CHAPTER 241: I AM FINE?

Riven rubbed his face as he awoke. He wanted to sleep for a little longer. The fatigue from the late-night session with Ronan and Soren still weighed him down.

Just as he was about to drift back into the comfort of his pillow, a loud knock jolted him upright. The sound echoed through his small room, and he could hear Troy’s unmistakable voice on the other side.

"Riven! Eli’s here for your check-up! Please get up!"

A check-up? Riven frowned. He felt perfectly fine, maybe a little sore, but that was normal, he just took on two male leads at once!

Still, the mention of Eli was enough for Riven to wake up. He rarely had the opportunity to meet his bunny. Eli was the complete opposite of him, shy, dedicated, hardworking, he was someone who wanted to be useful to society. And because of his job as a healer, the only time he got to see Eli was when he was sick!

Riven threw off the covers and swung his legs over the side of the bed. He could hear Troy moving around outside, probably pacing down the hall, waiting for him.

Riven took a moment to collect himself, running a hand through his tousled hair, making sure he looked good, and then made a beeline for the bathroom.

Splashing cold water on his face helped clear the grogginess, and after freshening up, he walked towards the door.

As he stepped out of his room, he was greeted by Troy. Riven felt awkward, he coughed once before saying, "Again, I apologise for pushing you." Riven did not know what came over him, the intense urge overcame him, and he feared that if he did not push Troy away the night before, he would have pounced on him!

"Why the check-up? It’s just... Heat." Riven said nervously.

Troy shrugged, his nonchalant demeanour only adding to Riven’s anxiety. "It’s the after-effect of being separated for too long, you know? Best to let Eli check you out. You really don’t want Ronan on your case if he thinks there’s something off."

Riven sighed dramatically but complied, not wanting to deal with the fallout if he ignored the check-up. Deep down, he knew he was fine—just a little tired. What could Eli possibly find? He was FINE!

"Oh my gods! Riven! You are not fine!" Eli exclaimed, his voice rising a pitch. "Your temperature’s elevated, and there’s an imbalance in your body still lingering from the heat."

Well, that was unexpected.

He took Riven’s wrist and pressed his fingers against his pulse point. "Hold still." Eli was trying to double-check. The seconds ticked by as Eli focused, and Riven felt the heat of Eli’s scrutiny.

"Hah... How are you even walking?" Eli sighed to himself. This careless half-wolf!

"What can I say? I am a medical miracle."

Eli glared at Riven, not out of anger but concern.

"You should be on bed rest," Eli said seriously, as he wrote a prescription for Riven.

Riven raised an eyebrow, a smirk creeping onto his face. "By bed rest, you mean...?"

Eli crossed his arms, his pout unmistakable. "No funny business. Actual bed rest!"

Riven chuckled, the sound bubbling up despite the seriousness of the situation. "Alright, alright. No funny business."

Eli leaned back against the sofa, crossing his arms with a mix of concern and curiosity. "So, how did you handle things last night? Troy sounded a bit off when I asked about you, and now I’m wondering what the heck went down."

Riven shrugged, trying to play it cool even though his heart raced a little at the memory. "Well, it was both a dream come true and a nightmare," he admitted, a playful smirk forming on his lips.

Eli’s brows shot up, his expression shifting from curiosity to shock. "Wait, what do you mean by that?"

Riven took a deep breath before dropping the insane fact. "I kind of had a threesome with Ronan and Soren."

Eli’s jaw dropped, and for a moment, he looked like a deer caught in headlights. His face turned a brilliant shade of red, and Riven couldn’t help but laugh at his friend’s reaction. "You did what?!"

"Yep!" Riven replied, his grin widening. "It was wild. I mean, how often does something like that happen?"

"Wild? More like... Insane!" Eli managed to stammer, still processing the revelation. "I can’t believe- How-" Eli stammered, and the redness on his face only seemed to grow.

"How about next time you join in~" Riven teased. He was being serious, though, hopefully Eli got the hint. He had to claim the bunny someday!

"You- you-" Eli could not get words out, he was imagining how it would be, the images refused to leave his mind.

Riven suddenly turned the conversation in a more serious direction.

"Eli, how are you doing, really?" He leaned to get closer to Eli, genuinely concerned.

Eli’s smile returned. "You know, we’ve been busy. But it’s good. Ronan handled the elders with precision and efficiency. He really didn’t let it get to the point of a civil war, which means there were far fewer casualties than there could have been."

Riven nodded, feeling a swell of pride for Ronan. "That’s a relief. I can’t imagine how chaotic things could have gotten."

"Exactly," Eli continued, his expression shifting to one of determination. "We’ve been working hard to heal the soldiers who were injured. Some didn’t make it, but it was far less than what it could have been. It feels like we made a real difference."

"We? I did nothing, it was all you guys." Riven waved it off and chuckled.

Eli begged to differ. Ronan was able to strike precisely and efficiently because of the list Riven was able to procure. He did make a difference!

"But you played a part in helping people, Riven. You should be proud of that. Every little bit counts, you know?"

Riven sighed, "Well, if you say so." He did not want any credit, he did not need any credit. But...
