Her Marriage: The Night is Still Young
Chapter 35: Baby, I Love You
CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: BABY, I LOVE YOU
Upon a closer look, it really is his handwriting.
"You can take a good look. If there’s nothing to add, you can sign it. Once signed, let the lawyers handle it."
"..." Josephine felt a sense of relief in her heart, looking at Nathaniel in disbelief.
In court, he had resolutely refused the divorce.
Unexpectedly, now he was the one suggesting it.
It caught her by surprise.
Julian’s eyes lit up at this, nearly grabbing it to read carefully.
Josephine calmed herself, "Nathaniel, are you sure?"
Nathaniel looked solemn, "I’ve already signed. Would I lie to you? Once you sign, the agreement becomes effective."
"However, I can’t grant you custody of the child. If you want to see the child, you can come back anytime."
Josephine listened and looked over the divorce agreement again.
The divorce agreement was fair, with no harsh demands.
His only request was custody of Henry Gallagher.
After confirming there were no issues with the divorce agreement,
Josephine took out a pen from her bag and signed promptly.
In duplicate.
After signing, she handed a copy to Nathaniel.
"I’ll give you custody of Henny; I won’t contest it."
"Okay." Nathaniel nodded.
Julian’s eyes gleamed, unable to conceal his joy, "Josephine, congratulations on regaining your freedom."
"Once you’re divorced, can I have a chance to pursue you again?"
Josephine frowned, cursing in disgust, "Lunatic."
Nathaniel’s eyes darkened, like a predator locking onto prey, as he glanced at Julian, then at Josephine unpredictably.
"... Josephine, let’s head back to Audenburg. It’s not too late now, and we can still call a lawyer there to handle the divorce."
Josephine hesitated for a few seconds, "It’s fine if the lawyer handles it tomorrow."
Nathaniel curled his lips slightly, his voice laced with amusement, "Let’s do it today. The sooner it’s done, the sooner you’ll be free."
"..." An inexplicable sadness pricked Josephine’s heart.
Indeed.
The sooner they divorced, the sooner he could give Vivian Shaw a legitimate status.
"Alright!" Josephine opened the car door and got in.
"Josephine... if there’s anything you can’t solve, call me. My number hasn’t changed, but I guess you’ve deleted it. Here’s my card, keep it." Julian hurriedly slipped his card to her through the car window.
Josephine, feeling agitated, had no desire for any entanglement and took the card absentmindedly, "Alright, I’m leaving now."
"Driver, start the car."
The car slowly started moving.
Julian chased the car for a few steps, "Josephine, can you call me when you get to Audenburg?"
Josephine ignored him, slowly rolling up the car window.
Julian stopped chasing, feeling dejected, taking a heavy breath.
Nathaniel looked at him with a half-smile, "Mr. Grant, do you want to come to Audenburg with us?"
Julian scoffed, "Nathaniel, I’ve heard of your methods and know your capabilities."
As he spoke, he patted Nathaniel’s shoulder defiantly and leaned in close to his ear, "Unfortunately, your methods and capabilities mean nothing to me. Frankly, you’re not worthy of Josephine. Don’t play tricks, just give her freedom obediently."
Nathaniel maintained a gentlemanly smile, shrugged nonchalantly, "Duly noted, we... shall meet again."
With that, Nathaniel took long strides toward the car.
More than ten bodyguards accompanying him also got into the cars behind.
"Drive."
"Vroom vroom vroom!"
Five luxury cars drove out of the parking lot one after another.
After leaving the parking lot,
Nathaniel’s face grew somber, and his aura dropped to freezing point.
He had been in tough circles since he was 15 or 16.
Encountered countless challenging characters and bullies, but no matter their background, none dared provoke him so openly.
What stirred his urge to kill even more was Julian daring to flirt with his wife right in front of him.
Bodyguard: "President Gallagher, this Julian Grant is too arrogant, should we teach him a lesson?"
Nathaniel didn’t reply, but his mind was made up.
Julian Grant has a deep background.
His father and brother are in politics.
And not just any background. To say the least about his father, his brother alone is akin to an ancient secret police chief, directly obeying the emperor’s command.
If he wanted to seize a conglomerate, it would take just one word.
So, if they wanted Julian dead, it would have to be in a ’seamless’ accident.
However, for such a small matter, it’s not worth the hassle. Better to swallow this anger for now.
...
An hour and a half later.
Josephine arrived in Audenburg.
Just as the car passed through customs, four or five cars surrounded and forced her car to stop.
"Screech--" The driver slammed on the brakes, nearly causing a rear-end collision.
Josephine and her assistant lurched forward with the momentum, only to be restrained by the seatbelt.
"What’s happening?"
"Miss, there are cars in front stopping our car."
Josephine’s heart tightened, instinctively checking through the window.
The door of the Rolls Royce in front opened, and Nathaniel came out with a grim face.
He strode towards her car with long legs.
Twenty-some bodyguards also got out of the car, surrounding her vehicle.
Her two bodyguards and assistant, realizing this, hurriedly got out to see what was going on. But unfortunately, as soon as they got out, they were subdued by the bodyguards.
Seeing this, Josephine’s heart tightened, realizing something was wrong.
"Knock knock knock."
"Open the car door."
The driver, pale with fright, hurriedly prepared to open the door.
"Don’t open the car door." Josephine, in a panic, quickly reached for her phone to dial for help.
"Crash--"
The window breaker shattered the car window. Nathaniel reached in and opened the car door.
"Ah--"
"Nathaniel, what are you doing?" Josephine screamed, immediately trying to escape from the other side of the car.
But before she could open the door, Nathaniel’s big hand grabbed her collar. Like catching a kitten, he dragged her out of the car.
"Ah ah--"
"Let go, what do you want?"
Nathaniel didn’t respond, lifting her by the waist and heading straight to his car.
Josephine’s waist felt like it would break from the pressure, her limbs struggling desperately, "Put me down, Nathaniel, you’re breaking your promise..."
"Thud!"
Nathaniel shoved her into the backseat of the Rolls Royce, following her with a grim expression.
"To Mooncove Bay."
"Understood, President Gallagher." The driver stepped on the gas, heading towards Mooncove Bay.
"Nathaniel, I don’t want to go back with you, you can’t go back on your word."
Nathaniel chuckled coldly, snatching her bag, pulling out the divorce agreement.
"What are you doing? That’s the divorce agreement you willingly signed..." Josephine immediately tried to snatch it back.
"Rip rip rip!"
The divorce agreement was torn to pieces by him.
Then, he opened the window, nonchalantly throwing the pieces out.
Boom!
Josephine’s mind went blank, suddenly realizing.
He was afraid she’d run away, and he’d pretended to suggest a divorce to trick her back.
"Is there still a divorce agreement now? Hmm?" Nathaniel laughed coldly, pressing the privacy screen button on the car seat.
The screen descended slowly, separating the driver from the back seat.
Josephine’s breath caught, looking at him in horror, "Nathaniel, what are you going to do?"
Nathaniel’s face darkened, suddenly enraged.
He leaned in, grabbing her neck, and pressed her against the back seat, breathing heavily, "Josephine, what’s your relationship with Julian Grant?"
"Are you divorcing me in such haste because of him? I’m warning you, don’t you dare! If you betray me, I’ll strangle you myself..."
"Rip--" a tearing sound.
The silk cheongsam on her was instantly ripped apart.
"Josephine, you can only belong to me in this lifetime."
"Tell me you love me, say you can’t leave me..."
