Her Smile His Sentence
Chapter 56: Hopeful Little Gifts
CHAPTER 56: HOPEFUL LITTLE GIFTS
Now that things were back to normal, Selene chose to sleep with Caelum the night he returned. The two of them lay together on the bed, enjoying the silence of the room that night.
They didn’t need to talk at length, as just being in each other’s presence felt so warm and comforting.
In the end, Caelum spoke about what had happened in the mainland that Selene would have wanted to know about.
"I see. I didn’t realize that there were still so many people who were thinking of liberating me. I appreciate their support, but I think it’s all in vain," she said.
She knew there was no way the government would let her escape. Even if another country, Dormania, wanted to help with Selene’s release for her crimes, there was no way the Zondalian would allow Dormania to take over.
Because almost 70% of the population in Dormania had the dark occupation of mafia. Even the government could be defeated by one of the mafia empires there.
They thought what Selene did was actually a way to protect innocent people. But she was the one being blamed and it was unfair.
"They said that they would accept you as their citizen if you were released," Caelum said.
"So you’re saying that if I get free, Zondalian will send me to Dormania who will accept me?"
The man nodded his head. "I think a place like Dormania is suitable for you to live in if they let you go free. Since they’re the ones offering themselves, they’ll definitely protect you from all sorts of laws."
Right now all Caelum could think about was that they could go to a country. Where Selene would no longer be pressured by those who knew her to be a Siren of Justice.
Or maybe even take her to escape to Dormania where she would be protected. All the man wanted was for his woman not to receive the death penalty or be trapped in prison forever.
"But you know that would be very difficult to do. Zondalians won’t want to ruin their reputation just to release a criminal. Other criminals would commit the same crime and try to escape the law in the same way," Selene said.
Caelum knew that. He had thought the same thing before, that people would try to commit a crime and flee to Dormania to escape the law.
He tightened his embrace, not wanting to let go of the woman beside him. The man would find all sorts of ways to stay with her.
Selene realized that the man next to her was currently thinking about something complicated.
"Forget about it for now. Now it’s better to spend time together than to think about such things," she said as she gently touched his cheek and caressed it.
He took her hand and kissed it. "I’m just a little lost in my thoughts. I should have used this moment to be with you."
Caelum pushed her hand onto the bed and held it. He climbed on top of her and began kissing her deeply, licking his lips trying to get into her mouth. Selene gasped softly, feeling what he was doing was so sweet. She finally opened her mouth to let his tongue enter her.
Their two tongues finally met again after a long time of feeling so lonely in the absence of each other.
Their kiss was filled with passion and longing. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him deeper and deeper.
"Haa... Cherry flavor. You deliberately ate that candy before, huh?" Caelum whispered in between their kisses.
A sly smile appeared on her beautiful face. "Why not? If it makes it more intense than usual. Isn’t that much better?"
"You’re really sneaky. A woman who is naughty and also really likes to tease. And I love it," he said.
He pulled away and got out of bed to pick up the things he had brought from the mainland. Saying that they were the gifts Selene had asked for before he left.
"I haven’t had time to buy more of the gifts you wanted. If they hadn’t suddenly asked me to come back, I would have bought another gift," Caelum said as he handed over three paper bags.
"No problem, I think this will be enough." Selene accepted the gift.
Although the price was worth it, Caelum did not ask about what happened further. She opened the first shopping bag, and found that it contained his skincare cream that he used to buy for her.
The second bag contained chocolates as well as some of Selene’s favorite foods.
"I knew you would give me these. But I think these things are also indeed something I need and really like from you," she said then she looked at the third bag which was bigger than the others.
As soon as she opened the bag, it turned out that the contents were two dresses in blue and black that looked so beautiful.
"You always wear your prisoner’s clothes when you’re with me, so I gave you those two dresses to wear every time you come here," Caelum explained.
He was sure that Selene would feel uncomfortable wearing even the hot prisoner’s clothes.
"It’s a beautiful dress, though it’s a shame that I can only wear it when I come here. But are you sure it will fit me?" Selene teased her.
She had never told him about the size of her clothes. Was it possible that it would fit her?
"You try it on first. I want to see you in that black dress and then show me."
"Alright, I’ll change my clothes." The brown-haired woman then walked to the bathroom to change her clothes.
Caelum sat on the edge of the bed waiting for her to come out of the bathroom, showing her the clothes he had just bought her.
After a few minutes, Selene finally came out of the bathroom wearing the outfit that fit her perfectly. The short dress seemed to hug her waist, molding her beautiful and shapely body.
"I didn’t expect this dress to fit me. You are indeed a very good observer," she said as she spinned slowly to make the bottom of the dress bloom.
He stood up from the bed, then walked over to her and pulled her waist close. Looking at her from such a close distance that their bodies were pressed against each other.
"You look very beautiful. For now I will only buy these two dresses for you. But if someday you will really be free from prison, here I will buy you all the dresses you want."
His hand gently rubbed her waist, as if he was looking at her expectantly. Hoping to see her in all the beautiful dresses that would hug her body like this.
Although, in Selene’s eyes that hope was like a thorn that she hoped would soon disappear.
"I really want to be able to live outside of here and we wear matching clothes," she said as she touched his cheek with both hands.
He smiled, then kissed her lightly.
"Can I hope that the matching outfit is a suit and a pretty white dress on the altar?"
