s voice came from behind, cold andced with fury.

Of course, Skr thought, rolling her eyes. No wonder she suddenly turned into such a nauseating act–her backer had arrived.

Yosef strode over and, upon seeing Elianna drenched, took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

The redness on Elianna’s skin hadn’t faded yet–it looked a bit rming.

“Go rest in the lounge. I’ll ask Hudson to buy you ba /bchange of clothes,” Yosef said.

Elianna copsed weakly against Yosef, hugging his waist and whispering sweetly, “I’m okay, Yosef.”

Tears welled in her eyes as she sobbed, “It was just a little misunderstanding between Skr and me. Please don’t me her.”

Yosef frowned. “You call this a little misunderstanding?”

If that coffee had just boiled, there wouldn’t be a patch of good skin left on Elianna.

Elianna sniffled, tears rolling down her cheeks and soaking a patch of Yosef’s shirt. He wanted to push her away, but seeing her scalded skin, he

hesitated.

“I don’t want you to argue with Skr because of me,” she murmured. “Let’s just forget it happened.”

“She hurt you like this–how can we pretend nothing happened?” Yosef snapped.

Elianna leaned into his arms and threw Skr a triumphant smile, blooming with smugness.

Skr stood nearby, arms crossed, watching like it was a showpletely entertained. Facing Elianna’s provocation, she smirked coldly, eyes filled

with contempt.

Elianna, who had just been basking in victory, burned with rage at Skr’s indifferent reaction and sudden counter–provocation.

Feigning desperation, Elianna called out, “Skr, say something! Tell Yosef you didn’t mean it!”

Skr didn’t respond. She nced at Yosef to see what he would do.

When she stayed silent, Elianna bit iher /ilip and resumed crying. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything…”

“There’s nothing to exin,” Yosef said coldly. “I saw everything that happened just now.”

Skr’s indifference agitated Yosef. Was she now too proud to even exin herself to him? he thought. If she didn’t need him, then he didn’t need bto /bshow her mercy either.

“You hurt someone, Skr,” Yosef said sharply. “And you’re not even going to apologizeb? /b

Skr’d known he’d take Elianna’s side, just like five years bago/b. Even though she saw iting, her heart still clenched bfor /bba /bbbrief moment/b.

But only for a moment. Her expression returned bto /bbcalm /bas she replied icily, “bYou /breally haven’t changed bat /ball.”

bThe /bremark sparked memories of theirst fight–when Skr pped him twice and called him disgusting.

bThat /bnameless anger surged back in Yosef. “We’re talking about an apology, Skr. Stop wasting time.”

b“/bbOh/b, an apology?” Skr stared him straight in the eye. “I’m not wrong. I’m not apologizing.”

“You’re still talking nonsense?” Yosef’s fists clenched, the veins on the back of his hand bulging as his restraint faltered.

“Yes. So what?” Skr’s eyes dropped to his fists, and she scoffed inwardly.

Her hatred toward Yosef had peaked. Her words turned even sharper, “What, Mr. Campbell? Going to hit yourwfully wedded wife for your beloved blittle /b

mistress?”

Skr didn’t like to call herself Campbell’s wife–but if it made the people she hated ufortable, she’d do it dly. If she was unhappy, why should

they be happy?

Sure enough, both Yosef and Elianna’s faces changed.

“Mr. Campbell and I are still married, Elianna,” Skr said to Elianna, “So what do you think you’re doing clinging to him like that?”

Then she turned to Yosef, “Since we’re not divorced yet, maybe try acting like a decent man. Stay away from those cheap womenb./b”

Elianna’s face turned crimson. She pulled away from Yosef, boiling with hatred for Skr, but still putting bon /bba /bteary, innocent faceb–/bjust about to speak,

when-

“Spare me the apologies,” Skr cut in. “If you really meant it, you wouldn’t have done it in the first ce. Your ‘sorry‘ doesn’t mean ba /bthing.”

“Do you have to be so aggressive, Skr?” Yosef barked.

i“/iAnd what about you?” Skr turned the fire on him. “You know you’re married, yet when another woman throws herself at you, you don’t resist one bit. What’s that supposed to mean?”

“–”

“What?” Skr cut him off. “I know you like her, but please, don’t unt your little romance in front of me. I don’t want my eyes tainted. What if I go blind -can you afford that?”

Yosef’s chest heaved. He ground his teeth. “Skr, stop talking nonsense.”

The tension crackled between them, their eyes locked in a silent war. The room was thick with gunpowder.

Elianna sobbed, “Yosef, Skr, please stop fighting. It’s all my fault…”

Skr sneered. “It is your fault. If you hadn’t stirred things bup/b, I’d have finalized the partnership deal by now. Instead, I’m wasting my time with you twob.” /b

Elianna was furious. Her face turned pale. She clutched her chest, grimacing in pain. “Sis, bhow /bcan you say that about me and Yosef…”

Skr rolled her eyes at them with zero restraint, broadcasting her disgust loud and clear.

Yosef had reached his limit. He didn’t want to keep pickering pointlessly.

He looked at herb, /bvoice low and dangerous, “I’ll give you onest chance, Skr. Will you apologize, or should I make you?”

Skr didn’t budge. Chin raised, she shot back, “I’m not apologizing. What bcan /byou do to me?”

“Fine.” Yosef let out a breathyugh. “Fine. Fine.” Each repetition heavier bthan /bbthe /bbst/b.
