CHAPTER 37: DON’T WANT TO MAKE A FUSS ABOUT UNIMPORTANT THINGS
Selene was not happy when her name was mentioned by the other prisoners. She didn’t want to get involved in any fights, especially not just to prove who was the strongest.
She had fought many times before, but she did it all because they bothered her first. And what she did was of course just defending herself so as not to be humiliated even more. But this time was different, this time the fight was deliberately done just to prove something Selena didn’t care about.
"I’ve already had a fight with Reina before. Now I have to do it a second time?" she muttered somewhat annoyed.
Hannah, who saw Selene’s reaction, was worried that Selene might get even more upset and do even more than that.
"It’s better if we just leave without listening to her," she said while pulling Selene’s hand.
However, when she saw Selene about to run away Big Mama immediately ran towards them.
"Don’t you dare run away! You cowards!" she shouted.
As Big Mama stood in front of the two women, Selene and Hannah could see how tall the muscular woman was in front of them. Her skin was an exotic brown color, looking so shiny and beautiful against Selene’s pale skin.
"So you’re the one named Selene? You look too short for me to see, so small and weak. How can someone like you beat me?" she asked with a laugh.
"I can’t, I can’t fight or fight you. You’re the wrong person to fight, sweety," she replied trying to play on Big Mama’s mind.
Big Mama looked confused by Selene’s reaction to her saying that she couldn’t fight. The cunning woman then showed her two palms that looked so smooth.
"Do you think hands this delicate are used for fighting?" she asked her again this time.
Looking at her palms, it certainly didn’t look like someone who was used to fighting or doing heavy work.
In fact, her hands were so soft because Caelum often gave her a cream to keep her hands from feeling rough. Because of this, even if he did any work in prison, his hands would still be smooth because of the cream.
"Then why do they say that I’m not considered that strong if I don’t fight you?" asked Big Mama in confusion.
At that point, Selene started saying the opposite to make Big Mama believe her.
"They’re just playing around. Do you think they seriously want to see you become the strongest? They just want you to beat up a weak woman like that to make you believe you’re already the strongest. I think they just want to make you look silly if you boast about it," Selene replied with a smile.
Hearing her explanation, Big Mama was furious at those who said she only needed to fight someone like Selene. Her hands were clenched tightly into fists, as if she was ready to beat up the prisoners who had mentioned Selene.
"You’ll be so bored if you fight me. I think I’m already down after just one punch, do you still want to continue fighting me?" Selene asked again while folding her hands in front of her chest.
Big Mama, who looked annoyed, did not answer at all and simply walked away towards the crowd that had previously told her to fight with Selene.
From where they stood, Selene and Hannah could see Big Mama beating them up one by one. A sly, satisfied-looking smile graced her beautiful face when she saw that Big Mama believed her words.
"Whoa... You really made her believe it! You’re doing great, Selene!" said Hannah in awe.
"Sometimes we have to work smart, not hard. The body may look strong, but not the head."
Seeing that it was safe for her, she asked Hannah to leave. She smiled as she managed to avoid a fight that was not in her favor at all.
After the lunch break, they went back to work. The female prisoners as usual are ordered to wash their bed sheets as well as their uniforms. Each prisoner gets two uniforms, which they change every three days.
While doing laundry, Selene felt like going to the bathroom to pee.
"Wait for me here, I’m going to go pee for a while," she said as she stood up from where she was washing the bed linen and went to the bathroom.
Hannah who was left alone could only continue her work by scrubbing the white sheets with a brush. They didn’t use washing machines in prison, so they washed them by hand.
While Hannah was busy doing her work, suddenly Stella’s gang, the leaders of the female prisoners, approached her.
"Hey, you’re so slow at washing! Here, wash our part too!" they said, throwing some white sheets at Hannah.
"But this is your sheets part! I already washed mine and Selene’s basket," she said trying to defend herself.
"You think we care? Besides, I’m sure that bitch is currently with Chief Rothwell. Shameless woman, we all worked hard for it but she’s just lazing around in her office," Stella said with an annoyed snort.
"Selene’s not like that! She’s just going to the bathroom right now," Hannah replied.
However, they were not happy with how Hannah responded to their words. Stella intended to teach Hannah a lesson so that she wouldn’t dare go against her. But her friends forbade her because Stella and the others would have to deal with Selene eventually.
"It’s better if we don’t beat her up, but Big Mama! If she beats up Hannah, she’ll be the one dealing with Selene. And I’m sure that bitch won’t win against Big Mama!" suggested one of her followers.
Hearing such an interesting suggestion, Stella came up with a plan to provoke Big Mama into beating up Hannah. When Hannah stood up from her seat and carried the bucket of dirty soap she had washed, she walked to the corner of the room to dump the dirty water.
Stella and some of her followers immediately pushed Hannah towards Big Mama as she passed by. Since Big Mama was washing facing the wall, she didn’t see that Hannah was being pushed towards her.
The bucket underneath Hannah became unbalanced, especially since it was so heavy to begin with. In the end, the bucket tilted towards Big Mama who was washing clothes.
"AHHH!!!"
Soaking the large woman, her hair, which she had always tied up with a cloth, was soaked in the dirty soapy water.
