CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: WAR PATH PT9—CASPER THE DESTROYER

As the two battles unfolded across Dravnel. Another battle was underway—and the two participants were not slowing down, showing their masterfully crafted techniques and refined bodies for maximum performance capacity.

Mirai jumped back from another devastating punch which destroyed the land and did a series of backflips to gain a good distance between them. Beads of sweat rolled down her face, making her hair stick to her forehead and neck.

She tightened her gloves, amplifying her destructive power and in a single leap, she closed the distance between her and the woman she was fighting—Mirai let out a gutteral scream as she sent a punch towards the woman.

The white Scabbard member, Seredithy, countered with her own punch—locking the attack in the air creating a stalemate. The ground beneath their feet sank a couple of inches and an upward shockwave tore it up as their Neuro-Qi clashed sending sparks flying around them before violently exploding pushing the two women away.

Seredithy skidded across the lake and guided herself to a stop—her feet stepped on the water as she constantly used Neuro-Qi to create a platform—her foe, Mirai was rather skilled in the way of hand-to-hand combat, the bruises on her body showed that—she unhooked her robe and allowed it to fall on the water revealing her attire which consisted of a body suit that hugged her chest and curves. Her pink eyes glowed with power as the mark given to them by Juin glowed.

She unsheathed her sword and held it in both hands—cherry blossoms bloomed on the sword and the pedals feel to the ground. As they touched the water, the surface turned pink and the entire lake became under her control.

WILD COLLIDING WAVE

The water surface responded to her desire and rose up creating massive waves that dwarfed the surrounding hills—the waves crashed down washing away the terrain as they approached Mirai.

Fuck, a water cultivator. Mirai cussed as she witnessed the violent waves rushing towards her—she was at a disadvantage with her kit, she knew running was futile and did the next best thing she could think off—she punched the ground creating a hole which she jumped into. She knew the hole was not going to stop the water but it would be enough for her to avoid getting swept away by the current.

The water died down and Mirai swam back to the surface. She took off her glasses and put them in her shirt. "I hate getting wet." she whispered to herself and focused on the woman she was fighting.

Her eyes roamed around the created ocean and they widened—in her displease with getting wet, she had lost track of her opponent. This is bad

Seredithy appeared from behind her and water swirled around her hand—a splash alerted Mirai but it was too late as the water formed a sphere that trapped Mirai inside.

Dammit. She cussed—she could feel her body growing weaker and weaker from the rather heavy water that surrounded her. Mirai gazed at the woman with a lazy eye and her vision started to blurr. Sorry Mr. Grigory... I got careless.

From the corner of Seredithy’s eye came two dark objects—Seredithy turned to look at the objects and she was forced to release the water prison in favor of dodging. The two objects? Were two children—the children skidded to a stop and rushed to Mirai.

The one with black and white hair reached Mirai before the one with the red and white hair. He knelt down, his baby blue eyes staring at the coughing woman. "You okay ma’am? My name is Chingo and that’s my brother Ringo. We were sent to help you by our master."

Mirai coughed out more water—she looked at the kids and relief washed over her—if Cheng had sent them, she knew that she was in capable hands. "Thank you."

Ringo gave her a thumbs up and a cheeky smile. "We will handle this."

Ringo’s expression changed as he got up and looked at Seredithy—the innocent, and playful smile he wore earlier was gone, it was replaced by a cold and calculated look. He grabbed his necklace and held it in his hand.

UPGRADE

Ringo’s body was clandestine by a golden light and his body structure grew—he went from being slightly above 4 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall—scales adorned parts of his body like hands and feet, and his eyes had a striking resemblance to that of a reptile. He breathed out, causing steam to pool from his mouth.

The water splashed violently as a sign of something was coming and in a blink, Ringo was gone, leaving the wader to dance alone—he appeared on Seredithy’s blind spot and threw a punch that was blazing with Neuro-Qi. The punch struck Seredithy on the side, cracking her armor and blasting her away from them.

Seredithy caught herself mid-flight and skidded on the water—blood oozed from the wound on her side and she coughed out blood—the recoil of the attack was just hitting her now. She gazed at the man standing there.

VIOLENT SERVER

Her cheeks puffed up as the saliva in her mouth conjured and she spat out a long thin needle that flew at tremendous speeds towards Ringo—Ringo dodged to the side but that proved to be ineffective as Seredithy swung her head to the side bringing the water stream needle towards Ringo giving the latter no time to dodge.

The needle struck Ringo cutting through his fingers as it passed.

Ringo undid the transformation reverting back to his normal size to minimize the damage—he yelled out in pain from the missing fingers.

Chingo having finished administrating aid to Mirai rushed to his brother’s side.

He flicked him on the head. "You should’ve waited for me."

Ringo sheepishly chuckled. "I should’ve."

Chingo’s eyes focused on Seredithy—he grasped the stakes, their opponent was a member of the White Scabbards, an infamous group comprised of Enlightened Realm Cultivators, knowing that, Chingo knew that he and his brother weren’t gonna win without that.

Respectively, each were at a Awakened Saint Realm.

"Brother... We need that to win." Chingo said to his brother.

Ringo nodded. "Yeah."

Their Neuro-Qi slowed down and evenly matched each other—a silver outline, outlined their bodies and they took steady breaths listening to their hearts—their heart’s frequency matched up and their bodies glowed brightly and they collided together, emitting an intense light.

As the light died down, they stood there but not as individual bodies.

A man wearing a red armor stood where the twins were. He had black and white hair with mismatched eyes showing both the eye colors of Chingo and Ringo—a cape attached itself on his shoulders and the unified force of the twins clutched their hands, causing the lake to be vaporized in an instant.

Casper—their Awakened form made his debut.
