Hell Game: Starting from the Metropolis
Chapter 14: Game Completion
The moment Liu Zheng pressed the confirm button, his vision blurred.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in an endless grassland.
“Hm?”
He only had time to utter a puzzled sound before a huge black shadow engulfed him.
Then, Liu Zheng was lifted into the air.
Two massive fangs pierced through him, injecting venom that rapidly dissolved his body.
His nearly immortal “Flesh Rebirth” ability failed to activate properly, and soon only half of his body remained.
He turned his head and saw two vertical pupils as large as spotlights staring at him.
“Load save.”
The system notification sounded.
The next second, Liu Zheng returned to the resting room.
“Whoa, you cleared it?”
Bullhorse exclaimed in shock.
“No, I just loaded the save.”
He shook his head and looked at the screen. This text is hosted at novel-fire.net
The words “Next Level” had already reverted to black.
No wonder no one could beat this game. Who would have thought the final level was actually being transported inside the game—and being the one eaten?
“Oh.”
Bullhorse responded.
“Don’t you want to know what the last level is?”
“No, if I knew, I’d be unable to resist playing.”
Bullhorse shook its head.
“That’s actually quite wise.”
Liu Zheng ignored it and started thinking about a way to clear the level.
Charging head-on was definitely impossible. The enemy not only had venom that could dissolve Flesh Rebirth but also far surpassed him in strength and speed.
Recalling how he had just been held in that creature’s mouth, he got an idea.
“Boss, can you estimate how powerful the explosion of this thing would be?”
Liu Zheng took out the Fossil of Frenzied Feces Worm.
“Kind of have a feel for it.”
Bullhorse nodded.
“Then please hit me with an equal amount of force.”
He said.
“Where should I hit?”
Bullhorse raised its hoof.
“Try the tentacles first.”
Liu Zheng stacked four tentacles on the ground.
“Alright.”
Bullhorse didn’t hold back and stomped down.
Bang!
Fragments of stone scattered, and the concrete floor was crushed into a deep pit.
Liu Zheng’s four tentacles were instantly torn into a bloody pulp.
“Ugh!”
He gasped sharply.
Although his body structure was reconstructed, the pain still existed and was even clearer due to heightened senses.
Liu Zheng looked at the torn parts of the tentacles, where flesh buds rapidly grew from the wounds.
A few seconds later, he regrew four tentacles.
“You really are a monster.”
Bullhorse twitched its mouth.
“Not without a cost either.”
Liu Zheng shook his head.
His figure was noticeably thinner.
Obviously, if flesh and body were separated, he had to consume flesh from other parts to repair.
“That’s still pretty messed up.”
Bullhorse complained.
Liu Zheng was standing still letting it hit him. If he wanted to wear Bullhorse down, even if it eventually killed him, it would be utterly exhausted.
If there happened to be a delivery order, it probably wouldn’t finish it.
“Got anything to eat, boss?”
Liu Zheng felt very hungry.
“Don’t call me boss. You’re the one who owes me every day.”
Bullhorse rolled its eyes.
Though annoyed, it still handed Liu Zheng a can.
“Name: Expired Bullhorse Meat Can”
“Type: Item”
“Quality: Inferior”
“Effect: Restores stamina, small chance to get ‘Food Poisoning’ status.”
“Note: A can long overdue for consumption, preserved until now due to its owner’s hesitation.”
Liu Zheng opened the lid, and a strong aroma of spices burst out.
The fat inside had liquefied, and uniform chunks of meat floated on the surface.
Feigning ignorance, he raised the can and poured it into his mouth.
Unheated stewed beef of course didn’t taste good, but because his body craved nutrients, Liu Zheng was still full of appetite.
Soon, the entire can of bullhorse meat was swallowed.
Visibly, his physique became plumper again.
“Again, this time hit my upper body, a bit harder.”
Liu Zheng curled up, wrapping four tentacles around his knees.
“You’re not actually enjoying being hit, are you?”
Bullhorse mumbled as it mercilessly kicked him.
“Pia!”
Liu Zheng was sent flying and slammed against the wall.
The huge sound echoed through the resting room, and his mind was in chaos.
He felt like he had been run over by a steamroller; both upper and lower halves were a complete mess.
Only the head and heart, protected in layers, remained intact.
“Still not dead? Just those eyeballs can cause this effect?”
Bullhorse exclaimed in surprise.
“Maybe.”
Liu Zheng said with difficulty, but a series of notes flashed through his mind.
“Shub-Niggurath!”
He slid down the wall as ‘Flesh Rebirth’ began to take effect.
Half a minute later, Liu Zheng’s body was fully restored, though much thinner.
“Boss, some food again?”
He stretched out tentacles that were only half as thick as before.
“You brat.”
Bullhorse’s eyes widened.
“You don’t want all your earlier efforts to go to waste, right?”
“Damn!”
Bullhorse scratched its head in frustration and took out six more expired bullhorse meat cans.
“Please help me open them.”
Liu Zheng said weakly.
“If the completion rewards don’t satisfy me, I’ll roast you alive.”
Bullhorse ground its big teeth with a creak.
Using its horns, it opened all the cans, then one by one poured the contents into Liu Zheng’s mouth.
After a force-feeding session, he returned to his original size and even gained a little weight.
Apparently, this world didn’t strictly follow physical laws.
After stretching his limbs, Liu Zheng stared at the phone screen for two seconds and pressed the confirm button.
After the familiar dizziness, the black shadow enveloped him again.
Liu Zheng looked up; a huge blood-red mouth was just inches away.
“Your delivery has arrived.”
He posed like a diver and plunged into the giant snake’s mouth.
The giant snake froze for a moment, then wildly shook its head, trying to throw him out.
Liu Zheng wrapped his tentacles around the tips of the venomous fangs to temporarily stabilize himself.
He glanced around, feeling it wasn’t safe enough.
The giant snake seemed to realize something and thrashed even more violently.
“Trying to refuse delivery?”
He loosened his tentacles, curled into a ball, and jumped deeper into the snake’s mouth.
Then, Liu Zheng got stuck.
He could feel his bones being crushed by the muscular esophagus of the giant snake.
In a few minutes, he would become a compressed biscuit sliding into its stomach.
This helpless despair could crush anyone.
Fortunately, Liu Zheng was not human.
In the darkness, a fat maggot blinked its tiny eyes and released a fart that had been held in for tens of thousands of years.
Immediately after, a spark ignited, spreading into boundless flames.
Amidst the fierce explosion, he lost consciousness.
“Wake up, wake up.”
After a series of shouts, Liu Zheng gradually regained consciousness.
He opened his eyes just as Bullhorse raised its hoof.
......
......
Bullhorse casually lowered its hoof.
“Cleared this time?”
It asked.
“Should have cleared it.”
Liu Zheng opened his phone but found the “Gluttonous Snake” game had disappeared.
Where did the reward go?
He searched his body and finally found something in the right pocket.
