CHAPTER 45: CHAPTER 45: WAR PATH PT10 — THE ALLIED WINS

The ground shattered as Casper moved from his position—his body becoming like a blur as he closed the distance between him and Seredithy. He punched Seredithy in the stomach sending her flying and he flickered behind her—another hit struck her back changing the course of her trajectory.

Casper flickered again and appeared before the incoming woman with his punch sent forward—the punch struck Seredithy in the face sending her flying through the mountains—Casper breathed in and dashed forward, closing the gap in mere moments. He grabbed Seredithy by the face and dragged her across the mountain side, scraping the walls with her face.

His brutal assault was not done—He pulled her to him and swung his hand, smashing Seredithy on the ground causing a fissure to form beneath her.

He took a breather and jumped back, gaining a bit of distance between him and her.

A dark aura flared up. Casper paused in his tracks unsure what he had seen. A pair of demonic eyes appeared in the darkness Casper looked around again, he was starting to see things.

The sky cracked and thunderous clouds covered Dravnel in its vastness—underneath Seredithy a pentagram appeared and blue smoke oozed from the pentagram followed by dark red eyes and a zombie-like revival of Seredithy.

She slumped forward—her mouth wide open and saliva dropped to the ground melting the stones—she let out a growl and staggered to the side and she was gone.

Where is she? Casper’s eyes moved rapidly as he was unable to trace the woman.

Saliva escaped his lips as a foot struck him on the back sending him flying away—Casper caught himself and skidded to a stop.

His knees buckled as his head struck the ground—a tremendous force was applied on his back, pressing him further into the ground. His aura flared up and the effect of the force lessened to a point he could stand up.

She’s too fast. Casper acknowledged her superior speed—she was too quick for him to catch—one minute she was in his face, the next? He was getting bludgeoned by a force that seemed sporadic.

His eyes danced around as he was pinned by the woman moving around him extremely quickly—each step the woman took when she stepped on the water caused him to jump—his reactions tied to what he was barely seeing in the case that she attacked.

The water molecules in the air combined and before Casper knew it—the entire scene was covered by surging waves of water.

Seredithy jumped from the water and swiped at Casper from the back causing blood to ooze from the wound—as Casper turned around to attack her, she was gone, her body submerged within the water.

Seredithy appeared from his side and kicked him in the ribs shattering Casper’s ribcage with a single blow and like before, she took refuge in the water before resuming her strategic assault.

Mirai wobbled into the scene—her eyes slightly widened when she saw how hard pressed Chingo and Ringo were—she scanned the water for their opponent and she could see her but with difficulty as the woman was too fast for them.

Her eyes widened when she saw it.

The logic behind the attacks of the woman—how she used the terrain to her advantage—to the normal eye, the way everything would seem sporadic, but there was a pattern—a moment where the woman would slightly pause before diving back into the water.

The pause was not big, a fraction of a second.

Mirai took off her gloves and dashed forward.

Time held its breath—Casper watched as another attack came at him, unable to dodge it—however, before it could reach him—a punch from Mirai struck Seredithy on the jaw, breaking it and sending the woman flying away.

Casper went to one knee and looked at Mirai. "Thank you."

"Let’s finish this." Mirai clutched her hands into fists and settled into her fighting style—her Neuro-Qi increasing.

90% output. She relaxed her tensed shoulders as the latent potential within her was released. She could feel the cores starting to grow weaker from the strain.

She blasted herself at Seredithy and engaged the latter in hand-to-hand combat—their strikes clearing away the trees and some of the landscape as their fighting moved away from where they were.

Mirai grabbed Seredithy’s hand and pulled the latter towards her—a punch struck Seredithy in the stomach sending her flying into the air.

"Now!" Mirai yelled.

Casper having given the signal glared at the sky and his eyes burned brightly as Neuro-Qi flowed through them—lasers shot from his eyes and struck Seredithy in the air before violently exploding.

As the explosion died down, Seredithy’s body dropped from the cloud of smoke and fell to the ground with a thud.

Mirai fell back on her behind, breathing heavily.

The fight with Seredithy concluded and Mirai, along with her companions were the ones who came out victorious.

Ri was having his hands full with Baihan—despite his favorable matchup when it came to ash and spatial manipulation, Baihan was an expect tactician—covering his blind spot with his ashes and avoiding the destructive, spatial deletion spheres that he was using.

Ri gained some distance between them and swung his scythe, cutting through the ash tendrils that were chasing him—in the distance he could see the massive tree, and the sounds of explosions. His hand tightened on his scythe—he allowed his Qi to flow and he dashes forward jumping from ash tendril to tendril.

He spun his body around, becoming a beyblade and he decimated through the ash, cutting a path between him and Baihan who brought up his own weapon conjured from ash to intercept the attack.

Sparks flew wildly in the air as the two fought to overpower the other.

Flashing lights from their auras and weapons clashing covered the sky as within a fraction of a second—the two had created a constellation of light that was visible in the sky.

Baihan jumped back gaining a bit of space between him and Ri—the air thickened as Baihan focused on his Qi exerting it outward, the ash he controlled returned to him and he exerted his influence to his surroundings, turning the trees into ash, the ground suffered the same fate as well—Baihan raised his hands and Chaos followed.

GIANT ASH PRISON

The ash split itself and approached Ri—the latter dodged the tendrils of ash that attempted to pierce him and weaved between them unknowingly setting himself into a position that Baihan desired.

"Crap." Ri’s foot sank and he glanced down to see that he had stepped on ash.

His vision quickly went dark, as the ash covered him from all around—outside the ash created a mausoleum-like pyramid sealing him inside.

And ending the battle.

Or so Baihan thought.

But that was far from the truth.

Inside the seal—Ri was formulating a plan, the structure he was in was causing complications within his core—the energy overload and the closing of his implants made it difficult to knead Neuro-Qi.

Ri knew, staying within the structure any longer would have dire consequences—he raised his hand and the tips of his finger glowed with Neuro-Qi as he opened the entirety of his core—he swung his hand downward projecting his Neuro-Qi into space, causing a tear in a form of fingers to appear and cut through the structure.

The slashes ignored the distance between Ri and his adversary and immediately hit Baihan, sending him flying with gashes on his chest—blood flying in the air while the trees and mountain behind Baihan were cut through by the attack from Ri.

And so on that day, the second battle was concluded.
