CHAPTER 213: BONDS OF HEARTS

After saying that, Yao Ying looked towards the area where Twin Mountains were present. She had already heard about it when the peddler had told Jiang Hao.

When she saw the Twin Mountains, she could easily see many Void Stones embedded deep within the lake formed between the mountains.

Jiang Hao was stunned. He knew about Void Stones... these were required for him to repair the ring of Senior Yin. She had said it would unlock another dimension within it. He didn’t know what that dimension was, but given how divine this ring was, it wouldn’t be anything bad.

Not to mention, he had to repair this ring fully, not for himself but for the sake of Senior Yin Ni, if he ever got the chance to do so.

"Here, put this in the ring. Senior Yin would know what to do with it." Yao Ying said while giving the stone back.

Jiang Hao nodded and put all the stones in the ring. He hadn’t heard from Senior Yin—perhaps she was still sleeping to recuperate.

"Senior, approximately how many Void Stones are needed to repair it to the point of opening a new dimension?" Jiang Hao had a feeling she might know.

"About one hundred."

Jiang Hao nodded. At least it wasn’t much... or perhaps it was, since finding Void Stones wasn’t easy.

They walked until they reached the back gate of the city. There wasn’t any interesting pavilion here; he was hoping to find Misty Cloud Pavilion.

Senior Yao seemed to love eating, so he wanted to bring her there. Although he really couldn’t figure out his own thoughts. He seemed too keen on making her happy—this wasn’t something in his nature.

It really felt quite odd, as if his whole being was different when he was with her. Although he loved walking alone, somehow he felt better while walking with her.

Is it really fate? It was hard to believe now. No doubt he felt an intense attraction to her, but who wouldn’t once they saw her? He wasn’t totally immune to charms; he admired beauty too.

So, is fate really able to affect feelings themselves? Or is it something which got generated just because of the result?

No doubt he felt intense attraction to Senior Yao, but didn’t it get generated by his own heart because he had an unbreakable bond with her? Fate had created the bond, but the feelings were generated by his own inner self.

Having a strong bond didn’t always mean a good relationship. Some humans leave their parents without a second thought. So in the end, the choice depends on the individual, how they see this bond.

If that was true, then it meant only one thing—he had already developed feelings of affection for her.

Jiang Hao sighed. He never even thought that this would happen in his life. He wondered how she felt. She had never shown any kind of rejection to him and never avoided him.

Not to mention letting him hold her hand—it was as if she was telling him that she had no intention of breaking the bond, whatever you want is up to you.

Jiang Hao instinctively looked towards her. Her beauty still mesmerized him.

"What is it?" Yao Ying asked without turning her head.

Jiang Hao came to his senses. "Should we leave this city, Senior?"

"So you aren’t going to wait? You forgot you have an appointment with the Ling Clan." Yao Ying smiled a little; she could easily see through his lies.

"Senior, you jest. This whole world might be filled with foolish people like them. If I have to wait for each of them, then I might spend my whole life waiting." Jiang Hao really didn’t care about what the Ling Clan was going to do.

If they really came, then if he wasn’t able to kill them because of their strength, he would just add one more enemy to his list.

They left the gate and moved towards their next destination, Twin Mountains.

....

"Where are they?"

A middle-aged man flying above the city asked the burly man beside him.

"Maybe they are hiding themselves?" When he had returned, he wanted to ask his senior brother to come, but by fortune, he had met his uncle.

His uncle was at the mid-stage of Void Reversion. Now he would show them that even hiding one’s cultivation realm wouldn’t amount to much against absolute strength.

"Let’s go and ask the guards at both gates. There is a chance those two have fled."

The middle-aged man said and dragged the burly man with him.

After they asked at the back city gate, they found out that those two had left from there not long ago.

"Let’s go. We have a chance to catch them." They flew immediately.

"As expected of those bastards. They were just acting tough..." The burly man spoke.

"Hmph... what do you expect? You think they will be strong enough to go against the Ling Clan? Now just hope that they haven’t fled off-route. It will be impossible to catch them then."

The burly man nodded.

Just as the middle-aged man thought that it really might be the case, he saw two people walking on the road. He wasn’t able to sense them through spirit sense.

He got stunned, because these two people matched the description of what his nephew had told him, and by the looks of it, they weren’t even trying to flee. They were just walking as if they were strolling.

"Uncle, it’s them!" The burly man was able to see them too, albeit not clearly... but it was enough to recognize them.

When the middle-aged man heard this, he got infuriated at his nephew. "Shut up! My eyes aren’t blind... you fool, even I can’t sense their cultivation realm."

The burly man got stunned at first, but then he thought of something. "Maybe they have some treasure to hide their cultivation realm?"

The middle-aged man didn’t deny it, as he had thought the same, but it was still just an assumption, and he wouldn’t just act on assumptions.

Their Ling Clan hadn’t survived until now to become a big clan by miracle. They were cautious to the core. Only some foolish younger generation who hadn’t faced any difficulties due to the fame acquired by their ancestors were impulsive.

Looking at those two walking like they didn’t even care who would come for them was already a sign of dominance. He decided not to even think about attacking them—in fact, he had to apologise.

"Listen, you bastard. We are going to meet them, and it would be better if you kept your mouth shut, or else I’ll chop your head off, even if you are my nephew."
