Heaven Slaying Blade
Chapter 43 - 40: Named Heaven Slaying_2
Recalling the events that had unfolded earlier, Chu Mo's mind was still in a state of chaos. Everything he'd seen today had been too incredible, utterly beyond his comprehension.
The starry sky that was both illusionary and real, the eerie bloody moon, and the beam of light that shot from his jade.
And… the final moment, when the moon that had filled the entire space suddenly exploded.
Even now, Chu Mo was still uncertain about what had really happened.
Could it be that everything that had occurred was just to show him this incomprehensible spectacle?
"Where's Qi Xiaoyu?"
Chu Mo sat up and a piece of paper gently fluttered down from his body.
He picked it up casually, and there was a simple message written on it: "I have something urgent to take care of, I'll be back soon—Qi Xiaoyu."
"So she left. That's a relief. At least she wasn't left behind in that mysterious space." Chu Mo mumbled to himself, feeling a sense of loss.
He originally thought he could assist Qi Xiaoyu this time, but he didn't anticipate experiencing these strange events.
However, once he knew Qi Xiaoyu was safe, Chu Mo could breathe easy. He looked up at the sky to find a golden, full moon hanging high, emanating a cold radiance.
Chu Mo took a deep breath, "The moon is so beautiful!"
With that, he entered the jade's inner space. After everything that had happened, Chu Mo felt there must have been some changes in this jade.
He was right about the beginning, but he couldn't possibly foresee the end.
As he entered the jade's space, Chu Mo was absolutely stunned.
It wasn't just a slight change… but a massive transformation!
Even though the jade's space was initially extensive, it was in complete chaos. Besides the large piece of bluestone and the small grey tree, there had been nothing else before.
But now, the space inside had grown many times bigger, a full hundred feet in radius!
Such a large space could hold not only household items, but also a large building easily.
The bluestone was still there, with Heaven's Will resting on the top. But beside Heaven's Will, there was something new!
It was... a knife!
A blood-red knife!
Without a scabbard, and with a narrow blade, it could be mistaken for a sword at first glance, but upon closer examination, it was a blood-red cleaver.
The vivid red color seemed to be flowing like fresh blood across its blade.
The patterns on the blade were extremely intricate, as if they contained endless mysteries.
The cold blade edge of the blood-colored knife emitted a strange light, which at once reminded Chu Mo of the bloody moon he'd just seen.
However, he found it absurd that this blood-colored cleaver, which had suddenly appeared in the jade space, could have anything to do with that bloody moon.
The knife seemed to possess a certain bewitching power, compelling anyone to pick it up.
Chu Mo eyed the knife warily, feeling a certain reluctance!
This reluctance was instinctive, as if a voice from within his soul was telling him not to touch it!
An excellent blade held fatal attraction for any man... even a boy, and Chu Mo was no exception.
So, he didn't understand, what was this instinctive reluctance?
It was just a knife, what could possibly happen if he picked it up?
With these thoughts, Chu Mo activated the spiritual sense. Then, the knife was directly held in his hand.
It was fine!
There wasn't any uncomfortable feeling.
However, Chu Mo felt like he heard a sigh coming from the depths of his soul.
Then… nothing else.
That feeling of reluctance vanished completely.
In the next instant, Chu Mo's consciousness left the jade's space.
The blood-red cleaver was now in his hands.
To Chu Mo's surprise, once the knife left the jade's space, its blood color faded and changed into a bright silver!
"How strange!" Chu Mo mumbled, sending the knife back into the jade's space.
The moment it returned into the jade's space, the blood-red cleaver returned to its original form, radiating an eerie, bloody light, as if blood was flowing on it.
After testing the process several times, Chu Mo confirmed that whenever the knife was taken out, it would become an ordinary-looking cleaver; and when put back into the jade's space, it would become blood-red.
"Interesting!" Chu Mo was delighted as if he'd discovered a precious item. He had seen numerous weapons since childhood, and instantly recognized this knife as an extremely sharp weapon!
All those patterns, shaped naturally and extremely intricate, took countless refinements to achieve such a state.
At least, Chu Mo had never seen a weapon forged to this extent.
"What is the name of this knife?" Chu Mo furrowed his brows, trying to find the name of the craftsman on the blade.
A famed blade is supposed to have the craftsman's name on it.
However, he couldn't find any marking on this blade no matter how hard he looked.
But, on the part protecting the hand, Chu Mo did find a tiny… a bloody moon mark!
The mark was small and hidden among the cloud patterns on the blade, almost unnoticeable unless you were looking for it.
"Could it really have some relation to that bloody moon?" Chu Mo was surprised.
Then he looked carefully at the blood-colored mark again. Just a glance made his head spin and his body turned cold as if immersed in an icy cave!
Chu Mo shuddered, and quickly regained his composure. His lips twitched; he was reluctant to look at that mark again.
Again he started searching for the craftsman's name but found none eventually.
"That's not normal! How can such an excellent knife… not have a name?" Despite its strange origins, Chu Mo was confident that it must be a well-known knife.
Any master craftsman would treat the weapons they personally forged as their own children, even cherishing them more than their own offspring!
How could they not name it?
An idea suddenly sprung to Chu Mo's mind, he inwardly commanded, "Jade... show me the knife!"
Boom!
Suddenly, Chu Mo's field of vision changed. It was as if he was in an endless sea of blood, with no other color between heaven and earth.
Nothing but blood-red!
"What place is this?" Chu Mo's eyes bulged, he was finding it difficult to breathe.
Because this space was not only boundlessly blood-red but also filled with the scent of blood!
It looked as if this endless sea was composed entirely of human blood!
The scent it emitted was so overpowering that Chu Mo almost collapsed.
At this point, a huge wave of blood surged forward, directly pouring over Chu Mo, instantly drowning him.
Two bloody words suddenly materialized in his mind.
"Heaven Slaying!"
