CHAPTER 38: THE SIREN OF JUSTICE ANGER

The soap in the bucket spilled on Big Mama, soaking her clothes and hair. Hannah panicked, set the bucket down and tried to apologize.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do it at all," she apologized.

However, Big Mama didn’t seem happy with what Hannah had done to her.

"Lies! We saw her pour that dirty water on you on purpose!" said Stella and her friends.

Hannah frantically tried to explain that it didn’t happen. However, Big Mama stood up from her spot with a tower-like body towards her.

Her gaze was so sharp, as if she wanted to kill the woman in front of her. She immediately tugged on Hannah’s collar, making the girl panic even more.

"How dare you mess with me! Have you forgotten that I can shatter your bones in one blow?!" she snapped menacingly as she raised one hand in a fist.

Hannah’s eyes widened in shock, she had not expected to be beaten up on the spot when she had done nothing.

She reflexively closed her eyes, afraid of what would happen next.

THUD!

At the same time, Selene was chatting with Caelum in the hallway. She had gone to the bathroom earlier but as she was about to return to the laundry room, she bumped into the man.

"So, Big Mama was able to get in here because she beat five men until their bones were broken?" asked Selene as she folded her arms in front of her chest.

"Yes, she was also reported to have sold bread with human flesh in it. Because she was deemed dangerous, she was brought here," Caelum explained.

Selene could already imagine how Big Mama would make bread with human flesh in it. It was quite a crime to get into that prison.

"Alright then, I have to go back to the laundry room because Hannah is waiting for me," Selene said.

Before leaving, Caelum pulled her arm and kissed her briefly. "Meet me in my office tonight."

With a smile on her lips, she nodded her head. Just as he let go of her, several warders suddenly ran past them in a state of panic.

Selene stopped one of them and asked what was going on.

"There was a fight in the laundry room. A new prisoner and I think your cellmate!" the warden said because she had seen Hannah with Selene many times.

Hearing this, Selene immediately ran to the laundry room to make sure Hannah was okay. When she heard that it was her cellmate and the new prisoner who were fighting, that meant it was Big Mama.

Once she reached the laundry room, several prison guards tried to keep Big Mama away from Hannah, whose face was already bruised and bleeding.

"Stop it! You’re going to kill her!" said one of the guards. But she wasn’t strong enough to hold the big woman back.

"I don’t care! She started the trouble first by dousing me with dirty water!"

Hannah was already helpless, with her face battered and her head bleeding but her collar continued to be grabbed by the large woman who was currently beating her.

This scene again reminded Selene of her past, and without saying anything she ran straight to Big Mama.

The other female prisoners who saw Selene running towards Big Mama immediately warned the warders to get out of the way.

They reflexively moved away, letting Selene that used her body lunge at Big Mama until she fell. Hannah slipped from her grasp, replaced by Selene who was now smashing the face of the muscular woman below her.

Her hand was raised so high, and she smashed Big Mama’s face so hard that there was even a cracking sound on her nose.

"How dare you hurt her..." her voice trembled, not because she was afraid or holding back tears. It was because her anger had reached its peak as soon as she saw the injured Hannah.

In this situation, Big Mama looked very surprised because no one had ever been able to knock her down like this let alone dare to beat her up until her nose was broken. She looked up at Selene who was on top of her, and realized that what people had said this afternoon was true.

’Her body is small, but her punches are hard and fast. So this afternoon, she was the one who tricked me?’ she thought.

Not wanting to be outdone by Selene, she immediately pushed her away from her and picked up the wooden chair they used to sit and wash clothes, and struck Selene with it.

Being hit by the wooden chair, Selene felt her head hurt but it only increased her anger. Despite the blood flowing from her forehead, Selene would not care and tried to remain standing.

She grabbed the detergent powder and threw it at Big Mama’s face and especially at her eyes. That made the woman scream out in pain as both her eyes felt so burning from the detergent powder.

"ARRGHH SHIT!" she cried out loudly, trying to find water to wash her eyes.

The other prisoners were so scared watching their fight, including the guards who were frozen in place as the fight was more brutal than usual.

Moreover, what Selene did was at great risk of making Big Mama go blind because of the detergent that got into her eyes.

As soon as she found a bucket with water, Big Mama immediately put her head in to wash her face from the detergent. However, Selene walked straight up to her and pressed her head into the water without letting her breathe.

"How dare you hurt Hannah. Don’t you know the risks of what you’re doing?" she asked in a cold, piercing tone.

Big Mama tried to push Selene away, but the woman kept stomping on the back of her head to keep her out of the bucket.

"You think you’re better than everyone so you can beat up anyone you think you have a problem with? You’re nothing more than a shrimp-brained woman with a big body. You boast of your muscles and strength but you have no brains."

As soon as Big Mama looked a little limp, Selene grabbed her hair and then grabbed some more detergent to put in her mouth.

"Listen to me carefully. Once you dare to touch Hannah again, I will not hesitate to make you die a ridiculous death in this prison even before the court decides on your death sentence. Do you understand?"

Before the situation got so bad, Caelum came to stop his woman from doing anything further.

"That’s enough. You don’t have to do any more than that, Selene," he ordered.

Hearing that, Selene let go of Big Mama’s hair and threw away the detergent on her hands. She cleaned her hands as she glanced at all the female prisoners who were terrified to see them.

"You can take her to the medical room," a calmer but still firm Caelum said.

"Without you saying it, I will," Selene replied and carried Hannah’s badly injured body out of the laundry room.

The other prisoners waited to see what Caelum would say next. His sharp gaze looked at them one by one.

"Come forward and tell me what happened! If no one is willing to do so..."

He paused for a moment.

"I will whip you all 50 times without exception!"
