CHAPTER 137: CHAPTER 137 PLAN TO ESCAPE I

The day dragged on, each minute excruciatingly slow. Daniel’s butt ached from staying in the same position for hours. By his calculations, it was at least lunchtime; noon had come and gone, and his stomach rumbled loudly enough to be heard from afar. He hadn’t eaten anything in so long.

Matt Valez walked to the opposite counter and returned with a dining table, setting it up before him. It looked miserable, but in his state, it was perfect.

Just as Matt sat down, another figure arrived—Ricardo Valez, his father, rolling his wheelchair to the edge of the table. A moment later, a young lad with shining blond hair and a bright appearance came in, carrying a tray. For whatever reason, he didn’t spare Daniel a glance, though he was certain the boy had seen him.

Well, it’s not like the boy could help his life, Daniel thought. Wait a minute... he could. If he could infiltrate the boy’s mind and make him hand over the key to these unfortunate chains, he’d be as good as free. It was his only option.

Like a hawk, Daniel watched as Matt slowly opened his food, the nice aroma drifting through the air.

Fuck it!! Daniel was starving. No matter how embarrassing it was, he began to salivate. Still, he remained composed, refusing to break as he watched Matt raise his fork, dig deep into the meat stew, and munch into it with ease.

Matt smiled as he ate—an eerie smile—before sparing the young boy a glance. "The food tastes great today, good job, Damian." He shook his head and went back to his meal while the boy served water from a jug before excusing himself.

After several more spoons, Matt grinned. "Want some, Daniel?" he asked, still not looking at him.

Daniel was torn between his self-respect and the baby in his stomach. The madman didn’t know he was pregnant, and he intended to keep it that way. Who knows what Matt might do upon learning he carried the baby of a man he loathed with passion?

He was worried, pained, and still haunted by what his family had done to him. He could only grit his teeth. This was all his fault.

Leaving his mission for romance... yes, he had wanted to level up, not lose himself in the process. But guess what! He had to do both: make sure nothing happened to his lovers and kill those bitches who called themselves his family. Their pathetic lives would soon be over.

"Just a little..." he shamelessly agreed. He knew the man wanted him to grovel, and if that’s what it took to achieve his mission, he would give him a good groveling. His heart was still in pieces, hurting so badly he felt the world might put him down, probably kill him, if it saw him. But this was survival of the fittest; he wasn’t just doing it for himself, but for his babies.

Matt got up, leaving Ricardo, who had abandoned his food to see what his son was up to this time.

"As you wish..." Matt took the plate of meat stew and brought it closer to the chair Daniel was strapped to. Just when it seemed he was about to let him eat, a devastating slap fell upon Daniel’s cheeks. He stumbled from the chair, landing hard on the floor.

Ouch!! That hurts like hell...

He had fallen on his side, not his stomach, but he was still worried his baby might be affected if nothing was done.

"Leave him now, you monstrous pig...." Alexander weakly yelled. His voice wasn’t as vibrant as Daniel knew it, more like a whisper. It made Daniel shed a tear.

I will kill you if I get out of this place. Just like your pussy of a mother went six feet under, the same shall await you both. This time, you won’t get the luxury of a grave. I will feed you to the vultures for hurting my men.

Daniel began trying to remember the teachings Alex had instilled in him, the fighting skills his man possessed. All he had to do was tap into them.

"Oh boy, you can still talk. What a surprise. I thought you would be dead by now, but I guess you’re stronger than you seem," Matt grinned. He picked up a hammer and walked majestically closer. "Maybe that nail I dug deep into your hands isn’t as painful as I expected it to be..." Matt turned serious and raised the hammer, about to strike again, before a voice from behind stopped him.

"Matt, enough. I am trying to eat; you’re disrupting me." Ricardo’s voice ended his mad act.

Matt halted midway, his eyes twitching, neck curved as he observed Alex. "My dad doesn’t like seeing me inflict pain on people. What a kind man he is..." he exclaimed. He then walked out, throwing the hammer aside and dropping the meat stew on Daniel’s head, which poured all over his body.

"You can now have your feelings, Daniel. Let me go take my father to his room. I will be back for you both." He announced this before squatting beside Ricardo and guiding him out of the dining room.

Now that they were alone, Daniel tried to scavenge the remaining food. He strained for a piece of meat that had fallen to the ground, but his hands couldn’t reach. He tilted his head, but it was impossible, until a voice brought him out of his attempts.

"Just stop, Daniel. End it already. I have a plan, but I don’t think we can escalate this together. I will be a barrier for you. All you have to do is follow my lead, and you shall leave this hell before that despicable being returns." His words struck Daniel.

No. He wasn’t going anywhere without him. This wasn’t going to be like a movie where Alex sacrifices his life and rots there. That would not happen on his watch.

"We are leaving together, Alexander. You and me. And there is nothing you can do about it," he deadpanned.

Alex’s eyes trailed over him before landing on the hairpin in his hair. "Use the pin and follow my instructions accordingly. If we do this, we might make it out alive....."
