CHAPTER 236: WELCOME WAGON

"Mr. Zack, it doesn’t matter where I live, as long as Jim and I are together I would live in a box." Matt paused, then asked about clothing. "This is all I have—a robe and the not so nice clothing I had."

"That’s already been taken care of. The wardrobe is at the house and it will carry you several months as you expand in size." Zack gestured toward the door. "The other two boys will also have their clothing there, and as needed we have plenty of clothing for pregnant Genmen here on the ranch. We recycle everything."

He continued, his tone becoming more business-like. "Now that you’re producing a lot of nectar, you are expected to make sure that we are rewarded with a fair amount prior to delivery. As soon as you deliver, it all goes to the child. We produce various amounts of items here in the gardens for consumption and you will be compensated for the nectar that you deliver to the collection department."

Zack’s expression softened slightly. "Maybe when things settle down, under supervision, you and the boys Lonnie and Donnie and their mates will get to go out to the restaurant in the Township. A malted would be yours. I’ll go with you personally so that there is not a problem."

"So, if there’s nothing else to be done, Pat, you go ahead and get dressed and I’ll come back and pick everybody up." He headed toward the exit. "I need to go get the big speeder to carry all of you home."

Madison was driving and kind of looked at Mr. Zack when the two goons walked out in robes, realizing they were walking as freely as they did when they tried to abduct Mason. He smiled and realized what had happened—these were their two new life mates. Humans, how fitting. He didn’t recognize the third one that walked out, but he knew that Waddles was the first carry.

Madison pulled up to the front entrance of the new larger house that had been recently built and waved at Homer and Clayton as the boys played out in the yard. Clayton was nursing Roman and hollered back at Mr. Zack. He pointed at his stomach and relayed that number three was on the way.

Zack shook his head and waved right back. "Congratulations!" he hollered.

"You mean the one that’s nursing has had another one inside of him already? Is that even healthy?" Lonnie looked at Zack with concern.

"I don’t know who instigated it, Lonnie, but I can guarantee you it was not done against Clayton’s will. In fact, he is probably the one that made sure that it took." Zack watched Clayton fondly. "You see, when you have a mate that you’re in love with and the time is right, he will bear himself to his mate and conceive his child over and over again. The older child playing in the yard belongs to Clayton—he birthed him when he was quite young, and then he was bred back and birthed the one he is holding. Now the gentleman that’s on the porch is the stepfather to both of those boys, but don’t tell him that they’re not his because he’ll definitely tell you different. But finally, they’re going to have one together."

"Don’t forget to make an appointment with Lex, young man!" Zack yelled back. "And I want to see the results myself, you hear me!"

"Yes Sir, no problem Sir! I got a meeting tomorrow with him for tests and I will bring the results straight to you, sir." Clayton’s voice carried across the yard. "It took me a little wrangling, but I finally got Homer down and we made this baby."

"Just as I figured—Clayton did instigate it." Zack looked at Lonnie with a knowing smile. "Looks like he’s going to be a champion producer. At least he has a good mate that will stick by him."

Zack opened the door to the new home and showed the three couples inside. There was more than enough seating in the living room, and the kitchen was well appointed—it even had four high chairs. As in every Genmen home on the Z1, there was a small book nook with a chair for reading. All three adults’ rooms were nicely appointed with bedside tables, big beds, a chair with a lamp for reading, and a very nice wardrobe closet.

He was most proud of the next room that he would show them—the baby’s room. The beds were set up for all of them, complete with everything that any genman child would need. Plenty of diapers and bottles in case there was extra nectar to be pumped, and a small refrigeration unit to store it in. Lonnie, Donnie, and Jason couldn’t believe what they were seeing. At their old ranch—or should they say keeping area—it was bare basics, nothing like this. They were very fortunate to have been blessed with the Z1.

"I’ll have a meal delivered to you so that you can rest and relax, and you can actually eat it." Zack gestured around the space.

"I am very capable of cooking until the boys perfect their skills," Jim spoke up. "I can show them pointers in case they aren’t quite up to par."

"Well see there, you’re already working as a unit." Zack smiled approvingly. "Willing to help each other out in the areas the other does not possess yet. The pantry is full, the fridges stocked with all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and other nourishment. At this time I’m going to leave you to your lives—it’s what you make of it that counts."

Donnie was already at the refrigerator and pulled out a fresh fruit. "We have Zaggnars here! I love these things, but they’re so expensive. How can the Z1 afford these, or is this just something special?"

"Nope, they’re nothing special. Here we grow them—we have trees, we have fields here where we grow our fresh fruits and our fresh vegetables." Zack explained with pride. "What we don’t consume here we sell at our markets in town to the locals and to the occasional tourists that come through. Here at the ranch we get them at the produce section at the farm side."

He continued, "I’ll have a few people show you around. In fact, tomorrow, since nobody is working here for the next few days until you get used to the place, the men can show you around and introduce you to the Z1 and your neighbors, because they’re going to be very important as time goes along."

All three of the young men were definitely taken aback. Zach bid the boys goodbye and told them to get used to each other because they were in it for the long haul.
